  1. Good luck to all that are still waiting!!!

    Receipt Number: _________________

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status:

This case has been approved. On September 11, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours

    Congratulations and smooth sailing.

  2. Swamped - Congrats! You were long overdue. What country are you petitioning for? If you have a timeline, it's not linked. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience. Please keep us posted on your future success stories. - Sheriff Uling

Sheriff, I didn't actually post a linked timeline; I just have my timeline as part of my signature. Thank you, by the way, and many thanks to all of you for the "congrats" And for those still waiting, I now know that it WILL happen. Hang in there.

    Ron :D

  3. To all of you still waiting, have faith, it will happen. I'm quite new here at VJ. My timeline will show that I've been biting my nails for a while. I got my approval today in the mail. I want those who are waiting to know that I did not have any "touches" nor did I receive any email. The approval came in snail mail. I'm so happy right now that I have gotten out of CIS. Good Luck to those waiting. Hang in there!

  4. What we think is a marriage broker is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what IMBRA defines as an IMB, what USCIS thinks is an IMB as defined by IMBRA, and whether USCIS think the law has been complied with in each case.

What Gary says is also right. I've seen many members who answered "Yes" to whether or not they used a marriage broker, get approved. I have also seen many who answered "No" get approved. I believe some people are either ignoring or not reading the "exceptions" to the law correctly. JMO

  5. What Rebeccajo said above. Pay particular attention to the "exceptions." I used AsiaEuro. They do not consider their site as a marriage broker. A marriage broker is some company or someone who charges you money (quite a lot) to hook you up with a potential spouse. Most dating/personal sites do not do that. Usually you pay a fee, but you are free to choose or write to whomever you wish. ;)

  6. I know I havent been on a lot recently. With that being said, I want to say congrats to everyone that got the approvals that I missed. It just got frustrating seeing all the approvals but mine. I am truly happy for you that are getting approved now and wish you the best of luck and a speedy completion of this process.

With that being said, anyone that knows a little dance, prayer, superstition, or anything else that they think they could do to envoke the mighty at the CSC into giving my approval soon I would appreciate it.

Kat, have a drink for me. One to celebrate your well deserved approval, then one to make up for the fact I am not doing it as much as this could drive anyone to drinking.

I'm right there with you, Wolf. It's starting to be ridiculous. I'm happy for those who have been approved, but for those of us still waiting - I know your pain. I wonder how many are still waiting who filed their petitions in Jan/Feb/March? by the way, USCIS has updated their dates again, but, from what I am told, it means absolutely NOTHING. ;)

  7. technically, if we send in an incomplete form, then it is incomplete! realistically though, most people get approved very soon after a second RFE.

But if you send in a "complete" form and then they ask for "additional" evidence, then they should keep your original filing date. You paid the fee, your form or petition was complete and your filing date should not have to start all over again when you send in the RFE. Just my opinion :clock:

  8. Right now I'm learning about stressors and the effects they can have on the body. We've learned about G.A.S. (General Adaptation Stress) and how if it builds up, it can lead up to physiological distress. To this end, I thought I'd do some venting so I don't start getting headaches and ####### like that.

Now, I realize that I'm just under two months wait time since my NOA1, but I just have to vent a little. While I'm happy that some people continue to get their petition approvals from the VSC under 30 days, do we need a frickin' thread about it? Seriously, have some respect for those that have been waiting for five months and still have nothing. You've waited less than 30 days and you act like it's an achievement. It's not that I'm trying to belittle your happiness, but think about how the other side may feel for a second before you post your "OMGzOrz, IT'S A MIRACLE, APPROVED IN UNDER 30 DAYS...I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD COME!!!2111" threads.

ALSO, DID I PAY 170 PESOS WHEN I SENT IN MY PAYMENT? That's what it feels like. We ALL pay the same amount but VSC actually affords their petitioners with answers and actual results. Didn't we all pay the same amount? Someone mentioned discrimination and that's what this is...it's a case of geographical discrimination. It's sh1tty, that's what it is.

Again, please apologize for my comments...I just felt like I needed to vent. I really do feel a little bit better now.

Great post mrc. Say what you mean and mean what you say. I'm now at the six month mark and, you are right, it really does get under your skin a little bit when you read about someone who was approved in 30 days or so. I, too, wish them well and a fast process. Maybe, in their excitement they don't realize how it effects those who have been checking USCIS 395 times a day for the last six months. :clock:

  9. Check out the USCIS website and read what it says. Each time you send in an RFE, they can start counting your six months all over again without giving you credit for the time you have already waited (or should I say wasted).

"If we ask for missing required initial evidence, count the processing time from when we receive the missing evidence."

What do you think of them apples?

  10. I guess if there are applications pending for the month or Feb then that should be the case. They should not hold the innocent people unfairly. I guess it should have been first come first served. So now they might start the process in a routine manner. Good luck for those in Feb and cheers to whole USCIS.

I know this sounds optomistic, but I believe that even though the date is now in February... IMBRA filers will not wait that much longer. 1st because they have already approved alot of people with march april and may noa1's. All it means is that at least 1 i129f hasnt been processed that was a noa1 in late feb.

You are correct about this. You cannot go by the dates posted on the CSC site. They probably found a couple cases that should have been processed which caused them to change the date back to February 23rd. This coming week they can just as easily jump the date back up to the middle or end of March. Everything I've ever read about these dates all say that they don't mean squat. Hang in there folks, I am.

    Ron ;)

  11. Wolf - I know how you feel. Let's see, now I'm at about 170 days. For the last 3 weeks I've been checking several times a day. Every week I think, "I really should hear something this week." Every day I check USCIS and, as far as I can tell, there is nothing, zilch, nada, going on. No touches, no emails, nothing. The only thing I got from them was a message that me password was expiring and to change it. That's it. Good luck to all of us "oldies" who are waiting for an approval. This has to be the slowest process in the history of mankind.

  12. IF I could get my baby here with a tourist or any other visa, i would do it. then 'decide' to get married. That was never an option since philippines seem to to think that the 'tourist visas' are the holy grail so noone seems allowed to touch or have them.

    Wolf

That is true with China as well. They absolutely do not issue travel visas. It is true that you will see a "group" of tourists from China, but I'll wager that they have had their passports pulled and someone else is holding them..
