I posted my question on the UK board, but didn't get any replies; other than someone asking "You are a USC living in the UK?" Well the answer to that question is yes.
For those of you in the UK with family in Morocco my question is what airline do you use and do you know if there are any bargains? The exchange rate for the USD isn't all that great so prices seem to be a bit high to me.
For Maggie, you should plan a "reunion" in London, I'm sure it would be as fun as the Seattle get togethers.
-
Yes, I am a USC working and living in the UK. There has to be UKC with Moroccan family or friends though, or at least I hoping to connect with some.
-
Hi I'm new to the UK thread, I was only on the MENA, but now I'm living in the UK and looking to connect to our MENA friends and family here. First off for those of you who travel to Casablanca what airline do you tend to use. Are there any bargains that you know of? Thanks in advance for your replies.

My husband is also from Morocco and he will not eat any foods cooked with alcohol. He'll watch you cook it, enjoy the smells, but he absolutely won't eat it. This is a personal issue with their belief don't let it come between you. There is more to life than food being cooked with alcohol.

I none of your families were involved in this accident.
Morocco: 11 killed in stampede at concert
23 mins ago
RABAT, Morocco – Morocco's official MAP news agency says 11 people have been killed and about 30 injured in a stampede at a concert in the capital, Rabat.
In a report Sunday, MAP quotes regional authorities as saying those killed included two minors. The other victims were five women and four men.
Most of the injured have been treated and released from the hospital. The report said seven people remain hospitalized.
The report said the stampede took place at Rabat's Hay Nahda stadium shortly after midnight Saturday.

I remember you also and I hope all goes well at the interview.
-
If he misses his appointment without contacting them first to reschedule he won't be able to just show up in a couple of months. He should go to the interview; if he gets the visa approved he doesn't have to use it immediately.

Congratulations. What a wonderful way to begin the New Year!!!
-
I got my Husband's visa approved Eiid Mabarak!!!!! Alhamdolilah
Congratulations!!!!
-
The K1 visa is a single entry only visa. The country of origin does not matter. You enter the United States and have 90 days to marry or be out of status.
-
You can only enter the U.S. once on the K1 for the purpose of marrying within 90 days. However you can travel where ever you want while here, and stay in each place you visit as long as you want. You can also marry where ever you want, but you only have 90 days to marry. Congratulations on the visa approval and your upcoming wedding.

COSTCO sellsit for approximately $22-25/bottle. If you don't have COSTCO, I'd try SAMS.

I thought maybe this recipe might be similar to the south african one you saw on PBS. Enjoy
Lion's Head Meatballs in Spicy Coconut Sauce
These spicy meatballs are called "Lion's Head" because of their large size. Also, lions are believed to ward off evil. You can make the meatballs a day or two ahead, store them covered in the refrigerator, and heat them in the sauce before serving. Decrease the red pepper for a milder flavor.
Ingredients
SAUCE:
1/2 cup light coconut milk
1/2 cup soy milk
2 tablespoons minced peeled fresh ginger
2 teaspoons minced hot red chile pepper
1 tablespoon chopped green onions
2 tablespoons Thai fish sauce
MEATBALLS:
1 pound ground round
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon minced peeled fresh ginger
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon minced hot red chile pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
Preparation
To prepare sauce, combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl.
To prepare meatballs, combine ground round and next 9 ingredients in a large bowl, and shape mixture into 8 meatballs. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add meatballs; cook 7 minutes, browning on all sides. Drain well.
Place sauce in a large saucepan; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add meatballs; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 8 minutes. Garnish with basil and rind.
Yield
8 servings (serving size: 1 meatball and 3 tablespoons sauce)
PBS's Cooking Academy is the bane of my existence during Ramadan, but at least I get good ideas for iftar.Unfortunately, there was a great recipe for a south african hamburger that was done in a coconut sauce, but the recipe isn't on the website

Thank you for sharing this. What a very touching portrait. As with the other brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, children, friends and even enemies I pray for peace and an end to the violence in the world.

My wife just got her passport back along with the K3 VISA and a big package. The package states that it must be opened at an US entry point. My question is, can I officially start the green card application process?? Or should/do we wait until I accompany her at and US entry location and open or hand this package to the customs???
thank you.
You cannot "open" the package. It will be taken from your wife when she enters the U.S. After her entry you will begin your next step of starting the adjustment of status (AOS) process toward her obtaining her green card, etc. Good luck with your journey.
Ok thank you. So she needs to enter first at least to start the adjustment of status / green card application.
That's correct. Your K3 application for your wife was to allow her to enter and establish domicile in the U.S., if you were going to live outside the U.S. there would have been no need to file the petition.

Your children will be US citizens at birth providing your husband goes to the embassy to register their birth abroad.

Traveling from London to Casablanca
in Middle East and North Africa
Posted
Thank you both for the info. I looked at Funjet earlier today and noticed if went from the U.S. These two airlines don't fly into Casablanca, maybe a flight into Marrakech wouldn't be bad once in while. I'll post what I come up with later.
