my case was in AP for 1 year after the CO asked me to bring tax transcript whenever they call. I gathered the year tax script that they want and that was Dec 2011 and when i was finally asked to to come to the embassy with the requested documents that i even had at hand,The CO did not even look at it.He just asked me for my new medicals updates and police report and i was given slip to come and pick my visa in 2 week time and that was Friday Dec.28 2012.Wish u the best of Luck

Depends on why you got the 221g. Has that problem been fixed? If not, then a second interview may not go well. Good to see that you got a 2nd interview though.

Yes it is, it only means they are working on your case and your status will change to issued any time. Hope you get your visa soon.

AP can take any given amount of days, months even years I hear.

It all depends on if they gave a slip for you to turn in evidence, If they kept your passport. No one can really say.

I was in AP 32 days with approval held up in name check.

I got generic answers from the embassy so my Senators office moved things along and got me better answers.

Its a long time.. its very bad that AP takes so much time for some cases with no reason,, sometimes i think they forget us .

So my interview for a K1 visa is January 20th. Wondering what some of you guys did/do to pass the time!? Seems like an eternity away!

Its really stressful situation, i had my interview on 16 MAy.

It was such a bad day for me but i pray for u not to be same like mine.

After all the arrangements for documents and staff that me and my fiance had done we ourselves tought there wouldnt been any thing result in not issuing visa... at time of interview CO gave me 221g letter that my case goes under AP for 2 month and after that they will let us know the furtur instructions.. today its passed 7 month but still on AP.. i never forget that day...

although ive heard of so many cases that the visa issued for them 4 days aftr interview . I hope urs is like them.

Just keep calm and answer all questions to the point with ni extra explnations.

Did the CO retain her passport??

Mine changed 2 month after interview in ceac to AP process .

Unfortunately they are sometimes too slow to change the statu . I hope it wouldnt be like mine .

AP is usually name checks and background checks on the visa applicant. The time it takes for the process to be complete varies from person to person. Some of these cases are usually forwarded to the DOS for more thorough name checks. I have heard of cases that take up to a year under AP. If you have a clean record then you have nothing to worry about, most cases are usually approved in the end. All you can do now is wait. They should be calling you any time to ask for your passport. We are so sorry to hear that you are under AP for 7 months, it's so frustration. Well, the issuance of 221g has a different options in your case it was for messing documents, did she tick in AP box?

updates are always GREAT because it means they working on it, in case gets update due to email sending from your side that's not the update you are seeking it.

what we did and I always thank Allha for that is keep emailing the embassy to understand what's going on! even we get used to get the generating auto answer is the case un AP!

I would recommend you to cal DOS! try to be clear and have the list of questions to inquire about your visa status! like is it approved or not yet? because it might be approved but under AP!

is the case at the embassy level for AP or in DC? last but not least any sign that the AP clearance will be finished soon? you will be lucky to find a pleasant person to pick up your phone like what happened with us and provide us all POSITIVE signs of our case.

stay tight and strong, it's worth it to wait and be with your loved once. keep pray and have a faith in Allah you will reach your distance.

I do not think you have to wait another year, they will review the results from the field investigation (home visit) and

make a decision soon, unless they have to verify other documents or do security checks.

Hopefully you will hear some positive news soon, you can email them and inquire about your current status

once a month or so.

We were in AP 16 months and then the visa was refused and we re filed, our visa journey took 5 years.

You mean after 16 month they refused your visa?? What was the reason ?? Ur case was K1 too??
