Question to those who got May Interview Date last week. Is your status already changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit"?

My interview is end of May and since interview appointment (March 30) the status haven't changed. Others here say it takes only a day or two. Does this mean I should worry? ;) May be they transfer cases to local embassies more close to interview dates (my is almost 2 month from

Great news....But will suggest you get your VISA in passport (which u will get on the day of interview) then after u deal with the " possible employers with real date"😃😃.

Waiting for my interview date too...

    CC March 20th 2017

It was probably for me :)  In fact they stamp visa 2-3 days after the interview but-but-but.

Going to the interview without real job offer (could be informal but still) has a great chance of delay called "Administrative processing". That's what my lawyer said.

While this type of employment visa doesn't require an employer they still want to see you 1) will stay in your field after entering U.S. 2) will have sources for living

I will definitely do so.  I actually called this morning just to see if anything had happened yet and they said no, still waiting for interview date to be assigned.  I hope we hear something soon,  I imagine you are as anxious to get to the interview as my wife is. :)

Thanks and exactly it is this way :)  My job plans also heavily depend and just imagine what can I answer during phone interviews "umm I should get green card may be in May, but don't doubt I will be able to start from May, some date of May but I don't know what date or... may be June...."

Depends on your country of birth. Pl look at the dates in visa bulletin in the following link:

    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/law-and-policy/bulletin/2017/visa-bulletin-for-april2017

      EB-2 is current for Ukraine

Sure, exactly! It's current for April. But what the embassy told me (and what NVC doesn't confirm if they understood what I was talking about).. They told me that to schedule interview for May NVC needs to see May Visa Bulletin and NVC can not schedule May interview for me before they see this May Bulletin to confirm date will still be current.

That's why I was shocked.. As May Bulletin will be available only closer to mid-April. But may be the embassy is not right. NVC representative told me it's not a problem and my case is current. Don't know who is right.

Oh God. Just received reply from the embassy regarding my employment-based case. Who also is employment based might be also interested in this info.

My embassy told me that as employment based visas are numerically limited (Visa Bulletins for each month are published to determine eligibility) NVC can not schedule interview till next Visa Bulletin is available.

That means that May interviews for employment based cases will probably be scheduled ONLY after NVC receives Visa Bulletin for May... And usually Visa Bulleting is published about 11th day of the preceding month. That means that they will start scheduling employment based May interviews only after April 11th or later... Oh My God!!!! Interview at thend of May?

But! If they fill all interview slots for May before April 11 what then? As they have family based that could be scheduled without Visa Bulletin.

Who else encountered this and how that really works.....?

Small upd. Called NVC but they told "your case is current, just waiting for appointment date available". I don't know whom to beleive...

Hi everyone. I hope you all are having a nice weekend.

I called NVC last week to see if we've been scheduled an interview date yet. No luck such yet. I was told to call back during the first week of April and see if we've been scheduled for May. Does anyone know when they usually begin scheduling for the next months interview... is it really in the beginning of April or will they begin at the end of March (this coming week)? Is there any point to call this week and check?

    Thanks.

As it was last month many people start calling last days of the month and write here if they have appointments.

So I will just wait for appointment posts here and call after at least 1-2 of them :)  Ok, I'll also call Thursday anyway.

Thursday-Friday or Monday-Tuesday should bring us some updates.

just saw this post: it answers my previous comment.

I hope everything will resolve soon!

    Thanks for support Kate!

Today I received e-mail reply from one of e-mail addresses I was complaining to yesterday. It's NVC Expedite. It was total bullshit. They answered that they contacted the embassy to Expedite my case but the embassy refused because it would be unfair.

I'm shocked and killed. I was NOT asking them to Expedite!!!! I was asking them to INVESTIGATE what's wrong is with their own team that gives me bullshit answers. And they do not investigate... instead they send to the embassy the request I was not asking them to send!

