  1. Hi. My wife has her interview next week and we are preparing all of the documents requested, which isn't much. One thing that I'm wondering about is the request to bring originals of any copied documents submitted with the n400 application. Her n400 was submitted online so supporting documentation was uploaded digitally. And all of the documents, except for my passport and our marriage certificate were digital documents. For example, as proof that we are still in our marriage, one of the supporting documents I submitted were bank statements. Since we don't get statements in the mail but rather download them online, I downloaded the file on Chase's website and uploaded it. This was the case for our other documents (lease, car insurance, tax returns, etc.). Should I nonetheless print these out and then bring them to the interview or is it unnecessary because they already have it and there is no "original" of a digital document?

Also, if I should bring print-outs, should I bring up-to-date information? For example, should I bring bank statements that were recent instead of 1.5+ year old ones I initially submitted?

Obviously, I will be bringing the originals of the only 2 documents which were uploaded as copies: My passport and our marriage certificate. But these are also explicitly requested in the interview letter.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

    1. Hi All. My fiance received conditional permanent residency through a K-1 visa on March 7, 2017. Thus, the green card expires on March 7, 2019.
    2. Naturally, we filed to remove conditions on her residency (i-751) and received an 18 month extension letter, thus extending her green card's expiration to September 7, 2020.
    3. At the 3 year mark, we also filed her n-400. A while later, we received an NOA that says "We have completed a preliminary review of the application or petition ("your case") listed above. As a part of standard processing, we transferred your case to the USCIS office listed below that has jurisdiction over your case. [etc.]" When we check the case status online, this message is also presented to us: Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction
On January 30, 2020, we transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number [redacted], to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. [etc.] Thirdly, when logging in to my fiance's USCIS account online, it says for the i751 application: "We received your case [etc.]" but a wait time is not provided. There is barely any information.
      • I assume this means that the i751 will be processing along with the n400, as I've read this to be the case throughout this forum. Is this the standard language that you all receive if that's in fact what happens?
        • If that's true, I've also read about some users where their n400 appointments are being cancelled because the i751 has not been processed. How can that be the case if the i751 and n400 are processed together by the same office? Not sure if this detail is relevant but we filed the n400 after her biometrics for i751 was completed. That was the last milestone before the n400 was filed.
      • However, when we check on her online USCIS account, it says that the n400 is estimated to be completed by November 2020, which means that my fiance will be out of status from September 2020 through November 2020. Any advice here? Do I have to request another extension somewhere? My fear is the effect this has on her n400 interview or that she won't be able to work during this 2-3 month period (She currently has a job).
        • Can she travel during this 2-3 month period when she is out of status? She is a Canadian citizen if it makes any difference.

Any input/help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

  2. Hi. My wife is currently a conditional permanent resident (2 year). The green card expires on March 3, 2019 and we filed form i-751 (Request to remove conditions on permanent residence) on January 2, 2019.

It's been over a month and although the case information shows up online through her account and she received a text message on January 14 with her case number, we still haven't received the NOA letter.

The problem is that we're scheduled to travel overseas on March 12.

I already submitted the form on this page: X but upon submission, the form said I'll receive a response by March 4, which is cutting it too close. I even called USCIS requesting an Infopass appointment at the Hartford, CT location but they just collected some information from me and said that I'll be contacted within 48-72 hours.

Anyway, I need to make some progress on this so I checked a number of USCIS locations in the tri-state area looking for available appointments. No one had availability except for the location in Providence, RI. We're now scheduled to be there on March 26, 2019.

    Ny question is:

Will I have any issues going in to the Providence branch with my wife to request the i-551 stamp? I've read on numerous other threads of people being turned away because either their GC hasn't expired yet or the location "doesn't service their area."

And anything else anyone would recommend I do? Any help, input, and advice would be appreciated. Thank you

  3. Hi. My wife is a conditional permanent resident and filed i-751 with the g-1145 form. She received the text message notification within a week of mailing out the petition to the AZ service center. However, it’s been over 2 months and we haven’t received the NoA in the mail. Does the NoA get mailed when we receive the SMS notification or is it totally independent of the the NoA that gets mailed out? Wondering if it got lost in the mail.

  4. Hi. So I've been calling the NVC awaiting NOA 2 for quite some time. Today, I called and they said that our application was sent to MTL 2 days ago.

Great! They also gave me a case number and an invoice number.

So now we are waiting on Packet 3 but how does the beneficiary expect to receive it? Is it through post or email? And when can we expect to receive it?

I also read through a search that we can download Packet 3 online and email the contents of it to the consulate in MTL, which obviously would be preferrable. But where do I download the form?

    Thanks!
