Anyone who has successfully went through this process, I have a few questions!
My fiance & I has 25 days until our wedding, so just to be clear before we start mailing this stuff out;
First question:
When we mail out the AOS form I-485, do we mail the Advanced Parole/US Travel documents form I-131 & the form I-765 for US employment in the same envelope all together?
Second question:
Advanced Parole/US Travel documents form I-131, is this for a US Passport?

Im not sure if I know what you mean...? He was just asked at immigration the same questions immigration always asks
whats the reason for your visit
Do you have any liquids or plants
How much money do you have on you... Nothing real difficult!

i am sorry @mrs boateng that i dont really have an answer to your question. But i want to know can you immediately apply for social security number once you get to the USA on a K1 visa?please what is the process
Yes you can. You just find your local Social Security office & fill out an application & wait in line.
It is free, but you should go as soon as the place opens, we were there for 3 hours waiting.

My fiance just got here on 02/11/2017 (YAY!)
We just applied for his social security number & received his I-94.
The wedding is set for 04/29/2017
The 90 days is up on 05/12/2017
My question is, because all I see is that we need to file the I-485 (we will file the I-765 & I-131 along with it) as soon as we get married, but how long after we get married is too long to wait?
Does it have to be filed before the 90 days?

I have tried 3 times with my bank card & it is not accepting it

We are trying to do this now... were you able to pay with your credit or debit card... or did you have to use a GCC card?

Also you do not need to email them. Go to dubai police web and go to online sercices and request for it.

I also wish you listened to me. Sometimes ppl here misguide others only with what they read online, neglecting what other say about a true happening or experience. Anyway. If he libed there after 2008 he does not need to send his prints as i assume he held a national ID and he was finger printed at the airport. You need to use the website, not the app. And it makes it much easier if you have his national ID number or his passport number that had the uae residency.
They send it fast. Got mine after 2 days by email.
Ok, thank you again, so much.
I hate that we are delayed by this, but it is my own fault. Lesson learned.
We will do it online immediately. -

Oh thats good to hear. Congratulations. Kindly post a consulate review if possible..will be appreciated.
Ok, I just did!

Ok! I read your posts... Why did I not listen to you before?
Anyway.
Did you do yours online or on the app?How were you able to scan your fingerprints?
He has his, but I don't know how to get them onto his phone to do it on the appor his laptop to email CDA.Certificate@dubaipolice.gov.ae his certified fingerprint, together with the transaction number and required attachments,
Also, after you applied, how long did it take to get the actual certificate to give to the consulate?

My fiance needed a police report for Qatar. For the fingerprints he had to go back to the police station in Ghana and pay the police report fee again in order to get his fingerprints. I'm thinking after you get the fingerprints you could scan it and attach in their app.
He also had to scan relevant pages in his passport, that included stamps, his visa, and his id card he used while he lived there, so maybe he could send similar info to prove identity. Since everything is through an app hopefully it won't take long.
Ok, thank you so much for this,
like this is holding up our visa & I am tired of being with my man lol!
When your fiance got his fingerprints, did he scan it & email it to himself?
Im just trying to figure out a way to get his fingerprints on his phone....

My fiance went for his interview on the 19th & was approved for his K1 (YAY!)...
However, despite being told that we did not need the police report from when he lived in Dubai since you had to get it in person, that has since changed& the US embassy in Ghana did ask he get his Good Conduct Certificate/Police Report from Dubai before they can give him the visa.
My question, because the Dubai police only tells us to complete the application on their app...
Anyone who has moved from Dubai back to Ghana (or any other country)
How can you get your Good Conduct Certificate?
I know they have an app & you can do it on their website...
BUT How do you send your fingerprints?
& How can you verify your identity (like the app instructs you to) when you are not in Dubai?
& How long does it take for them to email your Good Conduct Certificate to you once you apply?
Our visa is waiting on this so I need to know ASAP

Unless they need additional evidence, you will know that day. They will tell you approved (keep his passport & give your fiancé a blue paper) or denied (return passport & give your fiancé a whole paper).
Thank you so much! I am very excited & nervous! It has been a long road & now we are down to hours to know what fate of it is!

Hello everyone..
I had my interview on 21st December at the US embassy in Ghana.. They took my passport and gave me a blue paper and said the visa will be ready in two weeks and that I should pick it up at the DHL office...
After two weeks, I went to the DHL office and the lady told me they don't receive fiancé visa there... So I called my fiancée and told him what happened...
He called the embassy and was asked to check the visa status online which we did.. The status update was on 21st and 13th January... Its been 3 weeks and the visa isn't ready or issued...
Should I be worried??? I'm stressed and don't know what to do...
NB: No additional information was asked and it was smooth...
One more question, please, how long after the interview did they take to say your visa was approved?
Like did they interview you & say it immediately or did they make you go out to the lobby & wait... Our interview is tomorrow morning & my nerves are kicking in!

How long did the interview last? My fiance's interview is Thursday at 7am. (which is 2am my time) & I want to be awake... So, just wondering how long you had to wait & how long was the interview.
Thanks!

My fiancee just finished her medical exams at Akai clinic. was around 1830 Ghana cedis. Our interview date is january 31st, but she was asked to come back on feb 2nd after the interview with 350 Ghana cedis for more shots. Anyone had any experience with more shots after interview date and how that goes?
My fiance went to Akai clinic just 2 weeks ago & it cost the same & they told him the same thing, to come after the interview with 350 for the booster shots of what they gave him at the exam....

Ok. Well I was not prepared. I didn't plan to fall in love with someone out of the country.
But I did. & when we started the process we did not know what to expect.
We have been learning along the way.
& I try to plan & budget all I can, but I have bills & other responsibilities. But for the people who stay on this site 24/7
just to condescendingly speak with such arrogance & always have some rude comment...It is just unnecessary. This site it to help people, & be encouraging...Not to be some "Know It All" & brag about how you have it more together than everyone else.
If you feel the need to say something smart or rude or just to say "READ THE GUIDES"
It is very simple to NOT COMMENT.
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Do you all want a trophy for be the most prepared?

It just isn't fair that the fee is so high that most people are forced to not have a nice wedding.
The government makes more than enough money to be able to make the fees less! That's why so many of us opt for a *very* small wedding and no honeymoon at all. Maybe we'll share a McDonald's meal on the way to the post office to mail our AOS forms.
-
I love when people are sarcastic.... Thanks!
It was simple to google. "USCIS fees" Poof: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/our-fees
-
I really cannot believe the USCIS has raised the cost of their already ridiculously high fees even higher!
They must really not one anyone from any country to be able to afford to come to America!
Please tell me how you expect someone to afford a wedding,
a honeymoon,
& the NOW $1,140 AOS fee plus the $85 Biometric fee
ALL WITHIN 90 DAYS!
From $1070 to $1225... Just for one form!
I am really glad we only have that one left
& the Form to Remove Conditions on Residence in 2 years
& even that is now $595!
They really even raise the petition cost from $340 to $535.
Soon there will be no immigrants because no one can afford to come here legally. -
