  1. Has anymore successfully had their petition expedited? If yes, please advise me on what should be included in the statement to USCIS. Our situation is this: My fiance is currently a refugee in Italy. He was granted temporary residence in Italy however, it may expire on June 18,2018. We received our NOA1 on Nov 13,2017 & expect (God willing) our NOA2 between May 13-16,2018. USCIS received our request to expedite the petition due to emergency reasons. They've requested a statement explaining our situation in detail & requesting any documentation. From experience, will the statement be sufficient or will we also need documentation? I'm asking because my fiance didn't receive any documents from the Italian court. He was just given a court date of June 18, 2018 for their immigration court to make a decision on whether or not he'll be granted a 10 residency or if he'll have to return to his home country.  We are planning to request an extension from the Italian court, if we're denied the request to expedite with USCIS, then await normal processing of our petition.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted you all to have as much info as possible.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  2. Because of his refugee status, USCIS said we could qualify to request the app be expedited for Humanitarian reasons.  It's a shot in the dark but, we're going for it.  If he has to go to Ghana, that's no biggie but, since we've already stated in Italy & he'd like to stay there until we're approved(hopefully), we'd like to get the case expedited or at least get him an extension on his Italian temporary residency.

  3. Hi all, my fiance is currently a refugee in Italy (that came by way of Libya).  He has temporary citizenship there via, a sorgianno.  However,  he was just told that since he's a citizen of Ghana and there are no issues in Ghana, his sorgianno will expire on June 16, 2018.  We are currently in the middle of the process, we received our NOA1 on 11/13/18.  Would this situation be a vaild reason to request our application be expedited?  Thanks

  4. I just noticed that my tax docs has the incorrect middle initial listed. Actually, all my returns from the past 3 years have my maiden name & the wrong middle initial, which is different from my ID & W2's. Since I was separated for 3 yrs before getting divorced, I filled head of household and my tax preparer used my maiden last name. Would this cause an issue, when we submit the affidavit for support?

  5. Ok, I'm finally ready to submit my I-129F but, I truly want to avoid needing a sponsor.  I currently have one child that lives with me and my other child now, primarily lives with my ex-husband.  I claimed both kids on my taxes but, I have a notarized letter stating that one child lives with my ex-husband and that he is their primary financial provider.  My primary job, which shows on my taxes, I make $16,000.  I started a second job about 9 months ago, where I make around $15,000/yr.  I have a statement from this employer on their letterhead to support my earnings (this is a 1099 job, I'll claim them on my 2017 taxes but, didn't claim them on 2016 because I made less than $600 last yr).

With the information I've provided, can anyone advise if you think I'll need a sponsor or if I've provided enough information to avoid having one?

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

    Carissa
