  1. Hullo! I have some concerns about the affidavit of support (I134) and was hoping you guys could give me some help. My fiancé (US citizen) is currently a college student and does not earn enough money to match 125% of the poverty line. However, he does receive a considerable amount of money in financial aid (scholarships and grants) for college. He checked with the USCIS and he was told that financial aid counts as income, and if this is the case then it would be more then 125% of the poverty line. However, a lot of information coming from the USCIS as of late had been contradictory or flat-out wrong, and I do not trust what they say. Does anyone know where I could confirm that fin. aid is useable as income, or know anything about this?

The main reason I'm so concerned about this is that if it doesn't count as income then we could be in big trouble - he doesn't have anyone that could act as a co-sponsor. He isn't too concerned because the USCIS said he'd be fine, but it's REALLY STRESSING ME OUT!!

    Thanks for all your help,

    Eli

  2. Hey! I'm new to the forum but I needed to share ... CSC finally notified me that they recieved our IMBRA RFE! I was starting to get really disheartened about this whole process, and my partner didn't even receive the RFE until July 15th (was dated as being sent out June 23rd!!!) and that was the last time they'd handled anything to do with our case. I got the standard "However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message" update, but I don't understand because there is no maximum stated in the message ... Anyways I was just so overjoyed to finally hear something I had to tell someone ... and fiance is at work, lol.

  3. I'll let you know how it goes ...

I am flying out of Vancouver (YVR) on Tuesday July 25, 2006 and will be activating my K-1 Visa there ...

    Only 3 more days .... wooooohoooo !!

Congratulations, Waiting!! I'm eager to hear how it goes for you. Did you make a review of your interview at the Consulate?

  4. This is mostly just a curiousity question, but I was wondering if anyone entered the US through immigration at the Vancouver Airport. What was the experience like, and particularly, were you issued an EAD? I know technically you're supposed to get the EAD when you enter the States, but in reality this varies with each POE. I'm a long way from this stage, still waiting for NOA2 (sigh), but just trying to figure out if I can increase my chances of getting that EAD without too much fuss. Thankies! :D
