Ours was in a sealed, plastic shipping envelope. There were three things inside for us:
Passport with valid US visa. Brown, sealed envelope that you cannot open, to be presented at your POE. A paper describing how to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee and some other things. You need to open the shipping envelope to get everything out. How will your spouse fly if she doesn't present her passport and visa at the airport? :-P

Thanks! Dealing with the US Consulate in Saigon is only slightly less opaque and frustrating than dealing with Vietnamese bureaucracy! ;-)

Probably so.. But there is a way to see if we have a case complete (CC).  I think once we see our status change to "AT NVC", it would be the ideal time to call for an update/confirmation of a CC or a checklist..
