Ugh, I'm so sorry, what a hassle! I hope things go quickly in AP. I am still very early in in my timeline but wanted to be proactive and looked recently into getting my tax transcripts. I got them within like 5 minutes online!

So I tried that and I was able to get the joint sponsors tax transcript online but for whatever reason when I tried to get mine it kept saying that the information you entered does not match what is in the system and after 3 trys it would lock me out. I emailed my tax guy to see if he entered something wrong on my return, and I even called IRS however they said they don’t know how the online system works and that all they can do is request a copy to be mailed to me. So that’s what I had to do. It took about 5 days to get in the mail. I should have done it sooner but I remember the last time I requested them it took forever. But I finally got them yesterday. When I emailed the embassy the joint sponsors transcript, they replied pretty fast so I am hoping they reply by Sunday, as Friday and Saturday is considered the weekend in UAE.

  2. Hello!

I just wanted to post this to give a heads up to anyone interviewing in Abu Dhabi. On the set of instructions for documents you need to bring for the interview, it mentioned to either bring a copy of the petitioners and any sponsors most recent tax return OR tax transcript. The last time I requested a tax transcript it took a while and was a hassle so I decided I’d just give my husband copies of mine and the joint sponsors tax return. My husbands interview date was July 24th 2019 and he had all the documents with him (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc) they didn’t even take copies they just checked the originals. However they would not accept the tax return copies. They wanted the actual transcripts so the case was put on administrative processing.

I highly advise anyone interviewing in Abu Dhabi who is applying for a marriage based greencard, to request a copy of the tax transcripts as well just in case. Don’t make the same mistake I did 😭

That should be the same as case complete. You just have to wait for the email from NVC with your interview date. It might be this month (July interview date) or next month (August interview date), depending on how many prior case completes in your category the embassy has to schedule interviews for July.

Just an update... I had gotten the first email  on June 11th stating that our case was being sent to the embassy to schedule an interview, and I just now (June 13th) received an email saying the interview is scheduled for July 24th :)

Nice! Thanks so much for replying!!

The email includes a checklist but instead of mailing the additional documents to NVC it says to give it to my husband to bring to the interview since they have the minimum needed to schedule an interview, and that they will contact me once a date is scheduled. I checked on the CEAC site and when I typed the receipt number it says additional documents required which is why I was confused. That’s the correct site to check the status right?

Sorry I take that back, the website that I used to track this (CEAC) doesn’t say additional documents required it just says at NVC and that they sent me a list with 6 steps before an interview can be scheduled. But the email I received (NVC Checklist) says that they have the minimum documents required to schedule an interview and the form that is missing just needs to be given to my husband to bring to the interview.

I think the email you received is the case complete email. Does it say he's documentarily qualified and he's in line for an interview at the embassy?

  7. Hello everyone!

I just received an email from NVC saying that they are going to send our case to the Abu Dhabi Consulate  to schedule an interview finally! I noticed on this thread people mentioning “case complete” status.. how do I check if my case is complete or at what stage my case is at? It has been quite a while since I submitted the application for my husband and I honestly forgot how the whole procedure works.

In the letter it also mentioned that I have to fill out an additional form and my husband would need to bring it on the date of his interview. For those of you who have already gotten an interview date if you can please let me know how long you had to wait, Just to get an idea?

  8. Hello, I am getting all my paperwork ready so that I am ready to submit once I hear from the NVC

I am using my mom as a joint sponser and I noticed that on the form it askes for her Naturalization number. When she applied to get her passport she didn't get her Naturalization Certificate back and to request another one costs $500+. I just wanted to see if anyone went through a similar situation and what they were able to do?

What did you base your expedite request in?

My son had open heart surgery at 5 days old and I can't put him in daycare or take him out unless needed Bc if he were to develop any type of respiratory condition it can effect his heart, and I have no one to take care of him so I can't get a job so that's why I need my husband to come as soon as possible so that one of us can work while the other takes care of our son. So it is causing financial problems. However my case was approved before they even got a chance to review my expedite request.

Omg that is amazing!! Congrats So happy for you. Best of luck. Can you tell me what they asked your husband please share the experience. My husband also have interview in Abu Dhabi.

Hello, just was a bit curious, how long after your case was complete did they schedule his interview? My husband is also in Abu Dhabi, just want to get an idea of the time frame.

I just want to share with you all that my husband attended his interview this morning at USEM Abu Dhabi, and he was approved. He was actually the first person to be interviewed for IV. If you were there this morning you probably saw a fine young man in blue suit. ??:D:jest:

Thank you everyone for your support and assistance through this journey. It's been a rough and painful one year but I'm glad it has come to an end. I'm hoping he joins me this weekend in the US. ? Thank you all!

