  1. Congrats to those who got their case complete!

Today marks the end of the 7th week since the NVC received my documents... September 30th. I called and was told the scheduling for December has ended, and that scheduling for a month is done at the beginning of the previous month, so december was done in the beginning of November.

That means I have roughly 3 days to get my case completed and scheduled for an interview so that my wife can get here in january... hopefully. If not, it'll be February.

I've started this process in January 2016.

Meanwhile 750,000+ DACA (deferred action for childhood arrival) applicants - aka "children" under 31 years old - got processed before all of us.

If the IRS had sent me a letter in January 2016 and I didn't get back to them until February 2017, I'd probably have people with guns knocking on my door. This is unbelievable...

because of the accuracy of your last statement in regards to the IRS, you get VJ comment of the day in my book.

  2. I think it's 6 weeks irrespective of the number of pages. I had an employment visa, and they literally only had 4 pages to review as opposed to CR1 category and it still took them 8 weeks.

After reading lots of people's experience and now going through this phase of the visa journey, i came to the conclusion that packages stay in the mail-room for 6 weeks, collecting dust and 1 day to actually "review" the files. When 6 weeks are up and they don't get to it, you get a letter stating, " of yeah, we need this, we need that"
