Thanks a lot. Hope it'll be the same situation for us. We just want to get done with the process and begin our life together.

It will be straight forward. Second interviews are usually called re-oath. I am glad it is almost over for you guys.

I remember you saying Valentines day would be your 60th day since you sent documents. It seems they are following the 60-day review closely. Based on this mine I could get a response by mid March. They received my documents exactly a month after yours.

Our case been updated again today but we received also an email for a second interview (next week, on February 15th).  They don't ask to bring any papers, only to bring the re-interview letter.

We think that we had a very solid proof of relationship with trips ( 23 trips in 1,5year), lot of pictures, skype and whatsapp conversation.

I had a withdraw of application for entrance at the US border in December 2015. The Consulate officer asked me questions  about it at the interview but didn't told me that I need a waiver.

So, we don't really understand what the second interview.

Someone been in a similar situation ? or  have  clue ??

I search online about the second interview and I cannot find really good information. :(

Hey baby74, a friend of mine  went for a second interview in Nov 2016. He told me it wasn't really an interview. They asked if anything had changed like address and stuff like that. He was told his visa was ready. He told them he would be travelling in 3 days. Then they gave him his passport with the visa right there.

Sadly I have. On Friday the status said ready then it said issued. Then on Saturday, it said ready and then it said administrative processing on Monday, yesterday. It's been in AP since yesterday.

I hope it does not take long for you guys. I really hope for you guys they are just doing the final touches and everything is fine. Good luck

Our case been update today but still in AP. At least, someone seems to take a look at it.

It is good that they are touching your file. It indicates it is not just sitting in somewhere. Good luck.

There is nothing new with my case. I will probably not hear anything from them until mid March which will be 60 days since I sent them documents.

  4. Hi guys!

I am CR1 in AP since Nov. 15th 2016. Interviewed on Nov 15th. Consular officer told me since our marriage was common-law (informal marriage in Texas) I was not eligible for CR1 visa as family because the US fed. govt. does not recognize common-law  marriages. Therefore, he said case will be returned to USCIS. I pointed that common-law marriages in Texas are recognized by the state as having the same benefits as regular marriages. Anyways, he insisted they will return case and USCIS will decide if to revoke or re-confirm. He returned my passport and told me this process could take a really long time. At this point I was obviously devastated.

However, much to my relief, on Jan. 12th 2017, I received an e-mail from Consulate asking me to send documentation showing validity  of marriage and bonafide relationship. I sent lots of documents on Jan 16th: our baby's birth certificate, air tickets, receipts of money transfer, my RRSP showing my wife and son as beneficiaries, affidavit from my father and mother-in-laws attesting to our marriage, phone calls, and photos. I did not send my passport with the documents. They received the documents on Jan 17th and on Jan 18th last updated date changed to Jan 18th, presumably because they logged my documents or something.

On Jan 25th my status changed from AP to Ready. However, about 4 hours later it went back to AP. It's been AP since and there was no further communication from them.

Sorry for the long post folks. Has anyone been through anything like this? I appreciate your thoughts comments. Thank you.

  5. He can print off a copy of the old one he submitted and just sign it off with a pen if he has it somewhere on his computer. If he doesn't have a copy on his computer, he needs to fill a new one and sign it off with a pen and send it to you. The bottom line is you MUST take an ink signed I-864 to your interview. Hope this helps. Good luck!

  6. The letter you received should tell you what is acceptable proof of legal residence in Canada. It should say something like this:

Canadian citizens can meet this requirement with copies of Canadian passports, Canadian citizenship certificates, or birth certificates showing birth in Canada. If you are not a Canadian citizen, you must provide us with a copy of your Landed Immigrant papers or a copy of your visa that states that you may legally remain in Canada for six more months. This document must indicate six months validity from the time it is received at the NVC.
