  1. Hi everyone,

After almost a month waiting.. we finally got our interview date!

And... it's on the same day as we have a flight to Brazil to see go see my family after one year apart.

The thing is, our interview is at 10 AM and the flight is only at 10 PM - So we were planning on going to the interview and then going to the airport. But I'm scared if that's gonna mess up me coming back into the US.

I read about some people that got approved on the spot and go the stamp, people that didn't get the stamp, people that weren't approved on the spot.

So I'm not sure if it's better to reschedule the interview or not.

I would really appreciate some help.

    Thanks

    1. You both need to fill out an I-134 and supply documentation with it.

    2. It really doesn't matter since you're using a co-sponsor. You could put $0.00 as income since you're a student or supply what you can. Doesn't make any difference honestly.

    3. For her, she should provide current pay stubs(3 months worth) to show current income. She could supply banking statements if wanting to show savings (generally 12 months worth), or other things for assets (appraised home/cars/ect)

    4. This can be explained at the interview. Plus with you being the petitioner and showing no income basically, it will be fairly easy to tell.

Thank you so much for this.

When supplying my documentation - what would that mean for me? What would I need to supply for myself other than the form?

Do you think it would be best to put $0 or to put my income? I know you said it doesn't matter either way but do you think there is a better way to approach it?

Thanks again, you really helped me out.

  3. Hello all,

I am having some difficulty figuring out the I-134 form, and am hoping someone can help me out.

I am currently a full time college student. I work part time through an organization at my university, and also am interning at another company this summer. However, that being said I don't meet the poverty guidelines for the USA, so I am having my mother be the Co-Sponsor for my fiance. That being said, I have a few questions regarding this form.

    1. Do myself AND my mother BOTH need to fill out the I-134 separately. If so is there parts that I should leave out or she should leave out?

    2. Since I do not meet the guidelines for poverty - do I need to provide proof of my income (job statement/bank statement)? Will it look good to just show them I have somewhat of an income?

    3. We are providing my mothers proof of job/income and her bank statement as evidence that she is above poverty. Will this be sufficent? I read online many people giving long lists of proof - while the instructions on the form only ask for those 2 things.

    4. How will they know my mother is the co-sponsor?

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated I am very confused with this portion of the process

    We called 1-800-375-5283.

We had some problems getting our case number to be accepted.. but if you press nothing when you call you eventually get through as they presume something is wrong (the key to speaking to a person on any automated system is to intentionally press the wrong thing until they figure you need manual help!).

What did you say when talking to the person answering the phone? I want to make sure I ask the right things to prevent them from becoming irritated

I'd like to say THANK YOU for sharing this information.

We were waiting for an update after sending USCIS our RFE a couple weeks ago, and despite having nothing in the mail or any updates online, my partner just received a call back and was informed that our case has been approved since May 19th and our NOA-2 is in the mail!

We wouldn't have even considered calling if you hadn't posted, so congratulations to you but more importantly thank you for sharing!

For others who have had bad experience calling, perhaps it's just bad luck...but the agent was super helpful, polite, and courteous! Stay positive, stay friendly, and keep trying! ❤

Do you happen to have the phone number used?

As long as your consulate accepts joint sponsors the needed information will be presented at interview.  The joint sponsor will bascially need to provide the same documentation as the petitioner that is listed in the K1 guide.   You should also receive the checklist of what is needed in packet 3.

Just a note:  you may want to correct your timeline as you were not transfered to California Service Center/CSC.  All I-129f petitions are sent to the the Texas lock box (which is different from the Texas Service Center/TSC) then forwarded onto the appropriate processing center.  You may see a change in your approximate adjudication date.

Thank you for that great information! I've read conflicting things and some people have said there is a different form beside the I-134 when using a joint sponsor. Is this true? If so do I still fill both out?

    Thanks again

  7. Hi everyone,

I am still in college as well as work a few part time jobs, and I do not meet the requirements at this time to sponsor my fiance by myself. However, my mother agreed to becoming the joint/co-sponsor for us. But we do not know if this changes anything.

Is there a special form when having a joint sponsor? Are there extra steps we should take to be careful or avoid any delays?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

  8. I recently sent my petition out on January 17th.

I received my NOA1 Electronic on January 24th, and the physical on January 28th. The petition was sent to the California service center. Is there any way to track where they are at with dates/petitions?  Or

maybe someone that is around my timeframe that can help give an estimate when I will hear back again.

    Thanks in advance

YESSS!!!!! SCAN EVERY PAGE!!!  Even though you know that you only have info on the first 8 pages - THEY don't know that you do, right? If you don't scan every page (even the blank ones) they don't know that you didnt go to 84 countries on the other pages!

    Thank you!

Also should my fiance scan his entire passport as well? He only scanned his passport picture page as well as his visa and his passport stamps for the trips to visit me. We included these on the proof of seeing each other page, but we are unsure if we should provide all of his pages as well or not.
