Well it has been a while since I've been on visajourney, daily looking for tid bits of info to help with this IMBRA disaster. Since then, my fiancee and I have been reunited. She got the visa last Friday. We essentially hassled them every step of the way until it was a done deal.

Question for the approved cases - have you received the NVC letter like with the first approval?

And I hope to see many, many, many approvals this week.
My case was received by the NVC from USCIS on 8/7 and to date I have not received anything in the mail from NVC. However, today the consulate confirmed they received the case from NVC. So, it was indeed received by NVC and forwarded on the same day. However note that just because it may say in NVC's records that it was forwarded on for example Monday... they group the petitions and may wait until later in the week to actually send them (via DHL) all on to the respective consulates.

Mew - my petition was sent to the argentinian consulate also on the 7th. Have you gotten any news from the consulate in Brazil? I'm trying to figure how to push them...
I called them yesterday and they said it wasn't there yet. I guess I'll call again tomorrow or the day after that.
What about you? Has the consulate told you they got it?
I haven't been able to get a response from the consulate since it was sent on 8/7. I sent an email on Friday and on Monday - but I haven't heard anything. They won't respond via the telephone. My fiancee is going to go there Thursday morning. BUT THEY HAVE TO HAVE IT BY NOW, NO? ? ? ? ?

I called the consulate to check on my petition and it's not there yet? So I called NVC again and it was sent on August 7th (I called to make sure I didn't misunderstand what the lady told me). A whole week and it's not reached Rio?

When I was first approved, back in April, it took the Consulate 7 days to get the petition.
It will be there this week.
Yeah, I know... All of a sudden I want things to happen fast as they had the first time... I'll check again tomorrow.

I am shaking, crying, and in total shock. I woke at 2:00am, saw email alerts, clicked it out of habit, and we ARE APPROVED!!!!!!!

I was approved on 8-02-06, and also touched on 8-06-06.
FYI: Called the NVC today and they said they forwarded the case onto the "post" (consulate) on 8/7 - the same day they received it from USCIS. I know they use DHL and figure it's got to arrive to the consulate by this week.

Mew - that's great - your petition was already received by the NVC and forwarded??? that's awesome!! I knew there was something wrong w/ ours that it took over THREE weeks for NVC to get it. I've noticed the pattern being that NVC usually only has the petition at most for 2-3 days before sending it off to the consulates. And someone at the NVC told me they use DHS which I'm figuring would be a max of 4-5 days until arrival at the consulate.

My fiance just heard back from his congressman's office. Our case was sent back through NVC. Got there on Saturday and mailed to Montreal yesterday... I'll phone Montreal in a few days to check if they've got it yet or not.
I read somewhere that it's possible to track the petitions thru DHL as they'res sent from NVC to the respective consulates. Anybody know how?

I'd have to ask my fiance whether he's gotten anything in the mail. He hasn't mentioned it, so I'm guessing not yet. We did get the reapproval notice by e-mail.
It says:
"On July 25, 2006, we mailed a notice reaffirming the approval of this case, and returned the case to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State.
If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center."
What does yours say?
online -- nothing changed from 6/12 - that being that the RFE was received and that the processing time would be less than the maximum stated there. And that I would receive a written decision on this matter.
Then, via mail - the approval is dated 6/13 and says, " the above petition is approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the DOS NVC"

I guess we should trust what the written notice says though. I mean, it's a document. Like I said, I'm very much enclined to believe that NVC will handle the transfer to the consulate.

they also told me at NVC that it's possible that USCIS sent it directly to the consulate since NVC did everything they needed to w/ the petition
Just learned this morning that NVC received our case from USCIS on 8/7 - FYI: our case was re-approved by USCIS 7/13, therefore it took over 3 weeks to arrive to NVC from USCIS.

I hope this will give you all some hope. Our case was reapproved, and they scheduled my fiancee for her interview on Agust 14th. I am not sure why we got our interview date so quickly, I am just happy that we got it. I really hope that this will give us all hope and I hope that I hear the same news from many of you.
I sorry I haven't posted this earlier, just been too busy getting my fiancee prepared for the big day.

Mew - any developments on the issue of approved petitions being fowarded to NVC's or directly to consulates? My approval letter says the petition will be forwarded to the NVC and that I should hear something w/in 2-4 weeks. This is the 4th week (the petition was approved 7/13)

Sorry - the service center was originally CSC and still is; and my fiancee is from Argentina
I just noticed that I was on the B-List previously. Also - has nobody's case been approved by USCIS for the second time and been forwarded to NVC? ? ? this is my concern because you'll notice I got the second approval on 7/13 and have been trying to track it. To date, NVC has not received it.

