There's no need to call or send information.  Just be ready with answers to any questions about your plans.

What are the laws?! I've search and it says that our marriage license would be voided in PA if we married in NC, is that true? In PA saw in one page that  first cousin one remove can marry but I can't find it any where else? I keep reading so many different things. 😭☹️😣

They don't have to marry in the State in which they intend to reside. A half-cousin is genetically halfway between a first and second cousin, so they can marry in any of 20 States and potentially 25. It's not really a major issue.

I've seen your name all over visa journey and seems like you know so much! My fiancé who is my half cousin had his interview in Bogotá. They said that they were going to give our papers to they lawyers because they didn't know the laws about cousin marriage. I live in PA but we would marry in NC, do we have a chance of getting his visa? Should we call the embassy or send them info about the states?

    Thank you Alejandra

    please message me

    Hello,

Fist of all I apologize if this question has been asked already, I didnt have much luck when searching for my answer.

My Fiance has her appointment forthe K! visa interview on 12/19/16. My question is, should I try to go to that appointment with her? Will it make a difference? I am going to school and also work here in the states and so its kind of hard to just pack up and go. Does anyone have any idea how much my presence will make a difference at the interview?

    Thanks,

    Gabe

Hi! I'm going through the process, can you please tell what steps you took? When the embassy got the papers did wait for the email if so how long did it take?

We need advise from someone who has been through the interview process in Bogota. We are scheduled for our interview on Feb 10th and my wife is a nervous wreck because of course we want to get everything right the first time. My Wife who resides in Colombia now was previously married before and has gotten divorced. We got the divorce certificate for the NVC DS-260 before and now that we are going to the interview they are asking to bring the certificate to the interview. Do we need to get a new certificate or can we use the one we already have?

Hi!! Question.... did you wait till you got the package or did you email them to get it? And if you did wait how long did it take? Thanks

    Thanks :):):)

I did not call to see if it left NVC. Once you have your NVC #, you can check the status here:  https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

It changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit".

But yes, I did a lot of calling for several weeks first, to see if they had even rec'd the petition from USCIS.  Then, calling more to get the NVC #.

This is what happens when I put my number

Based on what I have read of others experiences, I thought processing at NVC once you got a case # assigned was only supposed to be a couple of weeks.

However, do bear in mind what has happened to us -- NVC did not even receive our petition from USCIS until 32 days had passed. That is an unusually long amount of time compared to everyone else's experience, which was 2 weeks max.

Believe me, I know it's nerve wracking waiting and not knowing what is going on!

Ugh it's an awful feeling! I call everyday and it makes me sick to my stomach

I feel like a big dummy but I have to ask...

OK, I received my NOA2 on February 16. I read that I should contact NVC to get my case number. Why?

So that I can schedule the medical?

What other good is the NVC case number? Exactly how will having the case number speed up the process?

Also, when will NVC bill me?

    Thanks in advance!

I am also very confused about this, I called NVC and they gave me a case number on Feb 16th  but they haven't sent the papers to his embassy. Does anyone know how long it takes? They told me you can't set anything up until the embassy physically gets all the papers. ?

    Hi everyone.

I'm from Venezuela and I'm veeery worry and sad for Trump's executive order, that quotes:

"In addition to the seven banned countries above, the executive order also permits U.S. authorities to refuse admission to individuals from any other country or territory that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated as a safe haven for terrorists. Currently, the State Department lists the following areas as terrorist safe havens, meaning residents from the following countries could be refused entry into the United States:

    ·         Egypt
    ·         Lebanon
    ·         Afghanistan
    ·         Pakistan
    ·         Colombia
    ·         Venezuela
    ·         Southern Philippines
    ·         Trans-Sahara (Mali)
    ·         The Sulu/Sulawesi Seas Littoral

On Saturday (January 28) a U.S. federal judge temporarily suspended portions of the order to allow people with valid documentation who landed in the U.S. to stay in the country.

However, those with valid U.S. visas or green cards could be denied entry into the U.S. due to the President’s executive order."

We (my fiance and I) are afraid that this might turn in a DENIAL!! :crying::crying::crying:

Do u think that will affect us???

We were planning since the begining to apply for an expedite because of Venezuela's bad situation but now we don't know what to dooo :crying::crying::crying:

Where did you see this! ??

You got the Golden Wonka Ticket!

    Congrats.

Are you sure it wasn't just a dream? May members here have been dreaming of NOA 2 LOL

    No need to call USCIS.

In 10-14 days start calling NVC to get you case number.

In the mean time the foreigner in the relationship can start filling out the Visa Application DS-160

    https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

You may want to head over to the regional forum for South America.

    Happy Days!!!

    Jim

Lol!! Thank god it wasn't a dream, I hope everyone gets some good news. Thanks for the info!
