  1. We live in Casablanca, so it was slightly easier. Actually, his exam was supposed to be yesterday, but after running around for all the different tests, the nurse called to say that the doctor wouldn't be in the office when the exam was scheduled for- so he had to go today. The whole street where the office was located had no electric, so that complicated things a little!

Living there would make it a little easier. It's definitely beautiful there! We visited in Jan when I was in country for 3 weeks. I was back in Sept for Eid Adha, but only for a week then and we only stayed in Marrakech.

Did you fiancé get the same message to call tomorrow for results and pick up the results before the interview? That's what mine was told.

  2. Hi, thanks :) We also received the packet 3 and 4 last week. My fiance went for his medical exam also today! Maybe they crossed paths :P Yep, it cost exactly 2400 dirhams.

Sounds like we are just about in the same position! When is his interview? My fiance's is Nov. 4.

My habibi's interview is Nov 7th, a few days after yours. Where was your fiancé traveling from? Mine came up to Casablanca from Marrakech. He's still on the train home!

I don't know about your fiancé, but it took 7 hours today to do all the medical exams for mine. Apparently they have them run all over the city for the different tests. I was a nervous wreck worrying about him traveling so far back and forth and doing the medical all in one day.

  3. Not sure if these questions were ever answered or not but here is my experience so far....

NVC sent paper work to Casablanca on 9/25/16. I waited a week and had not heard from the consulate. I emailed them on 10/7/16. I planned on following up every Friday, but I got a confirmation and packet 3/4 in my email 10/11/16. This consulate will schedule your appointment for you. You do not get a say in the date of it. In the paperwork you will find that you need to get your medical done about two weeks before your appointment.

For the medical you will need to print out the packet 3/4 email and take it with you to the doctor. You will also need 6 photos (passport style). While the consulate website says the appointment costs $400 MAD that is ONLY for the appointment. It will roughly be $2400 MAD for the X-rays, exam, vaccinations, and other tests. We called before we got there to get an exact figure from the doctor. Also, there are only two doctor's in all of Morocco you can go to and both are located in Casablanca.

We have our medical tomorrow morning (his time) so that's all the info I have right now.

  4. What is everyone doing in terms of wedding plans? :)

We're planning a multi-day celebration like in Morocco with the ceremony being a small courthouse affair with my mom, sons, two best friends, and their spouses on Monday. A henna party for all the close women I know on Thursday. Finally, a large reception at our house on Friday. I actually just purchased some more decorations for the reception and I already have the two wedding dresses I'm going to wear. Save the Date cards went out last month, but we're holding off on the invitations until after his interview on Nov 7th. That way we can be certain.

We're having the reception at home in my HUGE backyard in a large tent so I don't have to worry about venue issues if something truly bad happens. *fingers crossed everything goes well*

  5. Two weeks my case has been at the NVC. I called last Tuesday and got my case number and invoice number, but it hasn't moved on yet to Morocco.

How long does it normally take? And why won't it hurry along? :(

Plus side, we have the police and court records with translation, all the support information, pictures from my recent trip there for a week (plus boarding passes and passport stamps), and we're ready for the packet to get here so we can schedule the medical.

  6. I'm getting myself confused.

My case has been passed on to the NVC. I called and got my case number and invoice number. I keep checking it and all it says is "At NVC". Then under that is a link to 6 more steps you need to do including pay another fee and submit supporting documents (which I already did). Are these steps I'm supposed to be doing or not? I don't see these steps on the list from VJ, but that doesn't means I won't worry about doing something wrong.

    Please help my sanity!

  7. Sooooo, my fiancé and I agreed to be mature and patient while waiting for the case number to arrive in the mail.....

Hahaha - who are we kidding? I'd had enough waiting and called today!

Not only did I get the number, but the case was sent to London a week ago! Whoo hoo!!!!!!

I wanted to cry when the operator kindly said "You'll be dealing with London from now on! Have a nice day!"

I can't wait to tell him!!!!

I did the same thing yesterday! I knew I should wait another week since I had only gotten my NOA2 on the 7th, but I couldn't help it. I called and got my case number and invoice number! They said to call back next week or check next week and the application should be sent to Casablanca. Hearing "you'll be dealing with them from then on" was brilliant!

Habibi and I have really had to step up our wedding planning!!

  8. I'm heading off to Morocco to visit with my fiancé tomorrow morning and I'm trying to take everything he will need for his interview in a few weeks since we JUST got our NOA2 last night. In reading about the Moroccan embassy it's all pretty normal, but I'm confused about one thing. It says that my fiancé will have to pay a visa fee at the embassy. Is this a separate fee from the one I already paid when I sent in the K1 information?

I understand there are fees for the medical, transcriptions, court and police records, but is there a second fee for the application itself that's taken at the embassy or is this the same fee I paid when I submitted in July?

    Thank you for any insight.

For security reasons and to minimize waiting time, visa applicants should not bring cell phones, backpack, or large handbags and must not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to their appointment times. Applicants must present their appointment letters in order to enter the Consulate and should bring only the documents necessary for their interview.

