  1. Hi. Here's my situation. I got to the US late november 2016 under k1 visa. We are planning to get married in february 2017 (which is ofcourse several days before my visa expires).

My fiance only worked a few weeks the entire year of 2016 so we had cosponsor when we did the visa process and we will still have one when we file our AOS.

He just had his health insurance this month and that will start january 2017.

I am not under his health insurance so i am

Wondering if i should get my own health insurance too? Is it ok if i dont have my own health insurance until i get a job hopefully 2nd quarter of next year? Will i have to pay for a penalty?

I would rather wait until i get a job if possible so i want to know if i can or not. We both don't have a job and just living off of our savings so we want to not spend as much as we can until we get a job.

    Please advise.

  2. hi,

i am filling out the DS-160 now. our case is in transit to manila from NVC. so i am getting all the documents ready now.

my question is, i filled out DS-160 before when i thought about applying for tourist visa last august. i completed it.

should i call Manila embassy (or who should i call) to cancel the form?

    what should i do?

    please advise.

    thank you

  3. seems to me there are a lot of misunderstanding here.. maybe u need to find out the reasons behind her actions? yes, she may be acting like a child, etc etc but why? why is she tampo? maybe u said something that to you sounded OK but to her, it sounded offensive?

i once dated an american guy and 80% of the time i feel offended with what he says, and yeah, it is because of the culture i would say, so i would always be tampo and worse, would have grudges and lots of unsaid feelings.

does she communicate in english well??

sometimes, since english is not my native laguage, when i am upset, i try to communicate my anger through words, sometimes, the words are not very easy to say so it gets frustrating, add to that the anger i have with the current issue we are fighting about... then sometimes he would interrupt me too, and most of the time when i feel he dont understand me, that also adds that to the frustration and anger i feel.. until i would just shut up and not talk bec talking doesnt help anyway..

i hope u can resolve this with your wife.. there are reasons behind her actions...

  4. You can directly pay bpi then schedule the appointment.

Which stage are you in your k1 application? Getting a B1/B2 visa while on going K1 application have higher chances of getting denied. You have to establish more ties to philippines and more proof that you are going back home.

    we just got our NOA1..

i have a stable job but no kids no property here in ph..

    thank you

  5. ^that's what i have read too in some stories..

question though, can i just submit the i-134 of my fiance first, then wait for them to ask if i will have a co-sponsor?

my fiance said his docs are enough (bank account statement, w2) but since he hasnt worked since 3rd quarter of 2015, i am afraid that it may not be enough although he has a lot in his savings (6 digits) so i also asked my uncle (US citizen, green card holder) to cosponsor him.

so i am thinking of just giving them my fiance's docs and only give the co-sponsor's docs when they asked for it..

    is that ok?

    please advice.. thanks

  6. hi,

i am thinking about going to the US as a tourist for my birthday and to see my fiance too. i just submitted my DS160 online and i can't find what the next step is.

i was told i need to schedule an interview but i cant find the website where to set it. help? if i need to pay, where do i pay ?

i am also thinking of doing the interview in september, so i wonder if that's ok? does my DS160 form have an expiration?

i know i have to disclose everything and i have no problem with it.

    thank you in advance :)

  7. my uncle is now a green card holder in the US, should i let my fiance (petitioner) have him as a co-sponsor?

also, we submitted the i-129 form last july 22, we used USPS and also paid for return receipt. we haven't received the return receipt yet, although it says in the USPS online tracker that USCIS have received it.

should we be worried? who can we contact about the i129 form?

    thanks

  8. hi everyone.

my fiance submitted i-129 form for k1 visa just last week.

now, we are trying to accomplish i-134 and i read in some posts that they would need recent w2 and ITR.

the problem is he only worked a few months in 2015 (he didnt meet the minimum income required) and he hasnt worked since (other reasons).

he has some income this year but no proof to show that

however, in 2013 and 2014, he is meeting the minimum requirement since thats the last time he worked,

can he just submit the old ones?

also, we are considering doing the DCF instead.

what other requirement would they need for DCF aside from (the petitioner) becoming a resident outside US and him and i getting married)?

do they need other requirements that relates to money/proof of support?

    thanks in advance

  9. thanks everyone. i will make sure not to include it.

    also, another question for i134

my fiance has stopped working since 2015, although his last w2 form in 2015 has exceeded the 125% minimum.

right now, the only proof of support he can show is bank statements..

is there anything we can do to increase the chance of getting approved with the bank statement only as a proof?

    thank you

  10. hi

my fiance and i are gathering all the chat texts now, taking screen shots

now i read somewhere that we should avoid showing the chat that says something about "wife or husband"

my question is, how about the word "married?"

he said something about let's get married now

that time, we still havent met in person, we were chatting for a certain number of weeks and he is on his way to see me in a weeks time.

i think it is a joke but it is a red flag?

    thanks

  11. hi, my fiance and I just started filling out forms.. we havent submitted anything yet since we just got engaged.

he is accomplishing the I-129form already and hopefully he can submit it before August 2016

he plans to visit me in September and stay a while here in Ph while waiting for the process to complete.

i researched that it will take 2-3 weeks for the confirmation letter once they received the petition and another 3-8 weeks for the approval of petition or if they need more documents.

question: can he do that while he is in Ph? can they send the docs to manila address instead of the US address?

    thanks
