no you do not need to get another medical exam as you recently had one. However, you may need the 693a (immunization form)filled out by a civil surgeon. Be careful, many will charge you for a full exam so you need to remind them that all you need is a vaccination supplement form.
i think you need to send them the I130 NOA2 with your AOS application. look at this link

I just had my interview today and they took the I94 form my wifes visa. They told me it was no longer needed. He cautioned my wife about leaving the country before the green card arrives as they may detain her at the POE.
I asked him about the K3 visa and it allowing multiple reentry. His response was that since the AOS is approved, that visa is no longer valid. Trying to leave the country and coming back with that k3 visa will not be allowed as the the AOS approval has superseded this. He did say that if we needed to leave the country, to get an infopass appt and explain the situation.
Good Luck

Hi all. I hope everyone gets approved soon.
Today, my wife and I had her AOS interview in the Los Angeles Service center. It was a pleasant experience (once the interview actually started).
First, we arrived about ten minutes late because we could not find parking. We should have done our research better, but still no harm done.
When we arrived, we placed our interview notice on the desk and sat down. ABout 15 minutes later, the interviewer called us into our office. He asked us to stand and raise our right hands. When we did that, he asked us to swear to tell the truth, which we did. Then he told us to sit down.
He asked for our passports. I looked through the envelope where we had placed our paperwork and found my passport, but could not find my wife's passport. We started to panic and looked around the room. Then we were going to go back out to look, but he told us not to worry and that he will have security look around the building for us. When he brought security, i remebered that I had taken out the passport at the entrance to the building in case they needed it and placed it in my pocket. When i felt my pocket, there was her passport and our day and panic were saved.
After that tense moment, the interviewer asked my wife if the address was current and then flipped thorugh the paperwork. He then verfied the questions on the application which were yes/no(are you involved with a terroist group?, Were you part of the Communist party, did you ever involve in prostitution, etc.).
He then asked her about the weather in India and reminisced about a friend of his describing the heat. He then said our case was easy. He then went to the computer and wrote an approval letter and stamped our file as approved. HE said welcome to America and gave my wife the letter.
he cautioned us about leaving the country before the greencard comes or she would be detained at the POE for some time till they verified her info. If we need to leave emergently then we will need to get an infopass appointment.
I asked about the I551 stamp, but he said that it was not necessary as she would get her greencard soon. They dont routinely give them to you unless you need to leave the country emergently.
We then thanked him and he walked us out of the office.
i want to thank all VJers for their support and encouragement through this grueling process.
Once again good luck to all and speedy apporovals to all.

Congrats.
I have a quick question. YOu mentioned that you had an approved stamp in your husbands passport. Is that a I551 stamp? My wife and I will be interviewed on March 20th and were wondering if the I551 stamp is given at the Los Angeles service center.
Thank you
-
just a quick question. I just found out about the I551 stamp (thank VJ). I have been searching all over vJ and cross referencing it to the los angeles service center. I have tried the search function and after one hour, i still have not found the answer i am looking for. PLease help.
I was trying to find out if people who have interviewed at the Los Angeles service center for the AOS have received a I551 stamp. My wife has not yet received her EAD, so she can not get a SSN. She can not drive and she is basically stuck at home. Our interview is coming up on the 20th of March and I want to know if they stamp the I551 so she can at least get a drivers license and be more mobile.
Thank you in advance.

congrats. I know the feeling as well as we have just been through it. Good luck on the rest of your journey

uscis sent me a letter saying we have our AOS interview on March 20th. we are both very excited.
Hope all those before us get a similar letter.
Incidenatally, we have no update on our EAD which now is a moot point. ALso USCIS website last touched our file on 1/20/07, but the notice date was 1/29/07 so i am assuming the website is behind.
Anyways good luck to all

