  1. Congrats. You are almost there.

Wow sure would love to visit Indonesia some day.

    Jim

Highly recommend a visit. Beautiful country and beautiful people. Check out Yogyakarta for Borobudur, Kalibiru, Kalisuci, Jomblang Cave, Prambanan, Mount Merapi, and shopping at Malioboro (ride in the pedal cars, and do the tree walking blindfolded, but don't forget to try the kopi joss). If you go to Bali head up to Ubud for so much fun, and then take a boat over to Nusa Penida which has some amazing views and great snorkeling.

  2. I received this email from the US embassy in Jakarta just a few minutes ago. Wow. Soooo close to packet 3/interview.

This is an official notification from U.S. Embassy Jakarta regarding the approved I-129F petition.

    In order for us to update beneficiary’s data, please inform the following information as soon as possible;

    1. Beneficiary’s update mailing address in Indonesia

    2. Beneficiary’s email address

    3. Beneficiary’s contact number

  3. Called NVC early this morning too but haven't heard back yet.

Is your NOA1 / NOA2 dates the day you got your physical copy in mail or online?

If any case I think mine should be next week as your NOA2 was approved a bit faster than ours :D

I entered the dates from the physical copies -- not electronic notification. Figured I'd keep it official with those dates, though of course there was delay in mail. If we all go by when we receive physical copies, I think we'd be skewing the numbers -- things are moving quickly it seems.

  4. its the 0700 number ,press 1 for english , 3 for paperwork update , or u can do 7 for operator , 3/4 weeks avg

Maybe I am wrong, but the 0700 number would never lead me to a prompt, and I'd always get hung up on ("We're too busy. Call back later."). I have a fiancee visa. I called the 0888 number, which answered and prompted me with a menu that lead me to someone who checked for my fiancee visa USCIS case # -- wait for answer less than 10 minutes.

Phone (for immigrant visa inquiries only):

    (603) 334-0700. Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

Phone (for nonimmigrant visa inquiries only):

    (603) 334-0888. Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

  5. 603 334-0700So I tried calling the NVC at 603 334-0700

All I get is a greeting message saying they are full right now, and then the call hangs up? Is there a waiting queue or something or do we just have to keep calling till we get lucky

That's the immigrant visa # -- try this one. (603) 334-0888. I got someone on the line quickly last week (10 minute wait, at most, if i remember correctly).

  6. Wow -

Just out of curiosity how many pages(approximately) was your petition? Was it complicated and did you front load it?

This should answer it all, and more.

    43 pages, not front loaded

    I-129F sheets --

    1 pg - cover letter

    1 pg - G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

    6 pg - I-129F itself

    1 pg - I-129F Supplement: Part 1, Question 11, Sponsor's Prior Spouse(s)

    7 pg - 2 Divorce Decree(s) for Sponsor

    1 pg - I-129F Supplement: Part 2, Question 34a, explanation of meeting

1 pg - G-325A and passport style photo (Sponsor)

1 pg - G-325A and passport style photo (Alien)

2 pg - Sponsor's Proof of U.S. Citizenship (birth certificate / front and back)

1 pg - Letter from Sponsor certifying intent to marry Alien

1 pg - Letter from Alien certifying intent to marry Sponsor

    Proof of visit --

2 pg - passport, 1st page with info, scan of page with stamps

5 pg - boarding passes (1 each page)

    3 pg - airbnb receipts

9 pg - miscellaneous receipts (engagement rings, ATM withdrawals, dinners)

3 pg - pictures (two 4x6 pictures with annotation on each page)

2 ziplock bags containing passport photos -- and marked with full name.

The whole packet was assembled in this order -- the passport photo bags were inserted after each respective G-325A.

All sheets were 2-hole punched at top of pages, and were placed in a legal size folder with folding fasteners.

Didn't front load because of the time needed to arrange collection and translation of the documents that will only become necessary during the interview. My thinking was that I wanted to get the I-129F sent out as quickly as possible, and possibly receive sooner interview.

    What service center?

    California

  7. Hello friends. I didn't see a sticky post that gives me any guidelines for posting here. I have created my VJ timeline. I am living in Tampa, FL, and my fiancee is living in Jakarta. We are very excited to be together. I just sent in my petition last week and it is waiting in the post office to be picked up (according to tracking info) this morning (Monday, October 3). I know everyone's story is different and that the servicing centers are somewhat random and have different processing times. We just don't know what to expect from now. I've hired a company for assistance with filing the petition and they will walk us through the rest of the process -- but they are very vague on real timelines and I think this forum is where I can get some of that information that they are unwilling to share (because they can't make promises, I am not asking them to anyway -- just estimations based on recent experiences).

As things move on in our case, I will update our VJ timeline so we are helping others get "real" and "recent" data.

If anyone has any tips for us, I'd appreciate to hear from you. We're very excited, nervous, and praying for quick responses.

    Thanks!

    Patrick
