Goodluck to all of us!! Is your petition in NVC or embassy now? Did you make the payment online for GC?

Hello! Please enlighten us and share your journey as well. My mom had petitioned for my dad, it has been 15 months and the status has been the same “case was received and receipt notice was emailed”. Petitioner is a GC holder and PD is 10/8/2019

Hi question! Asking for a friend.
Her and her husband just had their child together. Both of them have not applied for US citizenship because of covid it got delayed. They are still GC holder and both from the Philippines. Their newborn son is of course a US citizen because of the fact that he is born here in the US. Are their son entitled or automatically dual citizen because the parents are not naturalized yet? Please enlighten me if I am wrong. Thank you!

Well, my mother-in-law finally made it back to Manila yesterday. She had the option of staying in a free location with the OFW’s but that option wasn’t very appealing considering she would have been in a tent in a crowded arena. She chose to pay her own way being quarenteened in a hotel room with two other women who are also waiting for the covid test results. She will be getting a free ride home but the other two live further from Manila and have to find their own transportation.
On the flight from Atlanta to Seoul she had her own row to sit or lay down in because there were very few on the flight.
Any update on your MIL? So did she share the payment for the room as well? My mom’s flight is twice again cancelled by PAL 🤦🏻♀️

Good to know! Please give us an update! Thank you

My mom has been wanting to fly back home and because of covid19 we had to cancelled her flight in March. I see that there are flights available later this month, are they putting people in quarantine somewhere after flying from the US?

Great! Thanks for looking it up for me.. 😊

Will she need NBI or police clearance from japan?

My son and I are having our birthdays in January and would love to invite my sister to come over from the Philippines. I know it is so hard to apply for a US visa especially with the young age because they think people will just probably stay in the US and not leave. My sister is in her mid 20's and I have been wanting to have her visit us. She have saved a pretty decent amount and have savings in the bank and she have a property she have been paying for back home. She also have been back and forth to Japan for work for 5 years. She have done so much for the family financially that we think she deserves to come here for a treat and see us. Anybody had a recent experience with their family applying for tourist visa? I know there is an instruction and I read it but are there anything else my sister can bring to help w her interview?
-
Im sure, this has been discussed so many times, my mom is flying back home for couple weeks and was wondering if she would to bring a television with her how much will she pay for tax? Any recent vj member who just flew back?

I’m just curious., so if you drive in the Philippines and have a driver’s license in PI, then you moved in the states, do you still need to take the driver’s permit test and driving test?

I kinda have the same question but different scenario. So we filed my dad’s petition. Mom is the petitioner, she moved here through IR5 last year in November. She has been working since January. Praying that everything goes smoothly with the petition and my parents will get reunited again for good. Since my sister is my mom’s derivative, it will basically be a household of 3. My mom is barely making for a household of 3. However, she lives with us and my dad and sister will be living with us as well. They really won’t be paying anything as far as rent except maybe helping us with the expenses such as bills or groceries. I assume just go ahead and co sponsor with my husband or me?
-
I know and I understand! I just always question myself. We had a denied petition before and of course we don’t wAnt to run in to the same problem again. Nobody does!
-
Yes we’re going to. Do we need passport pictures of my mom?
-
Hi, so we are hoping to send my dad’s petition next week to USCIS. Just one more question that popped up. My mom is LPR, she is petitioning for my dad and derivative is my sister who is currently 17 y/o. Question is, should we, or do we need to include any paperwork of my sister such as passport or any specific? Hope to hear from you soon!

Being your mom is an LPR then your sister can be processed as a derivative with your dad.
Thank you Hank as always.

For the form I-130 no she does not put her name down as preparer (that is only if someone besides your mom were to complete the I-130) Yes your mom must include the I-130a, your mom can complete this for your dad, it is okay if he doesn't sign it (being he is out of the country).
Now for your sister. IF your mom (petitioner) is an LPR your sister is considered a derivative of your dad (beneficiary). IF your mom is a USC she will need to complete an separate I-130 for your sister.
Of course with either scenario your sister would be listed in PART 4.
Yes she is LPR,
Thank you, just worried that they will reject it because it is unsigned and there is not a part where we can put my mom’s name down so they know she filled out the I130a not my dad.
Yes my sister is on part 4 as well as my other siblings but only the youngest sister is under 21 y/o

Question guys!
So my mom is petitioning for my dad with I-130 and we need to include I-130a, Since my dad is outside the US and my mom's is filling the form out in behalf of my dad, does she need to put her name down as a preparer for the I-130? I am not sure if they will question it if we submit it without the signature.
Also, my youngest sister will be the derivative of my mom, she is under 21 y/o, I don't see any part in I-130 about the derivative. Will she be automatically included in the petition as derivative since she is under 21 y/o? Just wanted to make sure she don't get left out. 😁
Any reply is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance

Hello everyone! As we all know USCIS has been backed logged and seems and feel like taking forever for most of petitions to move or get approved. My mom has filed for my dad to come here. PD is 10/2019. I realized that California Service Center is one of the slowest and that is where my mom’s petition went to. My mom is a GC holder. Anyway, the question is.. That petition for my dad, my sister is also a derivative. She is now 19 y/o and it is making us nervous about how she is getting close to turning to 21 y/o and afraid and have the question of “what if” she don’t get to come here before she turns 21. Also, I have told her to not go to school yet for college back home because she probably will move here before she finishes. Told her that last year but they still not here yet and telling her the same thing hoping they get to come in the next year. Please advice!
