Did you wife file for her I-765 as (c)(9)? If not, then what happened made sense. If you do not file as (c)(9) when filing concurrently, then you are not asking for the fee waver, and therefore still owe the fee.
 
Wait for the I-485 NOA1 (I-797C) and refile the I-765 under (c)(9) classification with a photocopy of the I-485 NOA1.

Just received the paper NOAs for my I-765 and I-485. However, my Alien Registration Number has changed!!! Is this normal???

I received my notification emails and texts on Thursday night / Friday morning. My packet arrived in Chicago on the morning of March 28th so you should get it soon!!! Good luck!!!

K1 September filer. Mailed my package with FedEx. Arrived March 28 so on the border between March and April therefore will be participating in both discussion boards.

Just received email / text notification that my case has been received / fingerprint fee has been received!!!
 
The notification said that my case has been sent to the national visa center. Is this normal?

Just got the email saying that my passport (containing my visa) has been handed to the courier and will be available to pick up from tomorrow!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!