Case completed Sept 15, 2016. Interview scheduled on February 3, 2017.

    Interview date March 1, 2017

Hello! First of all congrats! Very happy for you guys! :)!

Second, so after your case was completed  it took 6 months for them to schedule an interview? I'm asking because my husband lives in Abu Dhabi as well and I just wanted to get an idea of how long Abu Dhabi takes. My case was just approved 2/28 and sent to NVC

Hey! My case just got approved 3/1! ? PD 8/18! I did submit a request for my case to be expedited on Feb 27th but it is still showing that it has not been assigned for processing.

For those of you who are worried about your case taking longer because your Muslim/from a Muslim country, don't lose hope! I'm a USC from Pakistan and my husband is from Pakistan currently living in UAE!

Sorry, it was approved 2/28 not 3/1

I think the 5-7 month wait (more 7 than 5 ) is the indeed the most frustrating part of the process.

I really, really hope you get to expedite your case. And I am sending all my love and hugs for your family and your son!

Thanks so much! I called today to make the request. They said they will contact me in about 5 days for proof and then will make a decision. Hopefully they approve it!

  14. Hello, I was reading the posts about expediting a case and wanted to get an opinion about my particular case, whether it is worth submitting a request for it to be expedited.

My son was born in Oct last year with a heart condition so he had to have open heart surgery at 5 days old, he is fine now however will need a cardiologist for the rest of his life and unfortunately cannot go out much and be around other kids, if he gets a respitory infection it can lead to problems with his heart. Because of this I cannot put him in any type of day care until he is older and I don't have anyone to take care of him while I work, so I really need my husband here so that one of us can look after our son while the other works, and it's crucial right now for my son to have insurance.

We are going to be visiting my husband next month, as my son finally got a doctors clearance to travel. This will be the first time that my husband will be seeing his son. However I can't keep going back and forth with my son, plane tickets are costly and I don't want to be putting my son at too much of a risk while traveling. Which is why when I read about possibly expediting a case It gave me a little bit of hope however will it lengthen the time for my case if they deny it?

    Any advice will help!

Thank you so much. my is 4777, we are far away, but the 4776 already approved.only one number ahead of me, I don't know how they function this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I noticed as well other cases after mine had been approved, while mine was still as is. If you use the USCISAPP, you can search case numbers and it gives you what type of form that case number is associated with. So the case numbers after mine that have been approved or have a different status are forms other that the I-130. So maybe they separate the applications by type of form, and then work on them?

  16. 19 minutes ago, agripa said:

If you've already submitted your I-130 application, sending in anything now is a total waste of time. There's absolutely no guarantee it'll be attached to your application. At this point, you should hold on to any additional evidence for a bonafide marriage (i.e., your child's birth certificate) and ONLY send it if you're (i) responding to an RFE (i.e., they ask for additional information) or (ii) send it with the IV package at the NVC stage.

Is the ONLY proof you sent a letter from your doctor stating that your wife is pregnant? If so, I would say this is probably not enough. Your wife being pregnant is just proof that she's fertile, not that you have a bonafide marriage. I understand that your marriage is new and having things like a joint bank account is difficult. However, you can and should have sent in evidence of having met in person and any evidence of on-going communication. If you haven't already sent this in, start to gather this evidence and send it when they either ask for it or at the NVC stage.

Yes she can. She will however have to make enough to support a total of at least 3 dependents (you, your wife, and herself) plus anyone else living in her household. Make sure she makes enough to support your proposed household size.

Thanks so much for your reply! I'll start collecting anything else that can prove our marriage. I do have plane tickets for when I went to visit him and we have a ton of photos together that I can print out and submit if they ask as well!

So they won't deny the application right away right? They will first ask for more evidence and anything else they need? I wish I would have submitted other evidence with the application however the lawyer we consulted said it wasn't necessary at the time and to wait until they ask for it :(.

  17. Hello, I am new to this forum but I am finding it really helpful! Thank you everyone for your posts and updates!

I applied for my husband back in August and got our first NOA with a pd of August 25th 2016.

In the other threads I have noticed that most people have joint bank accounts etc, to prove that thier marriage is bonafide. I didn't think of doing that as we have been married for a little over a year and i am living in the US while my husband is still in UAE. In Oct we had our first child. I did include a letter from my doctor stating that I am pregnant, and I now have our child's birth certificate. Do I have to wait until they ask for it to submit it? Or can I submit it now? Also would that be enough to determine that this marriage is legitimate?

Another thing that I am worried about is that I do not have a job and neither does my husband , my mom is supporting us for now so can she submit an affidavit of support showing that she will be able to support my husband when he comes here?

Just want to make sure I am doing everything correctly!

    Thanks again!
