Finally I have received my passport this morning...yaaayyyy...
now waiting for the certificate. How do they send the certificate? through overnight delivery or the regular mail?..I hope I get it soon. Thanks KiKidough, I am learning the formatting. I hope I get it right this time

Hello Everyone,
As I discussed in my previous post, I mailed my passport the very same day after taking oath and updated the status with SSA as well [september 30, 2009]. Thanks jayde and KikiDough for the informarion. I opted for the expedited application process. I just check the status and it says that my passport has been mailed and will reach me soon. I hope that I will get it by tomorrow. I think for this expedite option has worked very well and I hope to get over with all this soon

Hi everyone,
I will be attending my oath ceremony on September 30th so I have already started thinking about getting my passport book and updating the SS status. Therefore, I will be joining this thread soon. As for now I plan to apply for my passport on the same day i.e. Sept 30. I was wondering if it is possible to update the SS status on the same day. for SS, do they accept the copy or the the original certificate of naturalization.
Kikidough, I see from your timeline that you got both of the tasks ( passport & SS) done on the same day.
How did you manage it? Did you go to SS office first?.....Also just want to make sure that we are supposed to send in our original certificate of naturalization along with the passport application..right? After reading some posts around here, I am a bit apprehensive about it but anyways what can we do if it really is necessary..Good Luck to you all

Thanks wanabe_texan and Kikidoug....Good to see that everyone has progressed well with their applications.
My interview experience was great and I am approved for naturalization. I was there 25 mins ahead of the scheduled time but surprisingly I was called in 5 minutes earlier than that. It was quite the same experience that I have been reading about on this forum. The IO went over the N400 application after the oath. oh and she took my ID , passport and green card as well. After that she asked 6 test questions, I got all right and passed the test. She was in good mood and did not want to spend too much time on the verification of the supporting documents. She asked me if I have other documents with me that I want to share,I said I have the originals if she wants to take a look on them but she seemed fine with that. It was pretty quick n took about 15 minutes. Oath ceremony is on September 30th. Well thats about it. I am happy , I am glad n I am over the moon
It has been a nice and quick journey.

First of all many congratulations to all of you..wow i see a lot more progress in this thread :
I went for my FP on 7/22 instead of 7/13 so if somebody can please update that. other than I am going on vacation and hope that I will be scheduled after 8/31...

I called USCIS and the rep said that its OK if i forgot to put asterisk because all the N400 application have asterisk and we understand that. So keeping my fingers crossed..after that I called FBI and they said my FP n background check is complete and sent back to USCIS.....so thats a relief...

Thanks NickD for the helpful information. yes he did stamp my appointment letter. you are right whats the need to fill that form when they have got all the information already. About the case numbers, yes the asterisk was mentioned on my appointment letter and even on NOA. but somehow I kept considering that just a useless symbol that they used to as a space may be (NBC*123456789) ....
anyways whats done is done now.I agree it was 9 in the morning and they guy was fairly bizarre mood already and the guy who did the FP , he was literally yawning on my face
NickD, how did you figure out the asterisk if that was not even mentioned on your appointment letter. Thats strange. how far are you now with your wife's process. Has she got her IL yet? Good luck to you guys I know its a very painstaking process but I hope it all will be worth it at the end
I hope the guy scanned my appointment letter, because it has barcodes ....I am thinking about calling FBI/USCIS on Monday to ask if they got my FP information because I have seen some people doing that but I don't know if that would be helpful.

Hello,
I went for my FP appointment last Wednesday. My case is at NBC and the case number included the symbol "*" . for example NBC*123456789. Now when they give me a form to fill, I forgot to write the symbol "*" after NBC. Like I wrote NBC123456789 instead of writing NBC*123456789. but now m freaking out if I have done something terribly wrong. Does it matter if I forgot to mention the EXACT application number?
Do they scan the application when they take you to their computer for FP? I don't remember if the guy scanned my application before taking my finger prints. I also don't remember what information he entered from that form. Should I be worrying about anything? Can I call USCIS/FBI or NBC if they have received any information about my FP done for N400. whom should I call?
Also I could not go on the actual date the FP was scheduled. But according to my appointment letter I could go on any following Wednesday.

okay so it looks like I have actually lost last two years W2 forms. I didn't send any W2 forms with my N-400 application. If I am not able to show any W2 form at the interview, will there be any problem for me
..will the IRS transcripts be enough to show that I have worked and paid taxes Plzzzzzz help me I so upset..........I am not sure If I request my employer for the W2 he will be kind enough to send me W2 again because he was a one arrogant person!

Thanks Imzadi..yea i agree our timelines have pretty similar pattern. Unfortunately, no one can check may mail on my behalf. I will have to ask USPS to hold may mail for a month.
I am assuming that USCIS online status update tells you if an interview is scheduled. Is that correct????
My 3 year mark completes on Sep 5th so I hope I wont be getting the interview before that.

Hello everyone,
Well it looks like i will be traveling to Dubai for 30days in the next month. I have only been out of USA for 30 days in the last 3 years. Will it be okay to travel after filing N-400. I guess I wont be getting the interview letter too soon as i will be getting back by the end of Aug...any thoughts??? I am gonna pause the delivery of the mail at USPS so that i dont lose the interview letter.
any suggestions? whether i not its a good decision to travel in the middle of the process?
On the second note..do they actually tell you on your online status update that an interview letter has been sent to you or something like that?
BTW I am from Detroit, MI...so anyone from detroit can tell me how the time lines are running to get the IL?

I got my biometrics appointment today and I have a class on that day so my question is that on my letter it says if I don't appear on this date then i can go on any following Wednesday till 10/11/09 at the same time. Can anyone tell me if I chose to go on any Wednesday as they say. will there be any problem? or should I prefer the day I am scheduled on? has anyone else ever skipped the date and went on some other day? any experiences or potential risks involved?

Hello all,
I sent my N-400 package to AZ and I got NOA1 from NBC Missouri. It doesnt say that your case is transfered to NBC and I just noticed the differnt sender address. otherwise I would not have known that my case is transfered there.
Also, I have a question regarding NOA 1. My letter says " Upon reciept of all required record checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at you local USCIS field office". My concern is that it does not say anything like " you will be sent a letter for biomartrics appointment". should I expect an appointment letter even if it doesnt say anythign about it ....
Is it normal?
Why do they transfer cases to NBC? I hope It wont slow my process..

Is it normal? I had my biomatrics appointmet on 7/25/08 for removal of conditions. I dont remmber but I read somewhere that if your biomatrics is within a year of last bio appointment, there are chances of skipping this step? is this correct.
Also, I sent my package to AZ but I got NOA from Missori ....whats with that???? did you guys also get your NOA from there?
I would really appreciate the answers to my questions.

I recieved my NOA1 today

Congrats KiKIdoug, I have received my certificate as well. Thank God otherwise i had already started to worry about it. now its the waiting time for the SS card.
