  1. Thanks.

@RetConnOff As far as I understand the question about the denials will pop inevitably. Is there any better way to include the explanation after that (I assume) yes/no question? Do they keep the record of the reason why visa was denied last time? I don't want to make it look worse.

Also, is what is an appropriate time to wait until the next attempt?

  2. Hi guys.
We were trying to get my mom a visa to visit me this summer ant I'm afraid we screwed up royally..

I know the drill, we did everything right. She has apartment, owns a firm, has employees, some finances, rent documents, no plans for leaving her life there, strong ties and whatnot. I planned everything for weeks, checked dozens of times, we were ready to get it easily.

What we missed is that some 20 years ago she tried to get a visa to US but it was denied. It was so long ago, the reason for getting the visa became insignificant very quickly and she completely forgot about that.. Meaning we didn't mention that in ds160, he said she's being dishonest, second denial, goodbye. DAMN.
Is there any chance we might still get a visa after that? (this time I'll be sure to include that of course :) )

We're going to try again and again, I live here now, have a baby on the way, we need her to have that visa!

Do they consider any human error at all or is it you lied, you're bad, you're denied forever?

  3. Hi guys,

We submitted our AOS paperwork and got an RFI (a couple of fields didn't print out), we sent the corrected forms yesterday and they should be in the PO Box by tomorrow. Unfortunately we have to move to a new house by the end of month (in 6 days). I know that there is a way to change both mine and my husband's (sponsor's) email online but we're concerned about them actually taking in consideration our request. Any suggestion about how/when should we change the address? Any way to make it safer?

  4. No marriage certificate is needed. In my case it even works the other way, Idaho requires an SS# to get married :)

I went to get it before we got married, brought my birth certificate, the passport, the most recent I94 and filled the ss-5. I got the receipt and they said I can use it to get married YAY.

Now we are worried about doing so because the marriage license has to have something there in the ss# field. What if I don't have it until then and get it later? What will the license say, would it cause us any problems and what can we do about it later?

  5. My fiance had his interview last week and its been approved. i checked today at the website and it said administrative processing, What does this mean?? when will it be issued?

It means that they probably print it :) In case they wouldn't tell you that it was approved it might mean that they need to do more checks but if they approved then you'll get your visa really soon)

I had the status for a half a day and by 3pm they changed it to issued (or whatever the status was, I don't remember)

  6. Anyone went to get ss#? We went a bit earlier while I wasn't in the database yet, they person said he'll verify later and will call me.

Now I'm checking the SAVE case check site and there is a case on me, with just one entry saying Case Returned to Agency (Maryland SSA). Does it mean that everything's ready, anyone knows? It appears to be the mystery of the century, I could't find any comprehensive list of steps/statuses that thing would show.

  7. Sure)

I approached the guy with the huge sealed package, passport and the declaration I filled on the plane (give that too, they stamped it) on what he smiled and asked if I'm first time immigrating (weird question :D). I rambled something about it's not my first entry but the first time like this.

He said something like oh, let's see, who's the lucky guy, then asked how did we meet and what does he do for living. Meanwhile he was looking through my packet and stamped the passport.

Then the standard picture and fingerprints, after which he asked me to a back room to complete the process. There I waited ~10 minutes until a guy processed my documents, then he gave me back my passport and the declaration (no other papers, they keep the package) and that was all )

    That was easy.
Just make sure not to look nervous and to be sure of yourself (oh well, you already went through that before and know it :) ), I was close to fail that one haha.

    And good luck)

  8. Oh, I was so tired and excited that I forgot to update) POE 10.08 New York. Already back together for 2 days after roughly 5 months.

Was worried about the border, heard that they can deny you even with perfect paperwork and visa, just because but all went fine. On top of that I went to a separate line at customs, with no one in front of me, which is crazy as the shortest line I've ever stood in on my previous visits was an hour long))

  9. Here's my story.

Applied for K1 and my fiancé got scheduled for interview on 22nd Sep.

I personally came for 4 days to accompany her to the interview. Before K1 she had applied twice for F1 with denials, last attempt being in 2014. And also a denial for visitor's visa in 2013.

At the interview, I asked if I can join, he said ok. First question he asked how we met, and I was answering his question but the look on his face was like whatever you say buddy, I'm not gonna believe you. After trying n trying, he says we believe you guys are already married and should apply for CR-1. My fiancé started to argue with him but then he says, look we know it, someone called us and told us!!

    Please advise. I'm so irritated.

    Thanks in advance

Oh wow, that's terrible, I'm sorry to hear that.

I don't know about now but if this will not get solved now quickly (I wish it does though), you could both present official documents about that you are both not married, document of civil status. I was required to bring one for my interview.

  10. Our status on visa changed to 'Issued' today, exactly a week after the interview)
Expecting to get in the next couple of days and hope to fly Friday/Saturday ^_^

My Fiance had POE on 9/22 and we are getting married this Saturday. :star:

We will be joining the October 2016 AOS filers soon. Hope I see some of you guys there!

Congrats!!!! So happy to see people finally getting to this awesome day after months of anxiety and stress ^_^

  11. So quite here ))

We got out packet 3 yesterday and booked the medical for this Friday.

Though we thought we have almost everything ready for medical and interview, our P3 came with surprises, there are 2 more docs we need to do get, a paper from my doctor about my general health state and a document that show's I'm single right now and am legally able to marry.

Also USPS is failing at maximum. The paperwork my fiance sent, went through like 5 states already and still didn't come close to Europe though by their timeline it was already supposed to be here :/
