Hi guys, please help me if anyone has had a similar experience. We received our AOS interview appointment letter and they want us to bring birth certificate of the children in our marriage including those who do not live with us. My husband has a 26 yr old daughter who live on her own in a different state, should we take her to mail us her birth certificate so we can take it to the interview or does that requirement only apply to minor kids?

Hi guys, so we have our AOS interview scheduled on july 10th, among the list of things we were asked to bring to the interview is birth certificates of all the children in our marriage including those who do not live with us.My question is ,my husband has an adult daughter (26y/o) who live in a different state must we ask her to send us her birth certificate so we can take it to the interview since my husband doesn't have it?my husband is claiming that requirement is for minor kids not grown children. Please advise.
Second question: we submitted my unexpired medical when we were filing for AOS,my medical examination expired in February of this year, should l do another medical examination to take to the interview even though in the interview appointment letter it was stated l should submit sealed medical examination unless l submitted medical examination when l was filing for AOS?
Thanks in advance.

I didn’t send proof of anything, I thought I only needed to show that I was out of processing times and that I already made 2 service requests.
btw I still haven’t heard from the ombudsman, and I inquired like six weeks ago.
I made a similar inquiry but made sure to attach proof to show that the delay is affecting our lives.l emailed them

I contacted the Ombudsman office five weeks ago, and a month ago they said the inquired my case with USCIS. Since then I haven't heard anything from them. Five weeks.
I contacted ombudsman and sent evidence of financial hardship (unpaid bill)l also have uncleared student loan back in my home country..so l sent evidence of that too.did you send anything to support your request to have your case looked into?

Just an update guys,my interview was scheduled a day after my ead was approved.am so happy. My ead will be here tomorrow.

I'm in tears right now, finally my EAD has been approved after 212 days without rfie, we are adjusting status from K1. My case has also changed from "we received you case" to we are "ready to schedule an interview ".my receipt date is nov 7 pd Oct 31st 2017 and my service center is NBC.l contacted the office of ombudsman to help look into my case on 7th of May 2018 they replied on 15th may that they have inquired why my case has taken too long and they would get back to me,since then l haven't heard from them.So l think it helps to contact ombudsman's office. I had raised close to 6 service requests and 1 requests to expendit ead unfortunately uscis sent me a mail saying that my case is under review and l will here from them shortly, this was back in March. I hope l get my interview appointment date soon.

Yes. My PD is November 6. I have not heard anything at all. I went to an infopass appointment on Wednesday and spoke to an officer. He said my case was assigned to someone and they had been working on my case since February 25. Not sure why it takes THAT long to work on a case, but he said give it like three more weeks. But at this point I do now expect anything, even within these three weeks. I have two unanswered case inquiries too.
Omg.we are sailing in the same boat.l requested to have my case expendited they sent me a mail saying that my case is being reviewed and l will hear from them shortly..Am still yet to hear anything, today is my 164 day of waiting with no rfie.l did my bio 1st Dec am very frustrated because this is my 6th month of waiting

Am a November filler k1 AOS and my PD is Nov 3rd I'm yet to get my EAD or GC my case is at NBC and l can see they are now processing November 14th. I have called like 4 times(l call once per month) ,raised so many SR and even at one time spoke to tier 2 officer But nothing seem to be working. Am frustrated to say the least. Are there any other early November fillers who haven't received their was or gc interview date?

Yes I hope so too. It's just that it's being with NBC that worries me the most. Also, their processing update is stuck on "NBC PROCESSING TIMES AS OF NOVEMBER 30, 2017" Why won't they release the processing time as of Feb 2018?
"As of November 30,2017"where did you get that processing?the one on USCIS site shows they are still stuck at September 1st,2017.l know you are as frustrated as l am,am actually depressed 😣l do not interact alot this days because l have alot going on in my mind,l tend to spend my time sleeping so l can escape from this waiting reality. Sometimes l wish l came on CR1 visa.Anyways, let us hang in there hope we hear from them before the end of february.

Is NBC really having delays in approving AP/EAD combos?
Any other November NBC filers who have received their EADs by now?

Then maybe NBC is backlogged. I have a friend who we applied on the same day and she already received ead and greencard interview date. Though her case is in a different service centre.allow me to follow your timeline.

I'm so frustrated and depressed.l see some people who filed after me getting approved and l cant understand how that is possible if indeed uscis process cases based on first come first served basis..some of the people getting EAD are in service centre.I hate sitting iddle because l was used to working and being busy l feel so unproductive.someone please tell me what else l can do to expedite my case or how long l have to wait.l wish l came on cr1 visa.

I see that a lot of people have gotten an update on their status. My last update is still reflecting December 6th. It can be pretty frustrating that I have nothing. As you might notice with my timeline, it took 15 days from mailing the documents to get a notice date. Is it normal to not have an update for this long? I'm assuming that my case will change from updated on December 6th to approved, eventually. No RFIE as of today and I don't expect to get one, but you never know.
You are just like me,and l can't tell you how frustrating it is.am 6 days away from 90days of waiting since they received my case, they have not even updated that l did bio the last update was case was received.according to VJ l should have received my EAD yesterday anyways am thinking of calling them

The petitioner had frontloaded our petition so all the paperwork couldn't fit in one envelop the consulate had to put it in two seperate envelopes for POE/CBP.so they were basically our immigration paper work

Hi,
We went through this process this past year and none of the questions you mentioned (Kris and me) were asked to us. I'm sorry if you had to go through this
My husband the step father and U.S. citizen petitioned for my GC two years ago. My child decided to stay with his grand parents for another year, so we initiated his process last year. We had his interview a couple of weeks ago and they only asked questions about our relationship, when my husband and I got married, if the child had been in the U.S. There was no mention of his biological father, or permission, or me abandoning him o sending child support. I was asked the same questions I was asked during my (mom's) interview.
Myfuture, you would need to initiate the process for your stepchildren just like you did for your husband. If your husband and you are already married and the children are under 21, they would fall under IR-2 category. I would suggest you begin the process sooner than later, as wait times for approvals and interview dates are becoming longer and longer.
Best of luck!
How long did the whole process take you to bring the kids from filing to visa appointment?

Wow, how wicked can a person be!! Using someone to get to the US for their own selfish reasons? Why didn't he/she start what they knew they couldn't finish!!? If someone knows that they do not plan to get married or stay married to their petitioner, please save the petitioner his/her time, money and heart aches. They should have applied for a different visa type e.g HB1 or went to the US as an entrepreneur. According to my understanding, you cannot get permanent residence in such a case, unless divorce was led by physical or emotional abuse, domestic violence or when a petitioner neglects a beneficiary, if the petitioner is deceased or psycho or went to jail.

We didnt get a new medical.btw the io did not ask us to produce any documents she said she had everything that she needed on file.she asked my husband to give her a short history of how we met until we got married. How many times he visited me,my mothers name, husband job and his date of birth, where and when we got married, whether it was a small or big wedding, why we didnt have a big wedding or any family member or friends present at the wedding. She asked me,where l work, our house address, the date l arrived in US,why l do not have a state ID or DL that's all then we offered to give her our joint bank statements, Bills medical insurance and a few new photos then she said she will mail the decision. It took her weeks to send the approval notice and then gc