**It is also suggested that any files (folders, notebooks, binders, etc.) brought to the interview be small OR easy to take apart as the slot in the window is somewhat limited in size and you will only be able to pass smaller items under the window.

YOU WILL NEED TO PAY VARIOUS APPLICATION FEES AT ANY BRANCH OF "Banque Marocaine pour le Commerce et lIndustrie (BMCI)" EXCEPT THE BRANCHES AT GAUTHIER AND RUE D'ALGER IN CASABLANCA. TAKE THE RECEIPT THE BANK GIVES YOU TO YOUR INTERVIEW.

    Update>>!!
The visa application processing fee has changed. For Immediate Relative Visas the cost in US dollars is $230 instead of $330 starting April 13th 2012. Which is about 1,950.45 MAD Here is the link for more info. http://morocco.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas.html

Fiance visa application cost in US dollars is now $265 as of August 26, 2015. Which is about 2,650 MAD. Here is the link for more info. http://morocco.usembassy.gov/visas/schedule-of-fees.html

However due to fluctuating rates bring a few more hundred dirhams or check Dollars and Dirham rates before interview.

    FOR CR1 VISAS:

All payments and documents (except medical) must be submitted to NVC prior to receiving interview time and date.

  9. I know this isn't unique to my fiance and I, but the waiting is excruciating. I cried myself to sleep last night as we vented our frustrations via skype. It feels like injustice, fear, excitement, all at once. Just not knowing what is happening and being completely left in the dark, meanwhile trying to not feel as if our lives are on hold, yet not having the motivation to do much beyond what is necessary to meet basic human needs until our life together can begin.

At the same time I feel silly for typing all of this, especially with the tone sounding so melodramatic to me. So many times I have seen past VJ posts from others in our exact position lamenting having not yet received an approval. Then I view their timeline to see that they only had to wait another week or two until they received what they so desperately awaited. Even in this very forum some have expressed worry and sadness only to be approved the next day. I know it's coming, but some days are easier than others to remain positive and rational in the face of the unknown. Today is just not one of those days for me, especially with the long weekend ahead, and no approvals for 3 days.

I hope that we and others here are able to look back at this time period and find that soon after the height of our anxiety we too received what we desperately awaited.

I completely understand your feelings and where you're coming from.

I explained it to my fiancé like a rollercoaster ride that goes up and down so often I feel a little sick. From 5pm PDT until 8pm PDT everyday I'm watching my phone waiting to see if I get a RFD or approval. The wait builds up and builds up just as the hope that today will be our day. Then the crash when instead of a notification about us I see the other approvals coming in. I'm truly happy for everyone who gets their approval (please don't get me wrong on that) but it feels a little like a punch to the gut to know we're left waiting again. And no matter how I try to school myself into not hoping as much the next day the same pattern repeats itself.

I refuse to put things on hold though. I'll be at a wedding tomorrow for two dear friends and then next weekend I'll be flying to Morocco for a week with my habibi and his family to celebrate the Eid. Even with that said, it was be very wonderful to get to celebrate an approval when we get to see each other again in a week.

I wish a very speedy approval for you Allison!

  10. I thought I will be chill with the waiting, WRONG! trying to check the app at least 4 times a day, pouting when I see people getting ahead of us... I am happy for them, but hoping it's us too, soon.

Smiles, I'm the same way. I'm very happy for everyone who is getting approved and moving forward, but it's a roller coast of feeling until I see something positive. Each time my phone blinks I'm hoping its a text/email about an approval. I may end up with heart palpitations with how much it goes up and down just waiting.

  11. I don't know what they asking RFE on my case.. received RFE. I sent bunch of photos, boarding pass of two visits, receipts, engagement ceremony pics, with family members, everything I could think of....Now just received RFE....<_<

    Hopes not any thing major..

I have read that including things like engagement ceremony pictures can be a red flag because they will wonder if you actually got married and should be filing the Spouse Visa instead. That could not be what's happen in your case, but that is something I've read about with others.

  12. Same here! I'm seeing my fiancé in 17 days too! I'm going to take my documents along, in case we get the NOA2 while I'm there which will make it that much sweeter.

July, we are on deck! All the best everyone!

Tasha, soon enough we will be hearing sweet words in person, every day. :)

I'm taking my documents with me as well so we can go over them in-person. I may have went a little overboard with color coded and notated tabs on each document, but I realize I'm a little ####### retentive lol. Thankfully, my habibi realizes it too and just lets me go crazy.

  13. I'm late to finding this board, but I have been lurking and learning on Visa Journey for several months. I only happened to stumble across this board while checking out the timelines and saw someone from July with a NOA2. Very excited for them!

We submitted on July 16 and it was received on July 19. Got our digital NOA1 on July 22 and the physical NOA1 on July 29th.

I'll be back in Morocco to see Habibi in 17 days. I'm hoping we'll get our NOA2 around that time so we can celebrate together!
