  1. As far as I know the email address is Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov somone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Also you need to make the subject of the email your MTL number and your DS160 receipt number. They have a very clear example on the checklist.

I followed the checklist to the letter so I'm hoping I get mine back soon. I'm kinda freakin out here lol.

Ah I see! We had an interview scheduled but it was cancelled because she didn't send proof of her Status in Canada.

We've scheduled a new one and now just crossing our fingers it doesn't get cancelled again. We sent the proof of her status along with the other packet 3 stuff again via the same email address that you sent to.

We sent that on Oct 10.. still waiting on response.

Also sent some inquiries.. but still have yet to receive a response on that too.

  2. I've looked at a lot of timelines on here and it seems like Package 4 takes between 3-12 business days. I'm on my 6th business day waiting. If I don't hear back from them by Thursday I'm emailing in the packet 3 again.

Where was your email addressed to? I want to make sure she is sending to the right email.

    Thanks for your response!!

  3. Packet 4 was emailed to us within like 9 hours. Most people get it within the same day as long as it's not the weekend, the longest are usually 48 hours.

Make sure they have processed you case though. MANY of us have sent packet 3 emails before Montreal processes the case, in which they just simply ignore the email. Them having it, is not the same as them processing it. We sent one packet 3 too early, email was ignored, we sent it again after I found out that it was processed and 9 hours later we got packet 4.

So watch your email, packet 4 is basically a long typed up email, you won't get anything in the mail other than a hard copy of packet 3, but most send off their packet 3 email well before getting the packet 3 hard copy.

    Thank you for your response!

Do you recall where we are supposed to address the emailed documents to?

    We did it to montreal-iv-dv@state.gov

    Thanks again.

  4. Hello,

My Fiancee has her interview scheduled. The only documents we are needing is the police record. Now, She is currently in another country, Canada. I know that the Embassy requires the beneficiary to bring in some Police records from any places of residence for an extended period of time.

She is from Venezuela (got police records from there). She came to the US for University (where we met) and stayed here for 4 years. These are the only places she has lived for an extended period of time.

I would love some clarification. There was somewhere that I read that she would NOT need police records from the US, since they will be doing a background check on her anyways.

Is there anyone that can verify if this is true? Is there anyone that didn't bring Police records that can give feedback?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  5. In our case, yes my fiance received a packet with instructions in the mail once the case was received in his country by the embassy.. But we also did not need to wait for this... The K1 application was online and so were the instructions.

Great! Thank you for your response! I have already received my NVC case number and saw that the case status was sent to the US Embassy in the country that she's in.

The case status now says that it's ready to schedule interview but she still needs to gather some more documents to be ready for the interview.

I know that it varies from country to country, but do you or does anyone know how long the wait is once we schedule an interview appointment? I don't want to schedule it and her still not have all of her documents by the time the interview comes around.

  6. If you go to the Venezuela portal, you can read about the embassy specific information, some of it is outdated, but I believe it does have the email listed there that you should email to request packet 3. Good luck!

Thanks for your response! My Venezuelan fiancee is residing in Canada, so I believe she would instead go to a Canada portal?

  7. My approval notice (NOA2) is dated August 31, 2016.

After finally reaching a customer service rep from the NVC to see if I can get my case number, he told me that I have to wait 6 weeks until I call back to get a case number....

Is it really 6 weeks? I see people saying like 1-2 weeks after receiving the NOA2 hard copy in the mail.

Best thing to do Is call every day I gues, haha.

  8. Thanks! this is super helpful. When did u send the file? I sent mine on July 15. Also with minimal requirements, sent 129f, letters of intent, 5 photos, calls logs from 3 months (20 pages). g325a, passport photos, passport, and naturalization certificate. I had a good stack but wasn't that too thick.

I'm glad it could ease a few nerves!

I also sent my file on July 15. They received it July 18.

Our packets sound pretty similar! I had 2 months worth of FaceTime logs (only 3 pages).

Hopefully you will be hearing soon!

I checked last night at 9:38 and it was approved.. I received a text at 10:04 that said that there was an update on my case (but I already knew that hehe)

  9. If he brings any comfort or info to anyone, my case was approved last night, 08/31, and I sent in my packet with the minimal requirements that were needed. I included all the necessary documents, intent to marry, a brief summary of how we met, the two passport-style photos, our FaceTime call records, and 5 photos of me and my fiancée together.

I did not have stacks and stacks of papers although I'm not saying that this is the reason why my packet got approved.

Just if anybody was curious to know.

  10. score I went to bed last night I checked my case status and when I tried to log in it said Account locked due to either inactivity (which is definitely not the case!) or too many unsuccessful attempts.

Although I know for sure I was using the correct info (I check this page 20 times a day?) I did what they said and reset my password. Got an email confirmation that it was reset. But this morning it still says I'm locked out!

    Has anyone had this happen?

Yes that happened to me last night. Just give is some time, mine was working again this morning

  11. Checked my case status at 9:40pm today,

    CASE APPROVED!

So elated... Did not expect anything until the end of September.

    God is great.

    Case Received 07/18

    NOA1 dated 07/21

    Approved 08/31

Advice on keeping your mind off of it so much- do some wedding planning if you can.. My fiancee and I have just been making a whole bunch of preparations for the wedding, so I stayed busy with that! It helps.

Any questions feel free to ask
