  1. I have several questions.....

    1.    Ok...my fiance will be doing his interview soon, but I'm unsure what to do with packet 3. On timelines I am seeing sent packet 3 dates. Where am I sending packet 3 to? I thought packet 3 is supposed to be given to the interviewer, at the time of the interview, by the beneficiary. Is that incorrect?

    2.    I was told for my fiance to bring a replica of the I-129F. I have a copy (that i will give to him to take to the interview) except I updated it with..... the new call logs, pictures, and evidence of meeting in person from my recent trip. I did how ever remove the copies of every page of my passports. I have 2 and that;s like 60 pages of paper. Should the new info be in a separate folder with packet 3? Should I still keep every page of my passport besides the data page? This is confusing me so much!

    3.    Last question... after approval how long does it take to get the visa?

Hm, that was just my impression from a while ago. So I just found the instruction of I-864 that "Expires 07/31/2017". here is some quote from Page 7:

    2. If you included the income of the intending immigrant who is your spouse (he or she would be counted in Part 5., Item Number 1.), you must provide evidence that his/her income will continue from the current source after obtaining lawful permanent resident status, and the intending immigrant must provide evidence that he or she is living in your residence.

In addition, the immigrant's assets can also be used, and this is quoted form Page 9:

Item Numbers 6. - 9. Assets of the Intending Immigrant. You may use the assets of the intending immigrant regardless of where he or she resides. The intending immigrant must provide evidence of such assets with this affidavit. Add together Item Numbers 6. - 8. and enter the total number in Item Number 9. Form I-864A is not required to document the intending immigrant’s assets.

Hopefully I am not missing or misunderstanding something.

I have no idea what i just read........ but a small part of me is panicking.... btw i have ADHD its sooo hard for me to get all these acronyms... and forms.... income this... spouse that... assets... form h329d3iie3...then fill out form292973jso. what you just typed.... Thats exactly what my brain heard. I cant wait for this to be over in.... some years how ever long this process takes....:blink::ranting:

If I understand you correctly.  Your fiance needs International Passport. I just want to warn you to hurry up and figure out the process cause my fiance's passport got stolen and the replacement to more than 2 months because Nigeria ran out of booklets sometime last year and are about 2 to 3 months behind in processing.  He even paid for an expedite and the agent kept lying telling him it was almost ready for a month. Finally he traveled from Lagos to Abuja and found out it had not even started processing yet (all the while the agent was asking for additional money).

wow thats terrible. Im going to ask him to go and get one tomorrow.

  5. i got my info from visa journey please im so confused everytime i look somewhere it says something different

You can't help your fiance pay online ,ask your fiance to do it him or her self, and are you saying your fiance does not have an international passport????

if no ask him or her to got to the nearest immigration office, and it can be issued a day if you want it urgently

Yes he needs an international passport. but on the nigerian consulate it says i can pay online thats why i asked.... it says different passport amounts but im unsure how much because idk which passport he needs is that the one that costs 95 USD.

    my records indicate

    265 for visa

    140 ro schedule the interview

    95 for the passport

    is this about right?

  8. Please help! I just received my noa2 and the NVC is sending my i129f to Nigeria now. I need to help my fiance get a passport, visa so he can schedule the interview and complete his ds-160. I heard i was able to do that before the  embassy send me the instructions.... is that true?

Also I would like to pay for my fiances visa or passport online if possible have any of you paid online with you debit card? or does he have to do it from his bank aaccount?

Please i want to do this ASAP because i am leaving to nigeria in less than a month!

  9. Pretty soon we should be seeing some approvals... in the mean time. I have my case number and everything. Me and my fiance are going over the ds-160. My fiance has and address but not a mail box so mail never gets recieved there. The questions asks if mailing address is the same as the Home address. Can my fiance put my address instead... if they send him something theres no way to get it. I tried to send papers before and it didnt work for that reason.

you can help him fill it out but he HAS to be the one who electronically signs it. we sent ours in after the case status on the ceac site showed ready

Ok he can fill it out but i want to help him because hes like me...easily confused with paper work lol....Ok when u say electronic signature ...u mean he has to type his name correct? not physically sign it?

  11. Thanks for the help you guys! well since we had a good night yesterday, I have a feeling they may have a good day again today really feeling for everyone that hasnt been approved. I was a MESS while i was waiting. IDK how some of you are so calm! Lets speak some positivity into existence. THERE WILL BE APPROVALS from our THREAD tonight! (fingers crossed)

Believe the DS-160 is for the beneficiary to fill out. I think once it is filled out you can schedule an interview for your consulate but will need medical exam also to bring to consulate also. Had your case been received by the NVC yet? I saw upthread where you were trying to call them.

no it hasnt reached them yet...but someone told me to start filling out ds160 and i didnt know if it was for me or my fiance.... im the petitioner. so does that mean i should wait until they get the packet? It asks for us social seccurity number...he doesnt even have a social yet so im so confused ugh!

WHAT should i be doing while i wait for NVC to get my application? I just want to do things asap because my trip to nigeria is in 4 weeks and it was so hard getting on the internet or doing anything while i was there.

  13. Sorry guys.... I looked up the DS-160 on the uscis website and i just dont quite understand. Should i be filling this out now and submitting it or do i need to wait until NVC... or the Nigerian consulate to receive my application. All this stuff is so confusing to me... i read the frequently asked questions and im still confused.

Also it asks for origin ...im african american...and nigerian.... born in america... but i dont see the united states as a choice so i put nigeria.... am i supposed to fill out my info or his because then next question asks... have i lived in any country besides my origin..... which was nigeria... i cant put yes because there is no united states...im so confused

Hey everyone!  I got my text at 7:30 PST today.  We are APPROVED!!!   Wow can't believe the day has come.

Wasn't paying attention to my phone until I was getting ready to turn in.  Yup. Looks like we are making more progress!  But why haven't some of you before me gotten some notice yet?  Here's to more approvals tomorrow!  Good Luck!

Here is some information for whatever it's worth. According to the app my case was approved on January 24. I never received a text or email for the NOA2 and would not have known but for daily checking the app.

They mailed my hard copy the next day on the 25th and I received it today on the 30th. So 6 days from approved until hard copy in hand.

Still hoping for all of you waiting for NOA2...I will give updates through NVC so others have some time estimates as they go forward. After that it is pretty embassy specific I think.

good luck to everyone this week!

Same with me but I got my email maybe 4 to 5 days later.
