  1. I went to the post office and they said that my last name changing wouldn't have mattered :/

I called USCIS and they put in a service request for me and said I should get something within 30 days :/

Did your status say the same thing as mine?

Yes I got the same message saying that it was sent back to USCIS by the us postal service on the 8th, and i got the same 180 days, etc. Gave me a heart attack of course haha.

I also went to the local office to verify that it is the same mailing address, which it was.

Do you live in an apartment complex? I do, and I'm not sure if whether or not that was the reason it was sent back. I think i read somewhere that for Gov't documents, you need to have your name on the mailbox, but I'm not 100% sure.

They also put in a service request for me and said 15-30 days I should expect it.

I also talked with another individual who is going through the same problem. She said it shouldn't delay the process, assuming it was an NOA1 and not an RFE.

They told me they were unable to determine what kind of document it was, but they think it was NOA1. I'm sure it was the same for you.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  2. Hello July filers,

A little late to join the party but I thought I should add my status. I received text/ email on 7/27 of my NOA1 with the WAC number. I did not receive a hard copy of 797 but when I checked my status on USCIS, something was returned to USCIS on August 9. So I am assuming it's NOA1 and not RFE. I called USCIS and they were nice, but couldn't tell me what was returned. Hope we will get NOA2 soon. This waiting game is killing me.

This is exactly what happened to me. I sent mine in on July 15, got text/email on 7/21, but never received hard copy. I called and everything and they told me on the phone that it was 'undeliverable'. We talked and they resent it. I even went to the local office to verify that the mailing address was correct, which it was.

Still waiting on my NOA1 hard copy. Been 30 days since I mailed the packet.

  3. I got an update on my case today.

Long story short: the US Post Service Mailed my [NOA1?] back to the USCIS because it was "undeliverable."

I called and a woman answered and helped me immensely. Not sure what it was, but they couldn't mail it back. So I gave her my information, mailing address and all, and she says I should receive it in the mail in 15-30 days. (Hopefully sooner, fingers crossed)

I asked her if she was able to determine whether or not it was the Receipt Notice or an RFE. - she couldn't tell with what she had.

--- If it's a receipt notice, then yay, no negative affect on processing times for my case. If it's an RFE, then that of course delays my case.

Prayers and luck that it's only the NOA1 copy.

  4. Did you receive an RFE and you responded by sending your birth certificate?

You may also want to call USCIS and get this straightened out.

I haven't received anything in the mail. Sent in my I129F packet and they received it on July 18 . I haven't received the hard copy of the NOA1.

Think I will call them as soon as possible

  5. Today I received a text saying that my case stays had been updated..

On the USCIS website it said:

the Post Office returned your document to us. We will hold your document for 180 days or until February 4, 2017. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we resend the document to you. If you do not submit an online request by February 4, 2017, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), with fee.

I feel that it might mean my birth certificate.. What does this update mean? What do I do?

At the bottom, it said to Update or verify mailing address... How do I do this??

    #panicking

  6. Hello friends!

So I send in my I 129F on 15 July, 2016. I filled out the G 1145 form so that I could get text and email notifications. So I received the email and text on 21 July, and it said that I should receive the hardcopy NOA1 in the mail within 7 to 10 days. Well it's been 16 days since they have received it in the California service Center and I'm just curious as to why the hardcopy is taking so long to get here.

Is there anyone else with the same problem?

  7. Me and my fiancée just might be anxious about the receiving the hard-copy receipt notice.. but we are trying to figure out when we are supposed to receive this "hard-copy" NOA1 so that we can see what instructions we need to follow up from that.

We sent in the I-129F on July 15, 2016. I also filed for the G-1145 form for E-notice.

Everything was looking good from there, I received an email and text message on July 21, 2016 (6 days after sending I-129F) saying that my "case was accepted and routed to the USCIS California Service Center for processing." It also included, "Within 7-10 days by standard mail, you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with receipt number...."

I went to Check my case status on the USCIS website with my receipt number that I got in the email, and it said that they received it on July 18, 2016 (3 days after sending I-129F).

So since then, I was expecting the hard copy NOA1 within 7-10 days of July 18, 2016 (expecting something by July 28, 2016). --- Nothing 10 days later

So then I figured, maybe I should be expecting it 7-10 days from when I received the email. Well, today (August 1,2016) is the 10th day from the email... so hopefully I will have it by the end of the day.

p.s. It could be very probable that it is 7-10 business days by mail.. I wish they would specify. It's a bit concerning when I only see many individuals getting their Hard Copy NOA1 7 days after sending the petition.
