  1. Alright, so DeathKnell..piss off already u twit...I wont give you the benefit of the doubt. You are a troll, but it was fun to read anyway.

On another note, several folks give advice not to plan their weddings until the visa is in hand...I am curious about what people did as far as providing evidence that a marriage would actually take place. I felt safe in providing them wedding invites, engagement ring receipts, and a letter from the wedding coordinator/pastor, but in doing this, I had to come up with a date far in the future. I got the impression that that's what they were looking for for evidence. Thoughts?

It is not a requirement to show evidence that a wedding will take place other then the letter of intent. Any evidence submitted with the petition is only to prove that you met within the required two year period, to satisfy the requirement of the I-129F for a fiance. Evidence of an ongoing relationship is required at interview stage and even then the letter of intent is all that is required to show that you intend to marry. Evidence of an engagement ie ring receipt may be submitted at with the initial filing of the petition but that is seperate to the evidence of having met. Nowhere does it state that one must show evidence such as wedding invites etc that a marriage will take place. Some of this evidence may be beneficial if it helps to complete the picture in that you have actually met in person in the 2 years.

Ah, I knew that "Immigration Made Easy" book I bought last year was a waste of $50.00. That book actually recommended submitting a letter from your pastor, wedding invites etc. I wish I would have known about this site before I sent my petition in...no matter though, I think I've provided enough evidence of us meeting in the past couple years (airline tix stubs, cruise itineraries, pictures of us, passport stamp photocopies). I pray that's enough. So yes, that never made much sense to me....how can you plan a wedding without a visa in hand. Oh well, we had originally planned the wedding in November, but I suspect we're not going to make it....plus she needs several weeks to quit her job etc etc once the visa is approved. At least I wont have to go back and get new wedding invites/letter from pastor with an updated date, since they didn't need it anyways. Thanks for the info. :innocent:

  3. Is it now required to fill out a background check form for the K-1 petition for the US citizen? I have heard about it but I can't find the form. I've heard it's a new requirement. If it's true does anybody know where I can find the form online?

    Thanks,

    C.

I've never heard of such a form and I doubt they've come up with another new I-129F this fast. Just follow the instructions on the I-129F, and you'll be golden. If the I-129F doesn't mention it, then you wouldn't need it. :hehe:

  4. I was trying to access the case status page all evening and it wasn't letting me log in, I checked it a few minutes ago to see that I was touched today! Hopefully this is a good sign! I didn't notice any other Thursday touches.... am I the only one?

We were finally touched today as well. Hopefully just a few more days..... :dancing:

  5. The way things been going, how much longer do you think it's gonna take for them to reach to the July cases? Seems like they are about five months behind according to their web site. But yet I'm seeing many threads claiming that some of the June cases have been approved. If so why aren't they updating their status?

If they have one case left from March 6, they do not change their processing dates. And due to IMBRA, they have many many many March cases still left. No way to know when they will get to July - there is no order or logic to the process. They will get to you when they do and pay no attention to the processing dates they post.

I just got off the phone with the senators office. Apparently this is completely random. The CSC USCIS director decided that the best way to process these going forward is to stuff all the petitions in a pinata, blindfold the temp, and have him whack it with a stick. Whichever petition falls out first, is processed first. If it's too damaged by the stick wacking it gets stuffed back in the pinata for more whacking. I hope this clears things up.

  6. Does the petitioner get called into the USCIS office for an interview too? I am just wondering?

    Thanks,

If you mean the US Consulate overseas where your fiance will interview, the answer is no. You may however accompany your fiance when he/she interviews at whichever consulate... always a good idea to show up at their interviews, but never required by any means.

  7. Should or can a one way ticket be used on a K1 visa for her coming here?

Sure this has been asked a million times but was nto able to search and find the anwser.

    Thanks

Yes a one-way ticket is the way to go in this case since the intent is for her to stay in the US. If this were something like a tourist visa, then a one way ticket would of course be an issue at immigration. There are some cases however where you can actually purchase a R/T ticket cheaper than one way, so look for the best deal and roll with it.

  8. no they asked for 2 pictures of us together in the last 2 years with dates on them...

so do I just make up approxiamte dates?

If you're not sure about the dates and if the pictures weren't dated when you developed/printed them, 'guess' an approximate date and take joone745's advice, if you took digital pictures:

If your picture was taken using a digital camera then you can go to either ofoto.com or shutterfly.com. You can also go to your nearest Walgreens store to have it printed with the dates.

There is no requirement for you to provide date on photos of the two of you together. The proof that you have both met in the past two years will come from other sources such as airline tickets etc. However, the passport photos should have a name and date written on the back.
