Hey Id&Rd - don't piss them yet, wait until the interview! LOL

Have you tried this number?

How long does it take to get an e-mail response, on average?
It usually took about 3 or 4 work days to get an answer. I emailed them about 4 or 5 times and always got a response. I also never had a problem calling them at 603-334-0700

The others are right. In AR, they run a name check to make sure you are who you say you are. With the thousands of petitions they deal with, it takes about two weeks. Good luck.

Thank you swamped and jamrok , you helped alot , you encouraged me , but im just cerious to know what does VO mean ?Thank you swamped and jamrok , you helped alot , you encouraged me , but im just cerious to know what does VO mean
Sorry about that - VO, meaning Visa Officer, or the person who interviews you.

If you are already married now AND your government states that you were NOT married before, AND there is no documentation of a previous marriage, as you say, then I would not raise the issue at the interview. I'm sure that most of us could raise issues about our past lives that would open up a whole new set of problems. It is not like we are trying to hide anything, but, why create problems when it is not called for? However, if you are asked, then you must tell the truth. If you lie, they will catch you. I believe the worst that could happen is having the VO ask a question about your previous marriage. You answer truthfully. The VO may have you return with some kind of proof, whether in a form of a letter, or other documentation, to overcome the denial. That is, in my opinion, the worst case scenario. If the question never comes up, then you are home free. Of course you could alway prepare some kind of notorized proof and bring it with you just in case the issue comes up. These are only my opinions. Others may have other ideas. Good luck.
I also agree with iamrok above. If this previous marriage is legitimate, and there is possibly some documentation laying around somewhere, then don't try to sneak it through at the interview. Cover your bases before you go. Possibly try to reschedule the interview if you need more time.

Okay, Sonna
You say in your post:
im marreid now and in my marriage paper i didnt noticed that i was married beforeNow, either you were married or you were not. If you WERE married, then you need to prove that you are legally divorced before marrying again. Please explain the confusion on whether or not you were married. Maybe there is some information you are leaving out.

I received the letter from the NVC that gave me my new case number. Blah blah.
Will I, the petitioner, receive any sort of notification when the petition is forwarded onto the consulate?
I'm asking as my fiancé a) lives on a farm in the middle of West Nowhere, Alberta, and B) works out of town for weeks at a time. So I basically need to know when I should tell him to start keeping his eyes open for it and arranging for someone to get the mail out of the country mailbox.
No, you will have to call NVC for the date it was sent. You can also email them and they will email back telling you when it was sent.
-
Just make sure that you can absolutely prove that you are divorced. That must be proven.

Got clearance yesterday and case was sent on to the embassy. I was only in adminstrative review for 2 weeks. Good luck to anyone going through this. It shouldn't be long if there are no major problems with your case.

Today I received my petition approval by mail. On October 4 my RFE for the old form was received by CSC, I had quite a few touches since then but there is no update on the USCIS website and I didn't receive any emails since the RFE receipt. When I got home from work today, the hard copy was in the mail. The thing is that this process has been so frustrating I don't even know if I feel happy about it but I'm guess I'm that much closer to reaching the goal. Just for others who are crazy with the waiting......hope they sent out approvals for everyone on October 12!!The thing is that this process has been so frustrating I don't even know if I feel happy about it but I'm guess I'm that much closer to reaching the goal
I know what you mean. After waiting so long, it sort of takes the excitement out of it. But, think positive, you have, once again, set sail. Good luck.

Be careful. If a VO found out you paid someone to be your co-sponsor, it would not be good.
-
I think you forgot about "name checks" they take longer for some reason.
-
Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm hearing everything from A to Z on this one.
-
Has anyone experienced administrative review for name check in the past or present?
-
Also, remember if you'rs says in "Administrative Review," it can mean anything. It's just a broad term they use that means they might be checking a date or something, or, it might mean nothing at all.

Happy for you. Congratulations and keep on truckin'

And here's another take on it. Mine is at NVC and has been issued a number. However, this is a recent email I received:
"Good afternoon,
Your inquiry has been received at the NVC. As part of the aftermath of the events of September 11, 2001, there are additional security check requirements for visa applicants. While it is not possible to predict when the clearances for this case will be finished by all involved Washington agencies, please be assured that as soon as the results are received, the case file will be forwarded to the appropriate US Embassy or Consulate General."
So, it's anybody's guess on how long it gets hung up at NVC because of more security checks.
-
It is true what Devilette says. Once the NOA2 is issued you are done with USCIS. The touches could mean they've moved it from one desk to the other and then to the mail room. Give it a few days then call NVC. Most of the people there are very nice. You will be given a new number and go through another name check or "security check" as they call them. Good luck.
-
I never received any "touches" or any email. The approval notice was in my mail box.

You don't need an attorney unless you can't read and follow instructions. It's not that difficult and a lawyer will just rip you off.

Quoting Frank at CFL - for the year 2006 100% of the poverty level for two people is $13,200 for the "lower 48 states" -
Thanks to Frank and I hope this helps

To all of you who are waiting - I know exactly how you feel. Yesterday, I came home and got the mail out of my mailbox and there it was - my approval. There were no "touches" there were no emails. It will happen for you - It takes an incredible amount of patience, but do not give up, ever, ever, ever. Good luck to all of you.

Oh great news ! Congratulations to you both ! My faith is slowly returning seeing all these March approvals. It is getting a bit overwhelming, but in a good way .
Keep the faith going. Yours should be coming up soon.
