Yes, since you're not using an attorney to prepare it you should leave part 3 section 2 unchecked.
I'm unsure as to whether the father is the preparer. You could probably include him under that section and nothing bad would happen.
A cover letter including the basic case information would probably be a good idea.

The information on page 1 concerns the child, because it asks for the information of the "intending immigrant".
Page 2, part 2, you would check box 1.b.
For part 3, you would check box 1.a assuming your husband is fluent in English.
Your husband signs in box 6.a.
Leave parts 4 and 5 blank.
