  1. Did anyone ever hear of them asking for the petitioner's BC at interview time? I never heard anyone mention them asking for that. That's about the only thing we didn't bring with me to Manila is my original BC, and we have a lot of stuff here.

Didn't read anything about it though, but a friend told me i needed it, since Eric has a copy of his BC, he sent it together with the other docs.

But dont be really bothered coz its not mentioned in the Packet4.

I hope others here can clarify that too, if its really important.

    Goodluck!

    Mari

  6. Hey! I just realized today makes 1 year for us on VJ! Thanks for the companionship and support you all have given as Luz and I go through the visa journey. Heres to the second year seeing a marriage and AOS completed!

Goodluck for the upcoming interview and valentine reunion with your lovey dovey here in the Phils and happy VJ anniversary.

    Ingats,

  7. We have bad news, are case is under AR for a few reasons. I am still getting the details for her at this time. We will have too wait now, she was told a week. Not a good start!

Just think positive vic&el4ever. Ill be praying for your visa too. Hope El will be able to provide the docs or info needed by the US embassy as soon as she can.

    Ingats,

  8. Sure you where there with Fel correct?

Wow less 12 hours away, we had a late night and she is still working as we speak.

Good luck too all! God bless!!!

    Yes, I was with Fel(felnfrank), Ana(Steve-n-Ana), Tessa(Thersch) and Analou(gobdogman's fiancee).

Hope everything goes well with El's interview. I know she can make it!

    Ingats,

  9. Hi Lyann and Joone! Congrats once again on ur interview sched. Its getting closer now.

I did my CFO last January 24 - I arrived at PRISMS (Taft) together with WOF and VJ girls (Steve-n-Ana, Thersch, felnfrank and Lebby) 12:30pm and registered for 1:30pm session, theres a film viewing about abused filipina married to a Dutch and then open forum discussion and one and one counselling - they asked for pictures, divorce decree and asked about our love story. got my certificate of attendance at 4pm then hurried to CFO main office (quirino - 50pesos by taxi) to get the green certificate.. and then the STICKER later on when i already have my visa. CFO main office closes at 5pm so its better to be able to attend the seminar earlier so you can accomplish everything in just 1 day. I paid 400+300 for the CFO.

And i did my medical Jan 25-26. 1st day started early, we lined up at 6:45am then presented my Appointment Letter to the guard and got a number 160 and forms to fillup and a working flowchart, then when my number was called i gave 1 visa pic and went upstairs to pay PhP4,655 and the medical process begins - X-Ray, Blood extractions and Urinalysis, Vital signs and Physical checkup and Immunization interview and then checked out at around 2pm and told to comeback the next day at 10am. At 2nd day, arrived 10pm and then after a few minutes my name was called for vaccination and then went to the ground floor to wait for the result and called around noon and gave my passport and 2 visa pics., they handed me the Xray film and the vaccination worksheet.

All in all, it was an easy experience except for the waiting when your name be called. Coz its not first come first serve there.

Hope this helps and if you dont have the Packet 4 yet, try downloading first the packet 4 found in the US embassy website or in Sheriff Uling's signature so that you can compile now the documents needed for the interview.

And im just an IM or text away for any clarification or questions! Hope to meet you in Manila. :star:

    Ingat lagi,

    Mari

  11. Yes Jo ..no fun at all there  ..whew im glad its over!! I drop my papers in the releasing counter at 5:am and they called my name at 2:40 for vaccination and wait another 21/2 hour before they release my paper and give my x-ray result! :

My son had to do another x-ray 5x different position and taht means expose himself to the radiation :( .they do that to make sure what is ''suspicious abnormalities''that they saw before..and Thanks God everything is clear and they even told my son Ok your a ''very healthy boy u can go to USA '':rolleyes: ,W e start Robin's paper at 8 and were done at 5:30!!

Im just glad its over and I thank God for that! Thanks for your prayers Jo.. (F)

Glad to see familiar faces from VJ and WOF members! They are all so nice and sweet!

    (F)

It was nice to see you in person T'Luzy and im glad that your son's medical is done now. I also want to say thanks for your post re medical record for any scar. I was able to bring with me my histopathologic report for my thyroidectomy last year and made me finished my medical with no problem last friday. Thanks again and i hope to meet you again soon. Goodluck on your interview.

