Congratulations! Please continue to fill out your timeline...very interested to know how long it takes from approval to delivery of visa.

The visa was issued today.....It took three days to be issued. I should receive the visa in hand this week........After NCV is done things are over and it just a matter of days after the interview. Just make sure all civil documents original or certified copy must be with you. As far as the i864 no need to have the original signature anymore. I had them with me to give them to the embassy but they told me they're accepting a copy of it and no need for the original blue ink signature anymore

  2. The interview letter states to check if the embassy requires you to register or not. When I checked the link for RID embassy it does require me to register. However, it has only two types of Visa classes either K Visas or Returning Residents and neither one applies to me. My wife's visa is IR-1 and there is no way for me to register for it online. I sent an email to the embassy because it is confusing

Congratulations!!!  I'm glad you didn't had to send back in the same document that they already have.  At least, this is a good success story of speaking to a supervisor directly.

Thank you :jest::D:jest::dance: It's an amazing feeling for sure. I keep checking the status over and over again just to enjoy the three N/A's :jest: I know it's crazy but darn it's worth it

  5. Okay.....I called NVC and after 54 minutes being on hold, I finally got a rep on the phone and he told me my wife's passport after reviewing it by a supervisor yesterday was expired... They couldn't find the extension on her passport because it's hand written and I understand it's very complicated. Of course I flipped .and I requested to speak to a supervisor immediately. He went and after 5 or 7 minutes came back to tell me he couldn't find a supervisor, I told him I won't get off the phone without speaking to a supervisor. He went to check on a supervisor again and came back to tell me he can request to have a supervisor to call me back. I got a little rude with him, I told him I will not get off the phone without speaking to a supervisor and I hope my English is clear enough to you with my accent. He went again for the third time and came back to transfer me to a supervisor. When I got the supervisor, it seemed he already was well aware of my case. I told him where to find the extension of the validity of my wife's passport and he was flipping pages like he was checking my case manually. At that point I knew things will be fine and he could even hear my smile :))))) Once I point out to him on the exact page he said  "Oh I see it now, is there anything else we were requesting?" I told him no just my wife's passport validity date. He said "Ok sir, your case is closed now" That's when I couldn't stop myself from screaming and thanking him for his effort to close it. He said the only thing you will be waiting for now is the appointment notice and everything is fine  :D:jest::dance:

I saw that your case was complete on December 28, so yes, I'm surprised you did not get a February interview since they typically schedule first two weeks of the month for the next month.  Hang in there.  It is very dependent on the embassy - some countries have longer wait times than others for an interview.

It all depends on your local embassy and how busy they are. I don't think the priority date has anything to do with the interview itself. Check with the embassy and check the time line for others for your local embassy.

That's very strange because it is very common for a passport validity to be extended via a stamp on another page.  Was the stamp in the "Endorsement/Amendments" section?  Also, is the biographic page hand written with the original issue date, etc?

It was stamp for renewal under the extension page exactly but still requested a valid passport. See the pic

  8. I've had it with NVC. My wife passport or actually a travel document is hand written travel document. Her type of travel document gets extension for validity on the same travel document. The original travel document was issue in 2009 for 5 years, so in 2014 we got it renewal and it was stamped for renewal on a different page. When the NVC reviewed everything in my package everything was perfect, except the validity they couldn't figure out it's on the following page of the regular passport. They sent me a REF requesting a valid passport. I have been on the phone with NVC for two days. I explained to them the situation and where they could find the validity date. They put my case for a supervisor review which will take up to another 6 week because he or she didn't flip the darn page to read it. I contacted my senator's office and they're also following up on it. I don't understand if the NVC agent are not capable of handling all types of travel documents, passports and other international documents, why the hell are they working there??

  9. Ok this is crazy, I called again to really understand why would the ask for the Joint Sponsor Passport again when it was submitted. The request itself was weird as they should have request proof of citizen ship not even a passport. So when I mentioned that to the lady she said "The NVC is waiting for the beneficiary passport copy" I was like ####### are you talking about but didn't say it for sure. I told her I have a full copy of the entire packages I submitted and of course for sure my wife's passport copy is there. I told her the passport copy was even sent in my original submitted package back in November 7th. I explained to her that what they received in December 9th was extra documents (Joint Sponsor AOS) just in case they need it and that pushed me 6 weeks from Dec 9. Now you're telling me what NVC is looking for is my wife's passport? Of course I requested a supervisor right away and for sure no one was available so she said she'll have someone call me back.

Just wondering how the hell would they lose a copy of the passport validity date

  10. I just called NVC and they said the case is not completed because they're missing a copy of the passport. She put my case for a supervisor review and that could take up to 6 weeks. I explained to her that a copy of the passport was already received so I don't understand why they're asking for it again. She told me either put it for a supervisor review or send the passport copy again. Do they usually lose documents in NVC? Is it really going to take another 6 weeks??

  11. Ok I read the REF allover again. See below what they sent:

We reviewed your I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial documents. While we will schedule your case for an interview, either your Affidavit of Support was incomplete, some of your supporting documents were missing, or both. This could affect the Consular Officer's ability to make a decision on your case.

On the attached Affidavit of Support Assessment Letter, we have put an "X" by each item you need to correct. Go to the Department of State's website at http://nvc.state.gov/aos and follow the instructions for the Affidavit of Support form(s).

If your Affidavit of Support form(s) needs correction:

    • Fill out a new form(s) online.
    • Print, sign and send the original form(s) to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview. Do not send the updated form(s) to the NVC.

If we are missing required supporting documents:

    • Send the missing documents to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the visa interview. Do not send the documents to the NVC.

Based on the above, I assume the case is closed and technically they don't need me to send anything to NVC again. However, when I checked my case online I didn't see 3 N/A.....Please someone tell me that the 3 N/A doesn't apply to IR1

  12. Well, I received this morning a check list requesting documents were already submitted. The REF didn't request all document to say it's a generic REF. NVC requested the following:

1- Join Sponsor valid Passport copy which was already submitted and Scan date was December 9th

2- Join Sponsor W2 for 2015 copy which also was submitted and scan date was December 9th

I'm not sure now what to send them since both requested documents were already submitted. I will call NVC the second they open and I will find out more about it. Hopefully they realize their mistake without delaying the case any longer.
