It was definitely greater than 5 months on the site.  I remember this because it had an actual date they were working on as opposed to "5 months" if it were on track. I can't recall the actual dates though.

Considering you filed in December (1 month has passed), you have about 5 more months to go.
You can choose to get married right away and switch to CR1. Since China has 2 field offices, your CR1 will be a lot faster than the average.
Going the CR1 route, the foreign spouse will be able to work/get their SSN after entry into the US, as with the K1 they cannot for a few months. The fees for CR1 are less expensive. But you need a good deal of money in your bank account or need to get someone in the US to sponsor you guys. Since you will be quitting your job in China upon visa approval.
The length of the marriage does not matter, and once you get married your K1 is terminated. The I130 does ask if you have filed an I130 before, but it shouldnt be a problem that you changed your mind about the K1. Especially since you are filing for the same person.

If you have been married to a USC less than 2 years and living outside of the United States, CR1 is the visa you need to be applying for. If you have an attorney, usually that does speed up your process.. since mistakes and RFEs are more avoidable with an attorney.
USCIS (I130 wise) Potmac Center is currently at a 7 month wait (they are currently processing from June) for CR1/IR1. So that would be a predicted NOA/approval in June for you if you filed November.
Now thats not carved in stone, their processing times might change, and everyones case if different.
Our NOA1 is one day apart. But we got Nebraska (6 month wait currently).
My husband is the Beneficiary.. but we are both living abroad in Serbia.
Good luck to all of us!

I would disagree that European filers are approved faster... Although I have noticed that Philippians do (for whatever reason) get approved fairly fast. I have talked to a few, and also if you check "timeline approvals" on this site and filter Philippens.. you will see what im talking about.

And yeah I agree, whenever someone who filed at the same time as me gets approved, Im happy for them (as I wish we all could be approved in a month or two!), and at the same I get a bit jealousy/emotional.
