  1. Hello Guys,

Sorry for replying late. My interview has been done on October 5. Officer has put my case on hold for further review as I didn't bring my I864 form. He gave me 221g white slip with the list of documents that I need to submit at CGI(Drop-off locations) with my original passport.

    Documents I'm requested for...

Form i-864 (Originally signed by petitioner)

2015 IRS form 1040(Income Tax returns)

    2015 W-2 form

We have submitted Tax returns and W-2 form(for year 2014) of petitioner last year, when they have requested in 2015. Now year has been changed(after April) and they required to see 2015's docs.

I should get those documents by Monday and will submit to local CGI center in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Typically it takes 3-4 days to review(Their timeline is 60 days) and then they issue visa.

So my advice is to bring those docs when you go for an interview.

    Hope this helps you guys.

    All the best! :-)

Wow! It is 10 days before my interview. Thanks God I participate in this thread :)

    Thank you, Mayur1608!

I was in doubt regarding bringing renewed financial documents to the interview, so I decided not to because:

    1. My dad submitted original I-864EZ, and copies of his 1040 and W-2 for FY2014 to NVC (in late 2015).

    2. In IL, in Required Visa Interview documents section the "FINANCIAL EVIDENCE" checked as "Y" (The NVC sent this form or document to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate).

    3. In IL, in Interview Reminder section it says "If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview".

    4. My dad never filed any tax extension.

I just called my dad and asked him to FedEx-mail me newly signed original I-864EZ (the previous signed one is in NVC) and copies of most recent Form 1040 + W2.
Again, Thank you all, especially Mayur1608! I will keep you posted, don't doubt.
  2. I just called Sumit and as per the talk I felt NVC have started scheduling interview for March. His friend with PD March 04, 2010 got interview schedule on Oct 05. So it seems in next visa bulletin we may see jump of ~35 days(March 5, 2010)

    Denique hic! :dancing:

    I've received it this morning:

    August 29, 2016

An immigrant visa interview is scheduled at the U.S. Embassy in MOSCOW, RUSSIA on October 19, 2016.
    Priority Date: January 25, 2010
    CC letter: August 2, 2016
  3. Hi,

Your PD will probably be current in the September 2016 Visa Bulletin. Please come back to let us know when you get your interview.

    Safe journey.

I've just received the following, it looks like the case completion letter:
    02AUG16
    Dear Sir/Madam,
The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.
NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first- out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.
When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.

    Preference Category: F2B
    Priority Date: 25JAN10
  4. I can only speak for my country, dunno if the laws there are similar or no - but unless there is a marriage certificate, signed by both parties and legally registered, technically she's still your girlfriend\fiancee.

I don't think there is anything wrong for you to enter the country, receive your green card then go back to your home country to marry.

You will need to return to the US - your new wife cannot return with you, she'll have to wait until her application is complete and basically do the same thing you did when you applied and interviewed.

Do you have a registered marriage, with a certificate signed by both parties?

What do you mean that you have a civil marriage?

I'm sorry for the confusion. In Russia, in colloquial speech, term "Civil marriage" is used to refer to the actual cohabitation. So it is not a legally registered wedlock :)

  5. ...

She then asked my daughter and i if we intended to get married before we leave the country? We said no.She then said if we intended to marry then our visas will be cancelled. Then we had to sign a form my daughter and i that we cannot marry.

    ...

    This is really interesting!

What kind of form did you sign?

I've been living with my girlfriend for the last 7 years. We have a civil marriage. And we are planning to get married right away as soon as I get my GC.

As I understand it, I can not get married before I arrived in the US, because my immigrant visa (which, as I understand, I need only to cross the border) will be cancelled. I do not want to lie on interview, but I hope no one has a right to forbid me to arrive in US using IV, wait for actual GC arrived in mail, go back home to Russia, get married, and return to US to file another I-130 for my wife?

    Are there any pitfalls?
