  1. I am starting this topic for the February 2011 applicants. I sent my application on February the 1st.

    Hey guys,

I sent my N-400 application on 2/11, received NOA on 2/17.

Next step is taking fingerprints, then the interview, I believe...

When do I actually start studying for the citizenship and when do I take test?

    Thanks, VJ peps

  2. yes sir, you'll be receiving your ASC appoinment soon for biometrics. You can check the 'immigration timelines'so you will have idea how long it will take for you to receive your 10-year GC.NOA1 is good for 1 year so you can still continue to work and travel and if your application is still pending after your extension letter expires you can make info pass appointment.Good luck!

Thanks. what would we all do w/out ach other on visajourney.com....

  3. Hey guys,

got my I-797C NOA this morning. I assume my alien card is extensed for one after the expiration of my GC. That is, if my GC expires say, June 5th, this extension is valid til June 5th of 2010, correct?

So now what? Do I wait to be scheduled for biometricts appt?

Meanwhile, can they request additional RFE's or the case documentation has been reviewed by now?

How long does it take, on average from filling to receiving 'cleaned' GC?

    Thanks :blush::unsure::wacko:

  4. Guys,

I want to copy the actual health insurance card as a proof of bona fide marriage (bla bla) thing, and I'm just looking at it but there's only my husband's name on it, since he's a holder (and my name (dependent) is not shown on the actual card). But, we printed out the proof I'm his dependent from his online insurance account, even though the actual card doesn't show it ( I don't know why). Is that gonna work?

    Thank you so much

  6. Hi Alex&Ana,

In answer to your post, and to give you more ideas, this is a list what I submitted as additional "joint evidence" for my I-751 application (Removal of Conditions) that I filed for last year in August:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=118868&hl=

What's important here, is to show the joint names and joint addresses, with "joint evidence" spanning the entire timeline of the 2 years since you got your conditional green card and of that time in your marriage. For bills, statements, and other legal documents, try to include as many as you can that are in both joint names and joint adresses, and highlight this joint fact accordingly. If there are some documents in separate names, send them both in as well, and highlight the address and names, and if need be, explain why these documents are not in both joint names and/or both joint addresses. For original documents (such as affidavits), these will have to be original copies and not photocopies. Do not alter and/or highlight original and/or notarized documents, as that can be seen unfavourably as tampering with evidence.

And yes, the more "joint evidence" that you have, the better for your I-751 case!!!

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey too.

Geeze, lots of work to do...

    Thanks though.

O, and by the way, my 2nd anniversary is in June of 2009 but sure I can apply for a couple of months earlier wright?

    Hi guys,

I'm just about to start working on my removing conditions and I need the complete general list of requirements.

I've been reading some topics related to required documents and it seems to me the more evidence you have the better for you.

Like, would it be enoguh at least some joint statement/account or you have to have a bunch of everything?

Didn't miss that anxiety at all...

    Thanks everybody

  8. Hey guys!

My husband is about to file for bankruptcy. I have a status of conditonal permanent resident and my status expires on June 2009,

so I'll start working on the papers for the condition status to be removed.

In general, does anyone know if his bankruptcy can affect my US status, by any means?

    I appreciate any help.

ps. VJ is probably the best invention ever for all of us good people giving the respect to the legislation.

  9. Hello to all of you!

We're working on papers for AOS and I have a question concerning about Med Exam forms...I brought with me my overseas medical examination (form DS-2053 called),wich I needed for my K1 interview in Croatia 3 months ago...now while applying for AOS,can I just submit a copy of DS-2053 form of med exam or I do need to fill all new form I-693?Confused about it.

    Another question.

Some of the samples of cover letters applicants I found sent 4 passport style photos (2 for EAD and extra 2 for AOS,I guess).

In AOS instructions only 2 photos are required.

    Can anybody answer?

Thanks so much...I would already goin' crazy if there is no VJ.

  10. Ok,let's make one thing straight.

l'm confused about where to send AOS package.

    I've filled the following forms:G-325 A,Bio information

    I-765, Employment Authorization

    I-485,Application for Permanent Resident

    I-864, Affidavit of Support,

    and I-131 I didn't filled, don't need.

Now if I'm wright, all of this forms with a bunch of other copies (copy of passport, marriage certificate, birth c.,etc...)I am

    S E N D I N G T O G E T H E R as an AOS package to...W H E R E? Chicago,IL or Local office (Cleveland,OH in my case)?

Or!!I'm wrong and I have to send Employment Authorization form separately from AOS package?

    Have no clue.

Please let explain anyone who has been gone thru this all.

I'm tired of this nonimmigrant/immigrant paperwork...

    Thanks.

  12. Varies, my wife's friend who went thru Denver got hers in 4 months, and ours going thru Chicago took much longer (see signature). In both cases, there were no RFE's or snags delaying the AOS interview, just the sheer volume and backlog created the delays.

    thanks

  13. File your EAD (I765) at the same time as your AOS(I485). Most posters on VJ mail the paper petitions in one envelope. You can expect to wait around 90 days from the time of the EAD receipt date (NOA1) to receive the actual EAD approval and card.

Andreas, the EAD your wife received at POE is only good for 90 days. If you would like for her to continue working, you need to file form I765 as well.

    thanks a lot for information!

  14. I'm[not sure. My fiance made her entry at the JFK airport in New Yokr and she recieved her employment authorization. Now what I am doing the AOS to finish up this process. I wish you good luck Alex and ANA

    thanks for fast response ANDRES_MARINEL...

Isn't that EAD your fiancee received a temporary one?

We've been reading about and it says only JFK gaves EAD by Point of Entry...

    THanks

    Hello!

I was wondering how long does it take to receive Employment Authorization Document (EAD)?

What is the best way to apply for it-conventional or via e-mail?

I'm planing to apply at the same time as AOS...

    Thanks for any information.

  15. If we apply for a tourist visa at the same time as the fiance visa, if it looks suspicous or if they will deny either or both for this reason??

I would love to know from someone who does know about this for sure.

I appreciate your time and effort.

This site has been so so so helpful to me. I really had no idea what I was doing, and as you can see, I still don't, so if you can help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much

Personally,I wouldn't recommend you to apply for both tourist or fiance visa.It is 100% sure they gonna ask you what is the purpose of two visa types applying,no doubt about it (trust me,even my fiance's grandma was suspicious to them when she was on interview!).

And once they catch you,it's all over which I don't think you want it.

Best way is to apply for one of.

    Good luck.

  18. Hey guys...

I'm a little bit confused right now about this timelines on my profile.

How confident and official is that information about NOA2 approval?

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as November 1, 2006*. "

Few days ago it was November 8,day after November 9...

    And btw,who gives that informations?

...Cause if my timeline's true,I'm happy.

    If not,too bad too sad

Someone who knows the answer, please reply me.

    thanks
