  1. Can Anyone please tell me if i need Police Certificate from Pakistan for NVC process. The only reference I have is this: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Pakistan.html under R visa it says we don't need it. Now, I am getting mixed information from people who have went through this process. Can anyone please assist me? Thanks!!

I can’t believe they are still telling you to wait. What the heck can they be taking so long to check... I’m so sorry that you’re going through this... I pray you get approved like soon...

Thank you sundee. They told us our fike hs been pulled up by investigtion bureau maybe FBI. They said no one can help us and expedite it..not ucsic, senator or anyone. So i looked up how long does it take for people before me. And it says it can take upto 1 to 5 years. I dont know how i will spend that much time away from my husband. Now i really have no hope left.

  3. To everyone's astonishment, i have not been approved yet. Its been 13 months and few days. My pd is Dec5 2016. My husband received a letter on 5 jan, saying they re doing an additional review on our case. This is wht they told us on dec 8 and asked us to wait till jan 8. And they sent us this letter saying your case is taking longer than normal processing time because of background investigation. This is just devastating news. Does anyone have any idea how long can be these background investigations? They have asked us to patiently wait till next notice.

Hello, I am now in a weird situation with having two different dates for my immigrant visa interview, both designated by the U.S. Embassy.

My expedite request have accepted on December 30, 2017 and there was an interview date in the letter came from NVC. It says:  ''The U.S. Embassy has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file we'll be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy. The U.S. Embassy wanted us to relay the information that they have scheduled an appointment for January 9, 2018 at 8 am.''

Because of this letter, I prepared my documents, scheduled for tomorrow all my plans including medical exam (900km away) and the hotel. But just a few hours ago, I received my interview notice from NVC with another interview date. It says, ''Your  interview date is on February 28, 2018 at 7:30 am.''

I tried to call the embassy but there was no way to reach a real person. I don't know what was happened there, but what I know is that this is a big mess. Should I go to the Embassy on Jan 9? or skip it and go there on Feb 28? Does anybody have any experience with this kind of situation or any idea?

    Many thanks in advance.

I dont have any experience of such situation. But from what i understand is, they have expedite your case and gave you an earlier interview date. And the message you received later of 28 Feb means there was an automated system of sending interview calls hence you receivedthe date that was previously determined. I suggest you should definitely go for interview on Jan 9. Do not miss otherwise you will again have to apply for itnerview date and it might take a while. I hope interview goes well for you. Best of luck

  5. Okay so we received email from senator few mins ago.  It reads as follows:

I spoke with USCIS.  The case was sent to an officer on December 8th for additional review.  I was told to call back in 4 weeks because sometimes it can be fast, other times it can be a while.  Let’s touch base on the week of January 8th, and I’ll follow up with the liaison at USCIS.

I felt myheart skipped a beat or two. I have just lost all my words.

Can anyone help me and tell me why do theyhave to do this additional review and make us feel like criminals or something.... i am just losing myself right now.

Hi! Same here..havent heard anything yet. My PD is Dec 5, 2016. Uscis told us to wait till Dec 17. One week left and honestly i have no hope of hearing anything next week too. This is unbearable. What do you have in mind if we dont hear anything this week too? I see no way at all that might help us and this is so hopeless.

It seems like a lot of policy decisions get made behind the scenes. It doesn't make sense why someone in your situation would be processed differently. My speculative theory is that service center is very behind and is doing things to keep their metrics up. This includes throwing people in high fraud countries into administrative processing or taking longer to close the i129 to buy time to complete the i130. I do not have anything to back up this theory but there has to be a reason why they are approaching cases differently. It does not appear this is a USCIS approach as I have seen cases from other service centers get approved in 5-6 months. I do believe what they are doing is specific to that service center and is not being practiced at other USCIS centers.

The other approach I found disappointing was Nebraska not processing applications on the basis if the spouse is living abroad. If you look back to threads from a few years ago service centers such as California (which barely processes i130's anymore) used to fast track foreign spouses. Their i130's would be approved within 1-2 months. This is just my peanut gallery opinion but someone doing AOS without the threat of deportation should be waiting longer than a family who is split up abroad. But they process all applications in the date they receive them (or so they say). Add on further delays if a case does not fit within the scope of normal and it's even a longer wait.

My level of disappointment stems from the fact this service center is clearly behind other service centers. Now that I have been approved I can simply move on. But I honestly feel for anyone who is left behind. It is not fair one couple will get through the whole process in 8 months and another couple such as myself will wait more than 9 1/2 months to have my i130 approved (obviously many of you longer). I was under the impression USCIS would at least transfer files to other centers to even out work load. But for some reason as Nebraska has gotten further behind they have not.

Thank you summing it up... what you said makes so much sense. I totally agree about thorwing people from hugh fraud countries in to back pile of files. This is so stressing and painful. Some time i just lose all my patince and some days, i am very strong. I have no clue what to hope.

I noticed this correlation months ago the people who filed for the K3 (i129 & i130) were delayed a further 1-2 months behind other i130 applications. Quite a few people got upset with me for suggesting this so I stopped saying so in case I was wrong.

Yes i think i remember your post relating to this and i did talked to my husband about it. We were so worried so we called uscis a couple of times and requested to talk to tier 2 representative. My husband asked him if our i129f is effecting our i130, he said no and he sounded so sure. Well, it turned out it was true, as when we approached congressman and he contacted uscis, they responded that our case has pd 23Dec ( which is our i129f noa1 date not i130) and they said that they are working on cases older than ours and that we should wait till 17 dec.

My wife is a Lpr and I’m Egyptian we got married her in Egypt in November 2016 then she filed form i130 for me and send it at 28 December 2016

i got my friest Noa at 7 January 2017.my case was transferred to California Service Center.and they’ gave me case number starts with wac170********.they said that they got my package and they working on my case.

now since that date we didnt got any notice of action yet its almost 12months

I would be so thankful for any one share his experience with me please

    Hello Adel!

California service center is faster than Nebraska service center. My husband filled i130 on 27Nov 2016 and we received our noa1 on Dec5 2016 and we are still waiting for noa2. There is one thing, if your wife has filled i129F then it may delay the process as it has delayed our.

Received an email today from USCIS it was a service request for an i-129f which I had already filed my i-130 I wish to God I never would have filed that I 129f my email stated wait 60 days it is being reviewed by an officer, do you think this is why my case is moving so slow in Nebraska I really think it's everybody but I wished I'd never filed that

Yep! I did my research and found out that those who are skipped filled both i129f and i130. So yeah its true

I'm December 6 and waiting patiently, I was told by uscis to call them on the 25th if I haven't heard anything, so...

I am dec 5 filler and in response to my inquiry, i was told to call uscis if i dont hear anything by the 10th of this month. Still havent heard anything. Two days ago they updated our status to "inquiry has been assigned to an officer ". Now it has been updated to "response to your inquiry has been sent by officer " and they said that if we dont receive it we can submit another inquiry after two months. This is simply ridiculous. Its like they are playing with us. They have no idea how badly this delay has effected our lives. But they dont seem to care.