And to all who will be going to have their medical.. all i can say is - its not first come first serve there, your waiting will depend on the staff who touches your docs and all you could do is to wait when your name gonna be called. I arrived there together with VJ friends at 6:45am and able to finished ahead or almost thesame to some of those who came very early. And one thing also, come back what time they told you to comeback. They told us to comeback at 10am on the 2nd day, we went there at 10am and just a few minutes they gave me my vaccination. And then waited in the ground floor for my name to be called for the result and xray film... it was a long wait but noticed again that its never a first come first serve coz i was called ahead to some of those who came earlier.

So just enjoy the medical thing - its not that hard and scary.

Thanks also to Steve-n-Ana, Thersch and felnfrank for a wonderful time with you. Next time again. It was nice to meet dogmansgirl too and her cutie lil baby.

    (L) Mari

  12. I suggest getting an employment letter showing you are employed by the company at the present time. the more current, the better.

It was dated Dec 2006, and Eric accepted that offer last month also, and he would have few paystubs before the interview as another proof. It is still current i think. Would that be okay or you will still suggest to get an employment letter? Thanks.

    Mari

  13. Steve3656...

Question: Do you know if they still require a bank account letter for the interview or is that optional.

Answer: Yes! The instructions for the I-134 state that:

"The sponsor must submit in duplicate evidence of incomeand resources, as appropriate:

    A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits...

    .........1. Date account opened;

    .........2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

    .........3. Present balance.

    B. Statement of your employer on business stationery, revealing:

    .........1. Date and nature of employment;

    .........2. Salary paid;

.........3. Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

    C. If self-employed:

.........1. Copy of last income tax return filed

.........2. Report of commercial rating concern.

    D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s)."

NOTE: Most sponsors do NOT submit anything under item "D", but the USE does't seem to mind because not everyone has stocks and bonds. On the other hand, there is a strong likelyhood that sponsors have bank account(s) and the USE may look unfavorable about a missing statement from the bank or other financial institution concerning the sponsors' deposit(s).

    Ahmari & Jhen

p.s. - VJ Family please chime in...

    steve3656,

you can provide copies bank statements instead of letter from the bank. what I provided my fiancee with was 3 most recent tax transcripts, copies of the W-2, notarized form I-134, and a letter from my employer. I didn't provide bank statements or bank letter, but I'm not recommending you don't. I didn't feel it necessary with my particular situation.

Let's say, for example, that your income is 3X the poverty level. Is there any point at all in providing a bank statement or letter from the bank for an account with say, $3000 in it? Or for that matter, is there any point in providing anything other than the employer letter, copies of tax returns, and W-2 forms?

Is the OFFER LETTER (in company letterhead) sufficient enough as employer letter/certificate of employment? The annual rate and benefits were stated and the option when to start also.

    Thanks,

    Mari

  14. Ahhh I love NetFlix! Finally a way to see so many classic films you could never find in a Blockbuster. Here are some I think are just incredible movies....

    BEST FILMS

--- The Third Man - Saw it for the first time and it immediately went to my top ten ever

--- Lawrence of Arabia - greatest of all epic films

--- Singin In The Rain - best musical/dance film

    ALFRED HITCHCOCK

    --- Rear Window

    --- Shadow of a Doubt

--- anything else because he is the master!

    SILENT

--- Charlie Chaplin - City Lights - My teenaged son replayed the hilarious boxing scene 3 times.

--- Nanook Of The North - First documentary ever made. 1922 silent film about an eskimo family

    WESTERNS

--- The Wild Bunch - my fav western,

--- The Magnificent Seven - great music and fun

--- Red River - John Wayne classic

    MYSTERY/DRAMA

--- Manchurian Candidate (original version of course!)

--- Maltese Falcon - Humphrey Bogart and great cast

    --- Chinatown

--- Sleuth - great cast and story

--- LA Confidential - Modern classic!

--- Memento - another modern classic

    COURTROOM

    --- 12 Angry Men

    --- Witness For The Prosecution

    --- Inherit The Wind

    COMEDY

--- Night At The Opera - Marx Brothers classic

    --- The Producers (original version)

    DAVID LYNCH

--- Eraserhead (Unlike anything you have ever seen!)

    --- The Elephant Man

I love movies and over the past few years have put together a pretty terrific home theater. I've seen info posted here about plasma and other big screen TVs. They are great but you can't neglect the sound. A good surround sound system is a MUST!! It totally changes the viewing experience.
