Quick update on the A#, got my notice of receipt yesterday and they assigned her another A# on the receipt notice.

We mailed out our package to the Chicago office from Florida on the Sat 24th but up till now, nothing has happened with regards to the USPS website.I tried to track it through the USPS website but it has been in the same status since then.Have anyone experienced this using the USPS tracking and confirmation online?
Ours took about a week to update. We got the return receipt before they updated the website.

t&s,
Not all consulates put the A# on the visa. The information you get about that from different people will depend on which consulate each person dealt with.
The Service Centers generally do put the A# on the Approval Notice, and Vermont often puts it on the Receipt Notice.
When the A# is 9 digits the leading digit should be a 0 - is that the case with your A#?
Yodrak
I've read several posts on here about the A#, some people said it was on the Visa and some say it is on the NOA2.I found the one on the NOA2, but it is a nine digit number not 8 like people wrote. There isn't an A# on the K1 visa under my wife's picture.
Thanks for the info.

They just cashed the checks today. Woohoo.

I was going to use usps priority mail with delivery confirmation, but the Postal Employee said to use Certified Mail for Green cards. A signature is required and you can track the package as well.
-
They will either add it for you or issue an RFE. Not a big deal.

I left that part blank, because I wasn't sure what number that was. If the A# is on the NOA2, then they have a copy of that. It was signed for in Chicagon on 2/21/2007 and they havent cashed the check yet nor did I receive the Notice of Approval yet. What is taking so long?I've read several posts on here about the A#, some people said it was on the Visa and some say it is on the NOA2.

My first marraige ended in 2003.
My X wife got an emergency protective order against me and when we appeared before the judge, the judge put the order in effect for 1 year, No contact or communication for 1 year.
There was no physical or verbal abuse.
Do I need to report this on my petition? I was never arrested nor did I pay a fine.
Any help would be appreciated.
The problem is this, why would the judge have given the protective order for one year if your ex did not have a valid case.
I think the courts give a one week temporary protection order until you go to trial. IMBRA I believe was set up to prevent abuse. You need to double check this information.

Thank you.
I'll try it. What is the worse that can happen??? RFE!!!!!!!
I also used the 864ez, but in the directions it said to use all CAPITALS, so I had to redo it a second time.

No, I went to Utiveros on Shady Grove Court. Can't remember the exact address. Do a search at USCIS.GOV site.

Okay, I've read the posts on here and some people have just mailed in their ds-2035 form from overseas and some have gotten the i-693a from the civil surgeons. Can someone tell me a civil surgeon in Maryland Near Washington DC that just transfers the information and doesnt insist you to get a full medical examination.
OK...I am totally confused now. My finacee did her medical back in Nov 06....what proof will she have to show to the civil surgeon here that she did the medical already for her K1 visa.
I live in the Palm Beach area in Florida and so far all Drs are telling me that they will have to do the entire medical from scratch. Please advise.
