  1. (L)(F) Boaz, I'm still shocked and I can't stop thinking of your situation. I admired you two a lot and I also never suspected that you would be here to tell this story. You're a really strong woman and I know you will take good care of the baby throughout this ordeal. I will do as you said and continue to pray. No matter which direction this turns, I wish you the best of luck and many blessings. (F)

Boaz my heart goes out to you. I too have been suffering in silence since November, my husband after 5 years left me when his 10 year greencard came in the mail. He left me and never looked back. It was very hard for me, I just wanted to die. I loved that man with my entire being. LL and 1 other person here on VJ know the truth. I can not hold it in any longer. Boaz my heart is with you. Please if you want to talk I am here for you PM me and I will be more than happy to give you my number or you can get it from LL. Peace we will carry on and be stronger for our experience.

  3. If you are a PR/Green Card holder, you are required to report your change of address within 10 days of moving (AR-11) - this doesn't change until you become a US citizen. (Your Sponsor is also required to file a change of address withing 30 days of moving - I-865.) Ramifications for not doing so? Am not certain.

Wow sponsor is required too! I never realised that....I am glad I asked. All though I still would like to know what happens if its not reported....what will they do? Can you be deported for something like that?

  4. This does not make sense to me.....??????

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing!

SO, send this to the women who have a sense of humor and who can handle it ... and to the men who will enjoy reading it.

Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...

  5. So sorry to hear that, he may just be having trouble adjusting. Sometimes when they get here, it is no where NEAR what they thought it was gioing to be.

My husband had a very hard time adjusting, more than once he said he was going home. He is still here and we are still happy. It takes alot of patience and communication, you can get through it.

One thing that really helped my husband was getting out there and working and hearing things from other Americans and learning on his own.

Living here is not easy and it takes a lot of work. Most times they are not expecting that to be the case.

If you want to talk you can PM me.

    Dont give up yet (F)

He wants to give me his GC, SSN & ID card and go back home. :crying:
  6. You have the right to tell your story.

This immigration fraud is NOT isolated to Nigeria, that is very well known. There are plenty of people on this site that would agree.

There is nothing wrong with educating people about what is going on. It may make others uncomfortable to hear it, but maybe they should be asking themselves why they are feeling unconfortable.

I have been on this site for a few years now and I have noticed an increase of stories like this. That is the people who are brave enough to step forward and tell it. There are so many more who suffer in silence, to ashamed and embarrased to say anything. I that it is awful that we dont support people in thier time of need when this happens to them. What are we fair weather friends?

Speak out Missy, use your voice, this happened to you for a reason, its up to you to find the reason and turn this into a positive for you.

    (L) P

Oprah is going Cable. There is still Dr Phill, Date Line, and a book deal. 419 scammers has nothing to do with Immigration totally different story.

Whidbey, if you read through my post I warned woman that Immigration Scams are prevalent. I stated that there were more woman on Visa Journey Nigerian Portal that came back to tell a story of deceit then that came back to tell the story of Glory. There are very successfully relationships, but there are also very sad stories of lies, using, and abuse.

I have not generalized the Nigerian populations in any of my post. Not one. If I do speak of a Nigerian it is because I am talking about my specific personal experience. I think my focus on him was the fact that he was a Christian and can still be a liar and user for the American dream. Becuase he did live his life upright and all other areas.

If there are just as many stories of immigration fraud from African/3rd world countries, there is obvious a need to tell the story to prevent other American's from getting lied to, used, and abused for the American dream. If it makes just one woman more cautious, then that is my goal. God brought me through for a reason. Not just to run and hide with shame and regret. Not going there.

I already have had 3 woman send me notes about how they were frauded too just last week. That are too ashamed to post there stories as others were when I used to post warning about immigration fraud.

A friend from my office was in line getting coffee just yesterday when she overheard a man talk about his sister getting used by a Nigerian for immigration. My mother's daughter inlaw has a freind who was a devout Christian who married a Nigerian in London who used her for two years until he got his 10GC. I have a freind from years back who married an African who left her in just two years. This is just little ole Maine. We complain about USCIS and EMbassy, but they are doing their difficult job to figure out what they are going to do with this new online dating that is clogging the immigration process with woman marrying someone they chat iwth online and visit with for just a week or two.

I hear what you are saying whidbey, but if you have read my past post you would know that I have warned people of exactly what I am going through. There is a manual in Nigeria just on how to use an American for immigraion. My husband used a play by play. He was coached. Every person I interacted with was involved.

  7. I was in a hurry this morning and had and after thought but did not have time to post again. Dateline NBC, they do stories along these lines and have done a story on Nigerian scammers before. You may want to bark up that tree as well, I watch a lot of news programs and talk shows and have not seen one about this kind of scam. You could be the one with the ground breaking story

Pres we think too much alike. I already been saying that to people. I will be on the next Dr. phill or Operah.

People need to know the story of immigration scam. I wish more woman would speak out so they could stop someoen from making a mistake.

    thanks pres!

    Hey Missy,

I was re-reading your posts and I remembered something, way back during a flame war ( I am sure you remember those in this forum  )

Someone had suggested, ( I doubt in a sincere manor) that the poster (if I remember it was Idocare) to go on Dr Phil.

I was thinking about this, I think that it would be benificial for those who have been scammed to try and get a message out to other single women, to try and get on Dr Phil, or Oprah. If several people went to them, I think that they would listen, they say to send in show ideas.

It was just a thought, to send a message to a lot of people.

If you want me to help with this by contacting them too, send me a message or give me a call, I sent you my number in an email

  9. I am so sorry that this happened to you. (F) I hope that you have the strength to stay with this and turn him in. He knowingly commited fraud, he did not have compassion for you, nor for your son. :crying: It really upsets me when there are children involved. Please be an example to everyone and use the information that you have, you were shown that information for a reason. Stay strong. We are all here supporting you. :luv:

  10. No offence to the OP, however this thread seems very strange to me. What exactly are you trying to find out and why? Do you have personal gain in this knowledge that you are so skillfully plucking from people and yet revealing nothing of yourself?

  11. I ate Nigerian food everytime I was in Nigeria. I have never had a problem. I really like Nigerian food and I cook it here at home in the US too. I was really not worried. My Husband would never do anything to harm me. He thoroughly inspected everything and made sure meat was FRESH. I never got sick and never even thought twice about it. I like adventure and to try new things so it really was not an issue for me.

I understand that there are people who dont like to be out of thier comfort zone. Sooo....

If your SO has limited cooking implements. Think of what you would take with you if you went camping!! Think of it that way and maybe it will be easier for you.

I also took a suitcase full of stuff that I never intended to take home with me, (everyone will ask you, what did you bring for me? Visit the dollor store and by a bunch of stuff before you go to hand out to various friends and realatives you will meet ;) ) including the suitcase...your SO is going to need to pack his stuff in something when he makes his journey to the US.

    Good Luck!
