Hello, I'm a British Citizen of Northern Ireland, I would like to live and work in the US, however I'm not quite sure of what type of Visa/documentation is needed in order to proceed, any advice at all?
I will be 21 as of the 18th of December coming, and Money for Applications/Fees is not an issue, I just have no idea of the process as I do not believe the US Consulate in Belfast processes Work Visas for the US, I have friend of mine who lives in Mississippi as a Federal Government employee for the DHS, who would be willing to help me with the process however, neither of us are sure of the process that we need to go through, Please help,
Thanks.
Green Card Lottery is probably your best bet. Assuming that at 21 you do not have a doctorate or 500k to invest the only other option would be to find an American company willing to sponsor you, but they then have to prove that no one in the USA could do the job they are hiring you to do.

Just dropping in to say no new news yet! How is everyone else doing?
-
Oh, you're lucky! I did my biometrics on the 21st, but no change at all.
Interesting, based on your timeline that is awesome news! Nothing more for me yet, I check a few times a day to be honest.
I am concerned that it seems a little too quick but as always I will keep everyone up to date.

I still see no change on the status of my EAD or AP application, my I 485 status updated yesterday to "Ready to schedule interview"? Has anyone else noticed a change?
-
Glad to see most of us are done or almost done with biometrics, what's the next step?
I log in to my USCIS "check status" online account everyday to see if anything is updated. Nothing so far, I assume the next step (hopefully) will be a notification that the EAD/AP are approved? If all goes well, we should receive them by January? (according to the 90 day timeline from USCIS?)
The next step is waiting, and lots of it! Depending on when we filed in October some of us should have EADs coming in the post really quite soon, others will be January. I am not sure quite how the holiday season is going to impact this but if all goes to plan we should all have our EAD/AP by the end of January (best late Xmas present ever!)

Absolutely! No interest in the USC at this stage.

hi everyone!!!!
My name is Andreia, I have done all this process 3 years ago , and a lot things has change. I have a friend who is playing now and he went to the doc appointment and the doc dint asked for PPD test or any other vaccines . They just called saying his doctor visit was go and appear work is ready to get. Did any of you had any concerns about it ?
thanks in advance.
Hi,
Unless your friend has some special circumstances that sounds very suspicious to me. Do you have the option of seeing a second doctor?
Biometrics scheduled for 12/6!
Excellent news!

On 11/19 we received a notice that form I-693 had not been submitted. Do not mail any forms at this time. However Hubby will need it at a later time. If he has an interview then he must bring it. If he doesn't require an interview the he'll receive an RFE ?.
Does any one know of a reasonable Dr in the Saint Paul MN area?
We also received a notice to do his biometrics would that be NOA2? I don't see a space for that on the time line.
LL & Me
I received that same letter
I am in Boston though.
When I was calling around for my medical everyone was charging roughly the same. It is fairly simple, just make sure you sure you have a copy of your immunization history to help cut down on the number of injections you need (too many and they cannot do them all at the appointment, adding time and cost) and be ready to pay between 175 and 200 USD.
Also, to anyone reading this looking for advice, I strongly recommend submitting the medical with your full packet. RFE's add delays!

Biometrics appointment received on Friday for 11/30. I am going to wait until the day as opposed to attempting a walk-in.

finally got e-notifications!
Excellent! My paper notifications took 6 days, but I had a weekend and Veterans Day in the middle so hopefully yours will be a little quicker.
-
Just checked the post and I had 4 envelopes from USCIS. Paper NOA's in the bag!

I am getting impatient. Lol. It's been 2 weeks!!!!
same haven't heard back at all
I am really getting so impatient. ?
Hey guys, just look at my timeline in my signature section. It took an entire 16 days just for the first texts and emails. Hang in there. You should hear something back from them very soon! It seems to be taking more than 2 weeks now for the first notification from the time of delivery.
Mine took a while as well. Seems to be busy season in Chicago but do not panic just yet!

11/12/2016: Biometrics Appointment Letter! Scheduled for 11/25/2016 at 11am !!!
WOW, I was so worried and I was thinking to myself that I should start panicking if I don't get that letter in by today. Thank goodness we got it!
Are you going to wait for the appointment or try a walk-in?

Hi Everyone, new to VJ!
Sent AOS from B1 visa on October 28th by USPS and was delivered on October 31st.
Just waiting now
Another Brit! Hi there!

Do you think the election result will have any impact on October AOS filers who would be likely interviewing after the changing of the guard?
NO
Election has nothing to do with AOS.
All of the above. Besides, none of this happens overnight. Law making is a long and arduous process so even in the EXTREMELY unlikely event the next leadership wanted to interfere with AOS (which they do not) it would be nigh on impossible for it to have any impact on our applications..

My E-Notifications landed last night. Says my case has been routed to the National Benefits Center, is that standard?
Also, for those wondering time from delivery to notification for me was 15 days. So don't panic if you are still waiting and it has been less than 2 weeks.
-
Today is the 15th day since they received my aos, no text/email yet. Im getting worried.
Don't panic. USCIS E-Notifications are notoriously bad. I think the recommendation is to wait 30 days, then open a case.
-
I got my NOA on the 27th of October, 14 days after I submitted. I believe the next thing is the biometric request. I am hoping it will be soon.
Just wanna keep you guys updated.
Thanks! 2 weeks definitely seems to be the norm at the moment.
-
I am still waiting for NOA. They received my documents on the 13th.
Still waiting.
I guess 2 weeks is about the average from what I am reading...

Just a quick update, package arrived and was signed for today. Any ideas as to when they will text/email the info from the G-1145?
