  1. I am a paranoid person and I figured an extra set of eyes on my paperwork would help. We are using Hodgson Russ LLP and they have done very well by us(so far!). I know they have offices all over so that is a possible option. In hindsight, I would have done the work myself, but I didn't find this great site until after I paid the reatainer ($2500); which will cover us all the way through AOS/EAD and even an attorney at the interview.

Our case is nothing special and has no complications, but as I said, I am paranoid that I might miss something or could possibly have overlooked some piece of information.

I did most of the work for the lawyer and his paralegal, but I like the reassuring part of having one if we need it. Kind of like insurance. You hardly ever need it, but you are damn happy when you need it and it is there. I told the lawyer that if something goes wrong that I expect him to act like a pitt bull who has been fed nothing but gunpowder and crack for weeks.

I guess to sum it up, if you can do it yourself, then go for it. Follow the guides, ask for info, double check and then have someone who has never seen the paperwork go over it again.

    Just my $00.02

  2. I agree with you completely.... I feel terrible for everyone effected by this. Others just simply do not understand the waiting game and the nonsense associated with it. In the end it is all worth it for the one we love, but in the meantime it is literally a living hell.

  3. Lawyers called to tell me that VSC confirmed my case, issued a receipt number and I have checked my case status online.

Finally, a small step completed and underway! This makes my life a little easier to deal with!! Thanks for all the help and pestering questions from me lately. Now I get to join the list waiting for NOA2.

  4. Congratulations - the journey begins.

Don't worry - you'll probably be approved in less than two months . . .

Congratulations, welcome to the waiting pool. Best of luck!

    Kitkat:

What makes you think two months? Just out of idle curiousity as I sent mine into Vermont last week.... I see from the timelines and reading that I should be happy with Vermont....

kitkat is (sarcastically) referring to many later filers getting quick approvals while many March people are still waiting. :P

I thought maybe, but I just wanted to check and see if I was missing something. I keep searching for that loophhole or one key piece that will speed this all up.....

  6. My fiance submitted our I-129F application on July 17, 2006 to the Vermont Service Center and we have not yet received a NOA1. I notice on some timelines NOA1s are received within about 2 weeks.

Can anyone give me any advice on whether we should have received it by now and if so is there anything we should do?

I submitted my Papers same day as you, I got mine saturday, but my friend who also submitted on the same day has not received his yet, It took my paket 10 days to get transferred to CSC from TSC and then another day before my NOA1 was generated and mailed, sometimes it takes as long as 30 days. Have they cashed your

    Check yet?

Thanks for that! That's a relief to know others are still waiting too.

Youre welcome!, hang in there it will happen!

Ours went in last week to Vermont, and I am just waiting to hear from them now too.
