So is it based on date of marriage or date of green card date?

I got married 4/22/2006

I got my green card 3/12/2008

I received my 10 year green card in March of 2010. When can I apply for my citizenship? How do I know I am eligible to apply for citizenship?

does anyone else have problems accessing the uscis.gov page or is it just me? i`ve tried like 3 times in the past 4 hours and i can`t get to it.

Thought I'd update. I received an email today that my card production has been ordered. It's taking a while to sink in, gosh I'm glad this step (saga) is over.

My AOS took two years. Do you know why they took so long?

It was a pretty quiet week for Jan filers....based on the bio dates of many, next week should be more eventful...we can only hope.

We can see up to 5 approvals by the end of the week.

I had my infopass today. The infopass app. was at 3:15. 3:20 I was out with passport stamped. They did not ask for photos. Since it was last minute I couldn't take passport pictures anyway. Saved some money.

I have a infopass appointment tomorrow. I saw this on the USCIS website:

Remember to bring the following items, to the office, for your appointment:

-Form I-797, ''Approval Notice'' from the Service Center or an approval letter to process a Form I-551 card

-2 new passport style photos and a valid passport

-If you do not have a valid passport, bring 3 passport-style photos with you.

thanks for the quick response. Here is what happened when we went to DMV this morning. They refused to renew the Drivers License as there was no Form I-797-C. So I just set up an infopass appointment for this coming tuesday. I will let you know how that goes. Ironically, there was another couple (also from India) going through the same circumstances. They got their GC extention right away but their biometrics was late, so their GC had expired. But since they had the extension letter they got their License renewed.

BOTTOM LINE: Its better to have a letter giving 1 year extension (I-797C) than having a biometrics appointment letter.

If no I-797C go to infopass and set up a Passport Stamp thing.

infopass will do it. I have one on Thursday. I didn't get my NOA1 either. Don't call USCIS, waste of time. My daughter can give you better answers than USCIS.

This will make you feel a little better. We filed in July and we are still waiting. I called USCIS today and made them aware that we are over 6 months since filing. The woman I talked with took down all the info and will submit Referrals to CSC. One for my wife and one for the boy. She had no clue what was going on, but the Referrals will draw the attention of CSC. Anway, hang in there. There is light at the end of the tunnel....

Calling USCIS is a waste of time. I get more info from VisaJourney than USCIS.

When I was on AOS I had no touches till I was approved. For two years I had no touches. So many things were happening with my case but they never updated online. It is frustrating. It is as if my name is too long and they cannot update my case online.

“There were two members of VJ who missed their deadline dates while I was going through the ROC process as well. They included a letter to USCIS apologizing for the delay and requesting consideration. Both of them were accepted and eventually approved for Removal of Conditions. In the USCIS Field Manual there is a section that discusses late filings for ROC. It basically states that it is up to the adjudicator's discretion whether they will accept a late filing or not, but generally they allow a 60 day 'grace' period in which to receive late filings, so I will just say get the application in ASAP, make sure you apologize for the late filing and ask them to look with favour upon your request to consider your application even though it is a week late. Good luck

(F ) Termination of Status for Failure to File . Failure to properly file Form I-751 within the 90-day period immediately preceding the second anniversary of the date on which the alien obtained lawful permanent residence on a conditional basis shall result in the automatic termination of the alien's permanent residence status and the initiation of proceedings to remove the alien from the U.S. Form I-751 may be filed after the expiration of the 90-day period only if the alien establishes to the satisfaction of the director, in writing, that there was good cause for the failure to file within the required time period.

3. (D) Terminations . These cases are denied for failure to file. They are put in a 60 day call-up category to give the petitioner and spouse a last chance to file the Form I-751. If they have not filed after the 60 day call-up time frame has expired, the case is routed to the district office for a Notice to Appear to be issued.

Your case seems so complicated, i don't even know what to tell you. I will pray for you.

You can't get the stamp if your passport is expired. I only know this based on cases which I overheard while we were waiting for a stamp in my husband's passport for the same reasons. We did it before the biometrics appointment, but I suppose it depends on what facility you are going to.

Gwen666, How did you get your passport stamped. Did you make an infopass appointment? Or did you ask for a stamp before your biometrics without an appointment?

hi, just ..of course , nervous a lil, how long does it take to hear if green card yes, or no? when i check online, and ive already called 1-800 no, noyhings been updated, its been about a week, and when i escaladed my call to a supervisor, they said nothings been updated since the last statement last month of a n interview scheduled, and we had our interview last week,, any advice?? thanks everyone!! :whistle:

You can look at my time line. One week is nothing. I waited years. It was a long journey. I hope you will here from them soon. I don't expect anybody do go through what we went through.

Gwen666, did your letter say your conditional residence status was extended for one year? It seems like we won't be getting a NOA either.

No NOA1 yet. CSC received our packet on the 14th, and cashed our check on the 19th.

What is the A# and the Alien Registration Number? Are they the same thing?

Yes, these are two terms for the same thing. The A# is a case number that USCIS assigns to certain people, and then

(usually, for exceptions see below) stays with you for the rest of your life, much like a Social Security Number. Most

people get their A# when they apply for adjustment of status. It is also assigned if you apply for an employment

authorization document (such as an F-1 OPT), a V visa, find yourself in deportation proceedings, and in a number of

other situations.

Many USCIS forms ask for the A#. If you do not have one yet, simply write "None".

There actually are four separate types of A#. You can tell them apart by the number of digits and the first digit. The first

kind is an eight-digit A#. These are manually assigned at local offices. If you have one of these numbers, simply treated it

as if it was "0" plus the number. Nine-digit A#'s that start with the digit 1 are used for employment authorization cards,

usually related to students. Nine-digit A#'s that start with the digit 3 are used for fingerprint tracking of V visa applicants.

All other nine-digit A#'s (these actually always start with a 0) are permanent A#'s and remain permanently with you for

life.

Therefore, the rule is: if you are asked for an A# and have one, always give this A#, regardless of whether it starts with a

0, 1 or 3. If you have both a 0-A# and a 1-A# or a 3-A#, then use the one that starts with a 0.