I still fear they will wait to gather every petition from each country to mail them back together. That would be why they started processing the cases in a country order.
Just my opinion.
But we are in a special category, and they did receive the cases all together. If they are sending them back with no NVC and no reason to assign a case number, I don´t see why they wouldn´t wait.
Would it be because they want to avoid us to wait?

I don't think they've mailed them already simply because I got the second approval on July 13th - why would it take 3 weeks to get to the consulate? I just don't get it. FYI - my fiancee had gotten as far as having the interview sheduled w/ the consulate before the case was revoked due to IMBRA. My concern was how long the medical and criminal backgrounds were/are valid for since at this point months will have passed before the interview is sheduled again. The consulate (Buenos Aires, Argentina) told me one year for both.

I was also on the phone w/ a rep from USCIS - a helpful one who would put me on hold to dig a bit deeper as to where the case was since it had been approved July 13. She came back on the phone and said that someone there (very experienced) had confirmed that the cases are being sent back directly to the consulates. My only question is - WHY SO LONG? It has been 3 weeks and the consulate confirmed w/ me on Tuesday that they have not recieved the petition. Also what concerns me is - my fiancee had all the package 4 info completed back in May (i.e. medical check up and criminal background check)- - is it still valid?
The medical, as far as I know, is valid for a year, unless your fiance has some kind of disease that needed treatment. As for the I134, the consulate in Brazil told me they're valid for a year. You may want to check with the consulate where your petition will be sent. Criminal records/certificates validity/"expiracy" dates vary in different countries. I had to ask for another one and if the interview is not scheduled until October, I'll have to ask for yet another.
Did they tell you how long they expect it to take till they forward your case? I don't think there's anything else left for them to do on our cases. They've run security checks the first time we were approved.
No, they didn't tell me how long - just the standard, "30-90 days" response. Next Thursday (8/10) will be 30 days. I have no clue as to what they're waiting for. But it wouldn't surprise me if other cases were forwarded on -- that's why I've posted here. There's no rhyme or reason to the way individual cases are handled.

last i heard in vj was that petitions wound NOT be sent directly to consulates. why would they change procedure anyway?
According to the person who abcdas talked to, because NVC had already done what they needed to do the first time petitions were sent there (security checks, assigning a case number).

As much as I would love for that to be the case YnaYe........it's not likely......I still am waiting for my RFE!!!!
But baby......let me tell you, when I saw how much reaction I recieved from them in that short amount of time.......I am just warming up now>>>>>>No way I'm gonna wait for 30 days for the RFE. I will give them 7 days then I act again and again........then I'll go for the NOA2.........then the NVC.........then to Moscow...
It's called FAITH and CONFIDENCE.....and all of a sudden, I feel juiced up tonight!!!

There have been no new additions to the CSC MARCH Chart today. So the chart with the 30 July date will remain as the most current chart.
I will monitor any new members to vj and I will add any member from another service center as they make themselves known to me....

my concern is that the the approval letter state that the petition would be sent to NVC. it's nearly 3 weeks, and nvc has received nothing. Could this possibly be being handled in bulk? ? ?

yeah... actually - NVC suggested i call the consulate and gave me the number. not that that means anything in particular. I called the consulate and they said they don't respond to inquiries via telephone. so i emailed them today with the approval letter as an attachment - asking them to see whether they had received the case.

I'd have to ask my fiance whether he's gotten anything in the mail. He hasn't mentioned it, so I'm guessing not yet. We did get the reapproval notice by e-mail.
It says:
"On July 25, 2006, we mailed a notice reaffirming the approval of this case, and returned the case to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State.
If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center."
What does yours say?
online -- nothing changed from 6/12 - that being that the RFE was received and that the processing time would be less than the maximum stated there. And that I would receive a written decision on this matter.
Then, via mail - the approval is dated 6/13 and says, " the above petition is approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the DOS NVC"

I guess we should trust what the written notice says though. I mean, it's a document. Like I said, I'm very much enclined to believe that NVC will handle the transfer to the consulate.

after all the preparation and attention to details, and the over-supply of info for the interview...not to mention the anxiety, the interviewer comes in, peruses the case briefly and asks, "but what happened?"... looks at pictures of us ("aaaawwww"), and asks my fiancee, 1) where I was born; 2) what i do professionally; and 3) when we're getting married, and approved us. The whole thing took less than 5 minutes.
