wow congratulations 🎉. How long did it take for the embassy to schedule an interview for your husband after filling and submitting the DS-160 form?
It actually took much longer than the 6 weeks that they say it does. I had to keep calling and trying to get through to find out his status. It took about 3 months. I kepy emailing and eventually they told me that it was taking a long time to get an interview scheduled with the Ghana embassy.

Thanks! I will be sure to do that when he comes!

Hello,
My husband is coming to the USA in the next 2 weeks. how long does it take to get a social secuirty number? Is this a process that we need to intiate or does it just come through the mail after they give you a immigration visa?
Thanks in advance!

I dont know how many pages. I exported our whole chat history from 2015- present. I sent my hubby the file and he edited out a few conversations that he thought was too personal. He brought this to the interview.

Amen!! My husband had his visa interview this morning and was approved!! I'm so happy. Finally it is almost over and he will be here soon. He was there a few hours and says that he had a older white man that was friendly. He was smiling and only asked a few questions.
Questions:
1. How did you meet your wife?
2. What have you been doing in ghana while waiting?
Then some small chat about doing Uber business (which my husband does). then he says that he was approved!
Its been almost a year exactly since we first started this process. We included chats from watsapp since 2015-present, Facebook chat from 2014, calling history, wedding pics, and maybe 10 pics of us doing things casually. also western union money transfers. my mom was able to attend the wedding and we have pics of that, so i believe that helped. I know it is common to front load for the Ghana embassy, but honestly I didn't. I only included 2 pictures from the wedding initially. Everything else I mentioned was taken to the interview. I'm not saying I'm suggesting this, but honestly I didn't even know about front loading when I submitted my NVC application lol. Good luck all that are waiting! And if I can be of help to someone waiting on the Ghana process let me know. I had a pretty straight forward and smooth Visa process.

I mailed my documents to my husband Fedex last Thursday and he said they called him today telling him his package arrived to the local FedEx office in Ghana and they will deliver it to him directly tomorrow. When I sent it last Thursday, the FedEx office said he would receive it on Friday the 26th but it looks like he will get it sooner.
Wow you can mail documents to Fedex office through USPS?? thats interesting

When sending through USPS, where did you send it? obviously they can't deliver it to a house, so what builiding would it be sent to?

I've shipped documents and protein powder to my husband through usps.I've never had any problem with them. Once the package gets to Ghana , it was in Accra for almost two weeks before we received it but everything was in the box. They do not update the tracking through usps when it gets to Accra. You can try DHL , UPS and FedEx. But those were much more expensive. They've also cracked down on mail theft lately. My husband has sent things to me and I've sent things to him it usually takes 12-16 days.
by that do you mean that it takes 12-16 days to get to Ghana, then sites in accra for 2 weeks ( so a total of about a month to recieve the item) or that it takes a total of about 12-16 days for your husband to recieve it (including wait time in accra. ) also, do you send it to a postal service for pick up, or can it be sent to a persons home? My husbadn is in madina. Also, if it doesn't come to the house, how would my husband be notified that it is there? Sorry for so many questions, but nervous about sending mail internationally.

I need to ship my original marriage certificate and a few photos for my husbands interview June 19 in Accra Ghana. Has anyone ever mailed doucments over to Ghana? If so what is the best safest shipping option to use. Also how long does it usually take to get there?

Hello!
I am applying for a visa for my spouse in Ghana. we are at the stage of affidavit of support. I have currently been working for 3 months full time. This is my first full time position, so I don't have any other tax returns to prove that I have been working full time. I was in college before my full time job. My current income puts me well above the poverty line 125% for a family of 2. Can I still qualify as a sole supporter of my husband? Or would it be better if I have a co-sponsor? I do have my mom that can be a co-sponsor if need.
I am worried that I may not be able to be a sole sponsor because I haven't been full time very long and I also don't have assests. But I do make annually 35,000 a year, its just that I havn't been in the position long.

Thanks for your responses! Just found out today that our petition was apporved. I expected it to take much longer than 3 months for the first part. Once step closer to a visa. I will continue doing research on the next steps to come

Hello, Ghana is a very tough embassy I would suggest you read through Ghana's portal and learn as much as you can on this embassy, the do's and don't, it's great that you spent 8 months with him, but any issues that you think you will have its gonna be best to combat it with front loading your petition when you send in during the NVC stage, as always good luck on your journey ??☺️
Would you mind explaining to me what front loading is? Also, what is NVC?

gregcrs2 is correct about the K3 and the CR1 timeline.
I just want to add that the only method that would allow your spouse to come to the US is a visitor visa. And to be brutally honest it is not likely for him to receive a visitor visa for two reasons. 1. Ghana is one of the most difficult countries to obtain a US visa. 2. Your husband already has a petition out so they will look at him as already having a visa process in the works.
However, if he is able to obtain a visitor visa then of course he can visit you. Keep in mind that it will only be visits to the US, not a move to the US.
Unfortunately this is true. I know that a visitors visa is pretty much impossible. we tried it, and it didnt work. i was hoping that there would be a faster way. i guess i will just have to visit him for the time being.

Hello!
Im sure this questions has been asked here before, but is there a way to bring my spouse to the USA while waiting for a response to the petition? I really miss him and we have already been apart for 3 months (I came back to the usa in March after living in Ghana with him for 8 months). I heard that the K-3 visa can bring your spouse over while you wait, but I have also seen some contradictory information on the forum stating that it doesn't work. Also, how long does it usually take for this whole process to be completed?
Thanks, all information would be much appreciated. I am so new to this and a bit confused. i miss my husband so much and dont know what to do.