They just do not read e-mail and provide template answers. Total unprofessionalism.

I replied to them with very strong request to stop sending me template answers and just read my e-mail and answer it thoughtfully.

If they send me another bullshit I'll send them complaints every day. I feel awful that we pay significant money for so unprofessional service.

The NVC is shocking! I was finally preparinng to wait for May interview but....

3 weeks ago sent e-mail to asknvc about possible interview appointment. 3 weeks! And here is their answer:

"Immigrant visa petition XXX is currently on a list of completed cases awaiting the availability of visa numbers. This petition will be eligible for an immigrant visa interview when a visa number is available per the Department of State's Visa Bulletin. The current edition of the visa bulletin is available on the following website:"

TOTAL BULLSHIT!!!!!! I'm more than tired of all this unprofessionalism. My case is employment based second category and in both March (current) and April (upcoming) bulletins most countries including Ukraine have Current dates and should wait nothing. Visa number for my category IS available already and was available before.

What I see, it was either very unprofessional reply OR they really messed up with my case putting it to the wrong queue. Like Mr. Trump said "Sad! Disgusting! Total disaster!"

My complaints sent to all NVC e-mails I know and to the embassy. Will call and demand a supervisor today.

Some update to this. Called NVC, had a conversation with very helpful representative. He listened very seriously and agreed something could be definitely wrong with this and my suggestion this case is waiting in the wrong line could be a hit. So he escalated situation to the supervisor to check, now waiting for the reply...

I have a question about paying for the medical exam.  It says pay $215 dollars but then later says about paying it in the local currency, in our case grivna for Ukraine.  So do I have my wife take 215 American or have her convert it? Seems strange considering the currency fluctuations that happen...Any info would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Should pay only in local currency. No problem at all. Convert the day before interview.

  13. Called NVC again asking why my Feb 22 CC still has no appointment. Also asked have they finished April scheduling.

The representative was very helpful. He told me there is no exact answer if they are done with April processing because it all depends on the specific embassy. Some may be still scheduling April and some not. It depends how NVC receives dates from them.

But most important they call it Scheduling department and they do not know what's inside this department, they do not know how to contact it...

The rep said my embassy might be just overloaded with cases but there is no way to check. When I ask the embassy they give no answer (and they may not know because they receive appointments from the NVC and may not see how many cases wait to be scheduled) and the scheduling department which definitely has the picture is not reachable...

What a real-real pain. More and more problems here in Ukraine and I need this interview as soon as possible. Job situation unstable as the company is under political attack from local crazy crooks called "government". And surely I'll not look for another job for "don't know how many months or weeks". And finally when I get phone interviews from U.S. companies they ask "when you'll be able to join" and I can answer nothing more than "umm may be some date in April or May but I'm not sure". Not sure even about May.

I understand everything but at least they can inform us how many cases wait before. Why not?

Messaged AskNVC but probably they will respond with a formal answer. It was before when case was completed "Wait 60 days for your appointment".

Hi, this is my first post here though I have been reading it often.

I filed papers for my wife at USCIS July 24, went to NVC Oct 3 2016 DS 260 received 10/25/2016 and mailed scanned 11/18/2016.

Then it sat there from the looks of it.

Went to supervisory review Jan 31, 2017 and just about an hour ago I saw the 3 N/A's and case status At NVC....looks like it was finally completed. Tried to call but phones were busy and can not get through.

I called NVC a few times and last time I called, 3/9/2017 the rep said this is taking too long and he would email his supervisor. Looked liked this actually worked.

So hopefully will get an interview date in Kiev soon...

Anyone have any ideas for that?

Good luck to all and congratulations to those of you with dates and visas!!!!

    Long process

Hi, you may expect some May date probably. Not sure about April but also possible. My Kiev embassy case was completed Feb 22 and I call every day to get appointment day with no success. That's very strange as people from other countries are more happy. May be our embassy is overloaded with cases.
