    i had case complete on

    july, 13th 2017 .

    country to be interviewed:GHANA.

i still haven't got my interview.

i called nvc today and they said no interview date. am really worried. can someone help me out?

Your instinct is set to worry, and we all for sure share that instinct when it comes to reuniting with our loved one. I would not stress it too much since getting interview date may take up to 3 months after your CC. We personally experienced a delay of almost 2 month.

I hope you hear from them for September, otherwise I am sure you will have a shot of it for October. It is still early to give up for a September date though. Stay Strong.

I called about an hour ago. It took about 30 minutes to get through the lines. The operator pointed out that notifications were just starting to come in and should continue throughout this week. I hope this information helps and it is always good to post fresh information so that the VJ community is aware.

Congrats. You are a step closer to the end. Thank you for the update.

Our case was closed over a week ago and we still don't have an interview date assigned. I was told it's generally 7 to 10 days from the case being closed to the interview being assigned. Does anyone habe an idea of that. I went off the checklist and only saw one case from Morocco and they found out extremely quickly. I know there are 2 of us from Morocco awaiting out interviews. Does anyone have any assistance on this. I also feel no one has been assigned yet because there hasn't been many changes on the checklist. Help I need some information because I'm about lose my patience again (like during uscis steps).

Honestly having timelines from previous cases in this site is helpful to get an idea of the process. However, there is no exact speculation on the timeframe of getting an interview date. Our case was completed on 13th of June and we still don't have a date. It all depends on the embassy releasing the available dates for the following month and how many people are waiting before you. Both of those factors are hard to predict comparing your cases to previous ones.

    Good Luck

Hi, they kept the passport and they gave me a paper signed from the embassy, but why the website they refused? at this point i am waiting to have my visa in hand....

No clue on why the website would say "Refused". I have seen it with some people here. If you attempt to call NVC, just for a peace of mind, they will claim there is nothing wrong and they won't be able to explain the "Refused" neither. I would say it is a system glitch. Allow couple days to pass and if it does not update, you can either call NVC or e-mail the embassy.

    Hi Trininurse,

it was terrible. You can `t bring any cellphone, ipad and anything else, so, that was the first problem. There no safety box in the embassy, so leave in the hotel or at home.

Also, remember to bring the w-2 of the sponsor, does not matter if you have the tax transcript, but it is important to bring the w-2, and the transcript. First you will go to talk with a lady from Trinidad who is going to check all the documentation, she is not the most pleasant person of the world, after that, 20 minutes , you will have go to the interview, with an american women, who was very nice.

We got approved, I have the paper signed,, but today i check the website and the say Refused....i am freaking out!!!!

If they kept your passport and CO approved you with the signed slip...you will be ok. Your status will change once they proceed with getting your visa packet ready. Congrats!

I just called wait time 15 min. Still no date and they don't know when they will start.

I Called this morning too. I had asked if they started September, the rep said "I believe so". Those reps just tend to provide conflicting answers. I don't blame them, I think they can only tell you what shows on their screens. Everything else is speculations. We just need to patiently wait. Good luck.

Still no interview date as of yet. If the timeline updates submitted by others at our embassy are to be considered accurate then we should've had a date by now. Or it could simply mean that he embassy has slowed down. We got the cc letter last week. Just gonna wait it out some more or try calling again today

I feel you. Our case was completed more than 30 days ago. I was hoping to get an interview on August. I called this morning and the rep said they are just about done scheduling August today. Still now interview for us. Of course keep in mind that every embassy is different.

I has a checklist a month ago to provide I birth Certificate. The letter says it may take up to a month to review the document. but it has been more than a month since they received the documents and I'm not getting any update. I called and they say it may take up to 11 weeks. does it take that long for a second scan?

Sorry to hear about your checklist...Unfortunately, you are going to have to be patient as it will take more than a month. If NVC is fast reviewing your documents, you might be able to cut it shorter than 11 weeks. I would start calling right at the 8th week to check.

    Good luck.

I called last night and the rep said they schedule at the beginning of the month. If I haven't been scheduled yet, I'll be scheduled for a Sept. interview at the end of this month... What are we supposed to believe??? jeez.

I think of it as "ok...if you have an interview date for me, great news....if you don't I am not gonna listen to anything else you have to say to me" LOL....I have heard so much of "Not yet...your case was completed on April 13th.....blablablabla"

No offence meant to those reps...bless their hearts they are part of the customer service crew...they have to come up with something to reassure you. To conclude, I would say, be patient.

  10. Update. I sent an email to the embassy as an inquiry for an interview, as others had done, the following is their response:

    "Dear Sir,

Your case is still with NVC. Once the case is ready NVC will send you a notification indicating the appointment date for the visa interview. We don’t schedule immigrant visa cases unless the beneficiary fail to show up to their original appointment that was done by NVC."

Thank you @sulusum . sure I can share it.

In subject write your case number______ - Regarding Interview date.

    Body:

    NVC case number:

    Principal applicant's name:

    Principal applicant’s DOB:

    Petitioner's name:

    Petitioner’s DOB:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am the beneficiary for this case ___________. About a week ago we got the confirmation from NVC on the phone that our case is complete and is waiting for an Interview date from Montreal embassy.

So I am requesting you to please update me with my Interview date as soon as it is available.

    Thank you.

I hope this helps to everyone who is waiting for so long. @Enigma992 and some of them from Abu Dhabi are waiting for more than one month. So please try contacting via email directly to your consulate.

Well, it seems that our Embassy are too busy to answer e-mails from applicants who have not yet been scheduled for an interview...I got an automated e-mail back stating that I will not get an answer if we have yet been scheduled.

Does anyone know the current CC to Interview date notification waiting time for Warsaw, Poland? We got our CC for IR1 on June 20 and still no interview date, this is very frustrating :( We're waiting 3 weeks already.

I am in the same boat, just different embassy. That said, every embassy is quiet different at releasing available spots. It depends on how many files are ahead of you, staffing, holidays...you name it. One thing we have all learned through this lengthy process is the art of patience.

    My CC was April 13th.

I believe you mean the account my wife can open in the US that I can then remit the money to from my Pakistani account? so there should be no issues for my wife to receive the large amount from me?

As far as taxes go, as long as you don't make money, or income off that balance, in this case would be interest. You will not be required to pay taxes once it is remitted to an account.

I am inclined towards this too but I feel its awfully close to the 'hundi' system. Is this legal? Or some kinda gray area?

I have the bank statements and I'm pretty comfortable going through the POE customs with that but there is a lot of corruption and bribery from our local airports and leaving those even with the bank statements can become a nightmare. Basically, if a local customs officer is in the mood for some bribes, or any money, regardless of what paper work u have, they can delay things or make the day unfun in general. I don't want to go through that :/

I could do this. I'm curious if it'll have any tax implications in the US? Of course I earned this before immigrating so it won't be an issue for me but I'm curious if it'll be an issue for my wife there. She doesn't work and i'm not sure how the banks there will treat a noticable  sum in her account suddenly.

any ideas whats the best way to go given the above circumstances, guys?

As long as you don't earn interest on it...Then no tax is implicated. You could open a non-interest bearing account and deposit your funds.
