  1. so i received a checklist for my 2016 federal tax returns but they are to be brought to the interview.  im curious as to when the interview will be scheduled and how much notice we will receive as we have jobs and children.

my status on CEAC says "At NVC" but I updated the spreadsheet with a case complete for June 28th.  do i have a case complete even though i have received this checklist to bring this document to Barbados?

im excited but they didnt give much information on the email except to wait for your appointment.

Here is a thread of others talking about it.

Correction to my last comment. You must show on this affidavit that you have enough income and/or assets to maintain the intending immigrant(s) and the rest of your household at 125 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

    Now in answering your questions:

"will i be required to resubmit my financials and start the 11 week wait again or will i just be declined OR both?"

If the officer requires a co-sponsor or any additional paperwork, that paperwork will be sent directly to your embassy.. I've read somewhere on one of these forum threads that the embassy officer requested a co-sponsor, within a week of sending in their co-sponsor's info, they got their visa.  So no, you don't have that 11 weeks review time with the NVC because you're no longer dealing with the NVC, you're working directly with your embassy.

Regarding your call to the NVC.. I would call for peace of mind, explain what happened, and see what questions they may ask you. If possible ask them about part 6 of your i-864.

Here are the instructions on the i-864.

    gotcha.  this helps.  thanks.

    @cake68

If sponsoring your spouse, they require your assets to be more than 3x's over the poverty line. If not your spouse, it's 5x over the poverty line.   It's my understanding that the NVC will automatically suggest in a letter to have a co-sponsor ready for your interview. But it's ultimately up to the embassy (interviewer) to decide if one is needed or not.. It's my understanding that NVC doesn't verify if you have enough assets, they just verify that they're included in your file..  I imagine you would get a checklist if you didn't include your assets.

If I were you, I would verify with the NVC by contacting them on Monday.

    thanks for the speedy reply.

so if i understand you correctly.  if my assets meet the requirement (3x above poverty line) the NVC could still suggest a co-sponsor at interview?  and the officer will make final decision regarding a co-sponsor.  once or IF that decision is made by the officer will i be required to resubmit my financials and start the 11 week wait again or will i just be declined OR both?

    i hope that made sense.

finally i am calling the NVC to verify whether or not they review or simply verify receipt of assets when income is not us-based?

A blood test should show the vaccines you have (or don't have) in your system.. contact your medical exam office and confirm what is needed and the process.

You may have had a vaccine in the past but need it again.. the blood work would see that..

i was told by another filer who has completed their case that the vaccinations must be proven with a vaccination or you will need to be vaccinated again.  the only one where a blood test will suffice is the MMR.  the medical doctors assigned by the embassy are costly.  vaccinations are an additional cost outside of the mandatory medical exam which cost US$200.  food for thought.

same here.  submitted my IV payment on april 12th but no DS 261.  i called NVC yesterday and was told it takes 7 business days so continue to check the website.  sounds like they just say whatever they want; there is no protocol.

Thanks for yout reply cake68! best wishes for you in the rest of this process!!
well i contacted NCS representatives lots of times as well, but non of them let me submit an inquiry via phone because im outside the US! and thats what they say, that they have to transfer me to the "second level" to talk to an imigration officer. the only way to do that is by arranging a call back, which system doesnt supponrt extensions, thus will ever call an outside phone number. i tried talking through land phone, mobile phone, skype, even public phone too!
and this is specifically where i mean i need to provide a mailing addres (inside the US)
    https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt
Do you think i can set a friends addres there so i can make an inquiry?
by the way, were yours inquirys hellpfull? do you think that if i dont make an inquiry, my case will eventually be accepted anyway?
    thanks for your time !
    have a grate weekend!

Yes, the inquiry was helpful, receieved an email response same day and the approval 2 weeks later.  Definitely use a friends address as long as you are in constant contact.

Hello there, this is my first post in VJ, and im so glad i've found this forum!
Im also a July filler, 7/25 and our case was not approved yet!
Im not living in the US, but living in  Argentina with my wife instead.
It seems i cannot make a case inquiry by phone because im not in the US; so 1st level NCS representatives transfer me to arrange a call back to speek to an imigration officer; wich i then understood was never going to happen because the system doesnt call back to phone numbers outside the US!
the only two ways left to submit an inquiry are Online, and both of them require me to give either a US mailing addres or a phone number.
May i use a mailing addres of a friend of mine when filling the e-Request?
any other way you think i can make something to know why is this taking so long? any advice?
Thanks so much, i would really appreciate any hope and help!

i was a July filer as well, recently approved in March.  i am also a USC and i live abroad.  i have contacted USCIS and the NVC via phone numerous times.  i have submitted an inquiry via phone through a USCIS representative.  are you using a mobile phone?  when i submitted my inquiry they only required an email address.

You are only able to pay one at a time.  Once the agent form is complete in some cases it may take a day or two.  You will also be able to only pay one fee at a time.  Pay the AOS after its recieved with will say processing,  then paid.  You will then be able to complete the IV and then finally the DS260 visa application. Make sure you complete asap because your scan date is determine on the last item recieved.

Got it.  Thank you so much.

Wow good luck i put in a service request also on feb2 and havent heard anything yet i even emailed nsc and nothing yet?

well the email was sent minutes after a call to customer service where i was told the system was down and they would give me a call back.  im fairly certain the need to close that service ticket is what prompted the auto-generated email response.

you know what is super perplexing...i front loaded my petition with the financial sponsorship forms.  yet my petition still required further review.  oh to be a fly on the wall in one of the processing centers. where the top secret immigration protocols and codes for applicants are out in the open.

  11. recently received a email from USCIS on March 3rd after a service request was filed on February 2nd due to outside normal processing time.(PD July 1st)

email states... "additional review needed, case with an adjudicating officer will receive a decision or notice of further action within 60 days."

question.  does this mean 60 days from Feb. 2nd or from March 3rd?  just trying to plan the rest of my year.
