  1. we had to file an i90 for an error on my husband's greencard back in april... the website says they are processing from july of last year... anyone file i90 in california lately?

just hoping we don't have to wait another year to actually have the greencard in hand...

thanks, hope everyone has a great weekend

We sent Hachemi's green card back June 9th to CSC. Before we sent it back, we made an infopass appointment and they stamped his passport with a I 551 stamp with a 6 month expiration. It acts as a temporary green card. Hopefully we will receive his corrected green card before it expires. She did say if we dont receive it, we can make another infopass and get a new stamp.

Thanks meriem, i would like to get a stamp for my husband but unfortunately our "local" office is about 8 hours away and we aren't able to travel there now.... good luck to you, i hope you receive it soon!

  2. i don't think any of the doctor offices i spoke with would take insurance for the exam even if your insurance would cover it... i think something should be done about this; only because if someone looked at my husband's application long enough to notice how soon his medical would expire they could have just approved it. but no point in arguing...

good luck to everyone, thanks for the support

  3. just an update:

my husband received his second medical for aos on march 23 (still not even a year after his first). since it was just under a year, he didn't have to do a TB test or chest xray or any of his vaccines. but since the last doctor who did his medical exam in london never gave him any paperwork, he had to get another blood test done. so that's a total of about $600 we've spent on medical exams and travel expenses.

we had to go back a week later to pick up the paperwork and sent it off 3/31. no response just yet, hopefully they won't ask for anything else.

hope there aren't many more people who have to get another medical...

    good luck everyone

  4. hey

you can get your ssn if you came in on a k-1 but it will just say that it's not valid for employment purposes. once you get your AOS approved you can go back and get a new card that doesn't say that.

check out this page: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...om&page=ssnget all the material together and take it to your social security office; you shouldn't have any trouble with it if you've been here a couple of weeks now.

be sure to check out the AOS forum if you have questions about your paperwork

    best of luck!

  5. is there a I797C approval notice sent out when receiving ap or ead? or do you just get the first NOA upon receipt and then get the actual documents? i don't remember getting a second NOA after ead and ap approval...

(i don't like losing things... just making sure)

thanks have a great night everyone

We applied for AP and only got one notice.

    have a good one!

  7. his rfe said he did not need the vaccination supplement, that they already had that information (which i wasn't expecting because we decided to send the supplement he was given rather than the I693A)

we may make an infopass appointment but our "local" office is in Memphis, a good 8-9 hours away. the big problem is we are going back to scotland next month since he hasn't seen his family in over 7 months (everything is booked and paid for-no refunds) and neither of us are going to have any more days off work to travel. a civil surgeon is closer (only 2 hours) but we only have 3 choices (one listed on uscis website does not do the medical exams apparently) and there's no telling about the cost.

i read the thread posted, and thanks so much for the information... ridley i hope everything turns out all right, thanks for everyone's support

    have a great weekend

  8. my husband got an RFE from CSC to get another medical exam, i know he's not the first this has happened to but we are beyond frustrated anyways because every little thing has gone wrong and we're sick of dealing with immigration. he got his exam last march so it's been almost a year but they've also had our application at csc for over four months now, and he had to spend a LOT of money to travel to and get the first one. we have shed too many tears over this ordeal.

i hope no one else has as much trouble as we've had so far...

    good luck everyone

  9. i just wish we had better communication with them all, or a more specific picture of what actually happens once they get an application instead of having to guess or speculate. i'm sure they are overworked, etc. but i know at least my hubby and i wouldn't be so annoyed and frustrated if we didn't have to wait and wait and wait for just a tiny bit of information. it seems like the process is a big complicated secret.

i am happy for those who do go through quickly and i know many have been waiting longer than my husband but i'm glad we're not the only ones who are quite angry... now we are in the waiting for an rfe to come in the mail...

good luck to everyone though, maybe things will change soon

    happy wednesday
