  1. My husband tried fasting but the first day back to work after hurricane evacuation he could not take it. He is a welder and it gets very very hot. He has to eat something and most of all have water. I told him before he even went to work that he was going to start feeling sick just like he did last year. Last year he stopped fasting after a day or two. He is not really a practicing muslim in ALOT of ways. But, for sure, he does not eat pork.

  2. sohappy2,

u might can get it back at the interview. I was freaking out over my husband's original birth certificate with translation. I could not find it for our AOS interview. At the interview my husband saw it in the file the officer was looking through and I told him that is our original. I asked if I can have it back and I will give him a copy. He said yes. So, I handed him a copy. I was so relieved at finding out what happened to it and getting it back. But, in your case, you don't have a copy of your tax forms to exchange.

  3. For the most part the interview went fine. The officer and my husband even talked about karate. But, the worse part was when the officer said that Othman needed the varicella (chickenpox) shot. Shoot the doctor should have known that. My husband was given a RFE . I asked the officer how come the RFE was not sent to us and he told us that he just got our file. I did mention to him about whoever had gotten it first should have looked it over. This could have been caught sooner since it has been over 4 months since I mailed in the packet.

We was asked for our I.D. so we gave him our drivers license. Also gave him the passport and the I- 194. He kept the I-194. Some of the things we showed the officer during the interview was rental lease, checking account statement, electric bill, phone bill, car insurance card, accidental life insurance, dental bill, and the paper when we bought our car. These things showed both of our names on them. Also, I asked him if he wanted to look at our photo albums. We had brought 3. He flipped through all 3. We brought other things also but was not ask to show them.

So the hold up now is getting the shot taken care of and mail the paper back to them.

  4. I quit my job and now my husband is totally supporting us. When I sent in the AOS packet with the Affidavit of support I was working and we did not put down his income. But, now I wonder what will be said at the interview next month. He makes enough money as he is a welder. Hopefully everything at the interview will go smoothly. We already had our 2 year anniversary so we do not have to lift conditions later.

I was going to file last year but before I got around to doing it the fee went wayyyyyyyyy up. He was pretty upset with me. I was mad at myself also.

Our AOS interview is on August 11th.

  5. Howdy,

yes, it has been awhile since I posted. Well, here is our moans and groan..........

    1. The pc is broke.....My mom let us borrow her lap top at least.

    2. still no EAD.....We filed in Dec. and he had his fingerprints taken Jan 10th.

    3. Othman can't get the social security card without the EAD.

    4. cannot file income taxes yet cuz he needs his social security card so we can file together......more $$$$$$

    5. Also, of course, he can not work without ssn.

  6. Othman knows I will never move to Morocco. He knows we will have a better life here and can help his family more by living here. The wages here are so much higher than there. About a week before I left Morocco I was thinking about Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz....Theres no place like home. I absolutely love my country and I will NEVER move away permanently. I lived overseas when I was in the Navy, but I knew it was temporary.

Also, I hate their toilets there and having to carry TP everywhere I went in my purse. I love being able to go to a store here and getting a cold drink and all the other conveniences we have here.

Morocco for me is fine for vacations so we can visit family and sightsee.

  7. I hope we get the call soon. :help:

Thats great that he has a job lined up. My sweety doesn't have anything yet, but I doubt it will take him long, we have a great economy here right now.

As for what he will do in the meantime, well I don't even have to ask. He will go through the entire house exploring what treasures he can find. He is a snoop, and doesn't hide it. There isn't much to find though, I live a pretty average life now that I am a married woman. Maybe I will give him a dust rag and tell him while he is going through everything he might as well be cleaning it.

I hope he doesn't look under the bed though, I have his xmas present there!

m4e, you made me laugh. I have been getting Othman to help me clean around the house. Also, one day he looked under the bed looking and showed me a bag. I told him that is ur christmas present!

We are adjusting to each other. I find that I need lots of patience with him. Sometimes he calls something a name and I have no idea what he is talking about. But, we get it figured out. He speaks english but we still have some problems with what things are called. On the days that I work he wash dishes alot cuz I am sleeping during the day and work nights.
