You shouldn't get a paper notification letter for being placed in-line.  The only way you will know this change is being setup for email or text notification, or simply keep checking the USCIS Case Status site.  The next paper notification you will get will be your interview date/time information once it is set up.

Yesterday I had my fingerprint appointment at the USCIS Office in Tampa Florida. It is the second time I go there for the finger prints, so I was mentally prepared to wait there for one hour.
 
This is my experience, as soon as I walked into the office (that's a huge building), the security guys were there, I had to take off my shoes, belt, keys all metal items and I walked thru the metal detector. The security guys were a little bit bitter. So I went to the fingerprint area, there was a huge line waiting to check in, it took me 15 min to get to the reception and check in, where they gave me my turn and the civil test book. The place was completely packed, and they do not have enough seats for everyone. There were 46 people in front of me. After 2 hours and 10 min I was called out, it took them no more than 10 min to take the picture and the fingerprints.
 
Hopefully this is going to be the last time I have to do finger prints at the USCIS TAMPA.

It is frustrating to see that October fillers like 70% of them havnt gotten interview letters yet...November only 2 people got it .... i feel like it will take foreeeeeever?

That means they have scheduled a date for fingerprints on feb 7... the date when you need to do fingerprints is not feb 7 , it would possibly be around feb 23 ( could be few days plus minus) so wait for letter you should be receiving a letter within a week that would have your appointment time and date for your fingerprints ... hope this helps

Hey guys, I just made the N-400 processing time chart. Data from the processed cases on this forum since January 2016 to August 2016.
Data shows that:
Processing time is calculated from fingerprint date to interview date.
- Average processing time: 115 days (4 months)
- Latest:  274 days (10 months)
- Earliest: 37 days (1 month)
- 85% of cases that have fingerprint date from January to May were processed within 150 days and  60% processed within 100 days (3 months)
- For people who have fingerprint date from May to August, the process seems 50% slower.
 
 

You will see fingerprints letter sent under case status and then in 2 to 5 days you will receive a letter with date on it for your appointment

No worry weakheart, my I-797C  is without SSN too.. the box is blank.. by the way.. can you be so kind and upd me ?? I have just  received my FP scheduled  on  02/07. Thank you and keep smiling ! 

I just said i was in town and could you fit me in today.  They were happy to do it.  It won't move me any quicker thru the process but its out of the way now.

Funny thing is today i have also received NOA and it says it was received on 11th and priority date is also 11th .

I just saw your post. I filled my husband's N-400 by hand, and our case was actually one of the fastest for September filers. He became a citizen last week, while many others are still waiting for interviews. So filling by hand certainly did not slow it down in our case. Good luck with your application!

Sorry for my mistake ....I received the email but not hard cpy yet... I have just noticed that we upd dates when we physically take Fprints..so , I will ask for UPD later  :-))

weakheart   .... Thanks for the help.... You have shown me a path. I will contact uscis to check this and watch for next 2 months to decide what to do with GC renewal.

@weakheart Yes are exactly same dates bcz my package was delivered to USCIS on 11th Jan early morning via FedEx. And Yes i filled out all the forms I.E
G-1145 , G-1450 and our money was accepted by USCIS on 17th Jan . But i haven't received any text or email yet .

When I went to my naturalization interview, the Immigration Agent only asked me my current place of employment. She did not ask anything about past employment, however, if the Agent does ask you, I don't think specific dates are necessary. I think you should be fine with general dates. Good luck.
 
I also would not bring it up unless the Agent specifically asks you. Only answer questions or divulge information that the Agent specifically asks of you.

@weakhearti believe that you are the only one who hand filled n400 application in this Jan thread . Mine was also delivered on 11th early morning but still nothing lets hope we will get NOA-1 soon Cashd Notfication .