wow, all look svery tasty. its making me very hungry

I put a. I put this becasue we already have an I130 appication approved. it is my understanding that Spouses of USC have an immediate immigrant number as there is no waitlist or quota for us. I checked with a lawyer and they told me to check a as well.
Good luck.
Hi guys,Quick question on I-485 form if someone can help. I am on K-3 visa and about to file for adjustment of status (I-485). In the form, Part 2 (Application Type) requires I click on options A-G. There is no direct option for K-3 visa and when we called USCIS we got three different responses - A, B and H (other) from three different reps. I've listed the options below so people don't have to pull up the form. Your help is most appreciated. Thanks...
--------------------------------------------------
Part 2. Application type. (Check one.)
I am applying for an adjustment to permanent resident status because:
a. an immigrant petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number has beenapproved. (Attach a copy of the approval notice, or a relative, special immigrant juvenile orspecial immigrant military visa petition filed with this application that will give you animmediately available visa number, if approved.)
b. my spouse or parent applied for adjustment of status or was granted lawful permanent residence in an immigrant visa category that allows derivative status for spouses and children.
c. I entered as a K-1 fiancé(e) of a United States citizen whom I married within 90 days of entry,or I am the K-2 child of such a fiancé(e). (Attach a copy of the fiancé(e) petition approvalnotice and the marriage certificate).
d. I was granted asylum or derivative asylum status as the spouse or child of a person grantedasylum and am eligible for adjustment.
e. I am a native or citizen of Cuba admitted or paroled into the United States after January 1,1959, and thereafter have been physically present in the United States for at least one year.
f. I am the husband, wife or minor unmarried child of a Cuban described above in (e) and I amresiding with that person, and was admitted or paroled into the United States after January 1,1959, and thereafter have been physically present in the United States for at least one year.
g. I have continuously resided in the United States since before January 1, 1972.
h. Other basis of eligibility. Explain. If additional space is needed, use a separate piece of paper.

congrats on taking this step. It is not fair that they have kept you waiting so long.
If it was me, I would call at least once a week after a few weeks. But honestly i dont know what the answer is.
Good luck

i have never heard that. I printed passport pics for my passport renewal, my K3 and I130 applications without a problem. In fact, if it was illegal to print out passport pictures, there would need to be some way to verify that the pictures were genuine (which they do not have). What they may have meant is that it is illegal to duplicate professional pictures.
For all of my passport pictures, i have cropped one of my digital pictures and changed the background to white and printed them at a rite aid self service picture counter.

try one of these sites. they have free calling to UK by dialing a US number. Check it out.
Also here is a website for your fiance to use in the UK to call you for free (cost of UK call)
http://www.yourcallworld.com/more.aspx
If you use your unlimited cell phone minutes at night time, it becomes free. Let me know how this works out.

my spouse was denied a visitors visa in june 2006 and they knew we were engaged at that point. The consular officer asked her about the denial at her K3 interview, but then said it doen not matter anyway for this type of visa. I was there next to her flaunting my US citizenship to the consular officer. I am almost certain that if i were not there, they mayhave given he a very hard time and possibly even deny her. Who knows though?
ANyway, I am glad that i was there and recommend anyone with doubts about their case to have their spouse present at any interview, if possible.
Good Luck

congrats.
Good luck with wedding planning

dont forget that once they get here on the K3, there are more fees to pay and the original I130 application is wasted so you have to start over with the AOS. Then you have to pay for a EAD so she/he can get a EAD. ALL ridiculous.
Count me in
-
when i investigated the option, I chose against it. There is a length of residency requirement (at least in India). There are some embassies where this is not the case.
-
My checks were cashed as well today. Just wondering if anyones receipt number is active yet on the USCIS website.
Good Luck

you can file for the K3 visa (which is also a 129f form). You need to send a copy of the NOA1 from the I130 form
The only thing you can not file for is the fiance visa (K1) as you ar already married.
The K1 and K3 use the same 129f form
Good LUck

prior to marriage, my wife tried to get a visitors visa in chennai and it was denied. When she went to the K3 visa interview, the consular officer asked her why the visitors visa was denied. After her answer, he said that it odes not matter for this type of visa anyway.
Good luck

I would not worry about that. They will not stop you unless they suspect fraud.
