  1. My oath letter showed up on ELIS today (9/12 oath ceremony).  Filling in the final dates of my timeline below.  Fingers crossed for those few of the August '16 filers still waiting.

Had my interview this morning in Dallas (PD 8/15/16).  Passed the English and civics portion, went through all the yes/no questions but at the end got a piece of paper that says "A decision cannot be made yet about your application".  The interviewer did say that she didn't see any issues, but it's frustrating to start waiting again.  My spouse saw other people go in and come out of their interviews in 15 mins saying they got approved (assuming they were naturalization interviews b/c they went in solo), but I was in for 35 mins.  For some reason, my current employment wasn't in the computer system, even though I listed it on the application, so maybe that is the issue, but not sure what that means.

    Anyone else go through this?

So today, exactly one week after my interview in Dallas, case status on the general uscis.gov website was updated to "Case Was Submitted For Quality Review Based On An Approval Recommendation".  When I signed on to my ELIS account, though, it says "Oath Ceremony Scheduled", but the letter with the date of the oath ceremony isn't available yet (based on my research, the next oath ceremony in Dallas is Sept 21).  I'm hoping that the ELIS status that I've been scheduled for an oath ceremony is the correct one, but either way it's a step in the right direction from what I received at the interview last week (No decision can be made...), so I'm thrilled.   I was so disappointed after getting that letter at the interview, so this was a welcome update.

I'm hoping all the other folks in Dallas and other slow offices see some movement soon.  It's been a tough process of over 1 year, but having the support and info from this blog has been a tremendous help.

Congrats on the interview!!!!! The waiting is never fun! But I am sure at the end it will all be worth it.

Sorry I have a question. Has your status moved to "interview scheduled, USCIS will mail you the interview notice before?" If yes, how long did you wait until you actually got the letter?

yes, the status moved to Interview Scheduled about a month before the interview date.  I was able to download the notice about a day after I got the text and received the paper notice in the mail about 4 or 5 days after that.  After the interview it still says the same status.

So you just had your biometrics 2 days ago?  I never got an estimated wait time but it would not surprise me since it has been almost 12 months for me.  However, I seem to recall someone else from Dallas who had their interview scheduled.

I noticed last night that the whole layout of the ELIS website changed.  In the new layout, it says that the last time they looked at my application was September 15, 2006.  I have no idea what is going on

I'm a Dallas IOE filer (8/15/16 priority date) and have my interview next Wed (8/23), so hopefully you other Dallas filers will get scheduled soon.

    Hey Dallas Peeps,

Any updates? My status is still 'Biometrics was scheduled.....' :(

Hey, I'm an August Dallas IOE filer (PD 8/15) and still waiting for interview to be scheduled.  I had been tracking all the July Dallas filers on here and based on their schedule (they've all had their interviews already), i should have had my interview about now, so not sure if there has been a slowdown in Dallas.  Seems like one of the slower offices in the country.  Hang tight!

  7. I'm IOE for next tracker update. Great idea to add that to the tracker so people don't have to ask every time someone gets an interview scheduled.

I don't know if you all have seen in other forums, but USCIS just extended the use of the old N400 form again until Dec 1. Not sure what that means for August IOE filers, but it can't be good. I was hoping that by the time they got around to regular processing times for us they'd have worked out all the kinks with the new IOE system.

  8. Hey August filers! Since we're all just about done with biometrics and have a couple of months of waiting ahead of us, I thought it'd be helpful to put together a list of documents/evidence to bring to our interviews. In reading some of the interview experiences of folks in the earlier month forums, it seems that although most interviewers just ask for passports/green cards, every so often there are unusual requests so it is best to be prepared and have the docs ready to hand over instead of having to submit it later and have even more delays. So, below is a first start. Please feel free to quote/reply to add in anything you've seen interviewers request and we'll end up with a pretty comprehensive list. Cheers!

Documents to Bring to Naturalization Interview:

    1. Copy of interview Notice
    2. Green Card
    3. Drivers License
    4. Passport(s) (Note: If the travel out of the US listed in the N400 was done on a prior passport, bring the old passport too b/c some officers seem to want to match up the dates in the N400 with the stamps in the passport)
    5. List/dates of any travel outside US since the N400 was submitted
    6. Marriage bona fides (tax returns/transcripts for last 3 years, a couple of joint bank statements, etc.) (Not sure if this is only req'd for 3-year rule applicants)
    7. Original marriage certificate
    8. Your birth certificate (an applicant got this request at interview earlier this year, which was surprising since we all submitted this for GC application and I had to get mine officially translated)
    9. Kids' birth certificates
    10. Evidence showing that you have paid off any traffic tickets
    11. Any recent awards/commendations to show good moral character (doesn't seem to be a big focus at interviews, but again, better to be prepared)
  9. Updated for my NOA and biometrics. Got the biometrics text message last Saturday morning but the appointment notice didn't show up online until yesterday.
