It just means they can't approve it until the 751 application is approved. I think there was someone here who had their naturalization interview a week before their ROC interview (NOT the norm) and they were put on hold until the ROC approval.

Some people say wait, some people say don't. You can still apply for sure, they will accept it if you meet the criteria for naturalization  but ROC has to be approved for there to be a Naturalization approval.

My local USCIS officers all told me to wait as otherwise it will confuse the workers in charge of reviewing/approving and will cause delays. I know we will wait.

    Hi guys,

I read on the uscis website, they said that "Application for Naturalization may not be APPROVED if the removal of condition is still pending". By "Approved", do they mean they are going to ACCEPT our application and leave it at pending until they approve the petition of removal condition? Or they will refuse our application at the first place?

It's quite confusing or am I thinking too much? lol

    Any idea, guys?

    Thanks :)

Best to wait til your I-751 is processed before applying for naturalization.

Technically conditions have to be removed before receiving citizenship but that doesnt mean you can't apply before that. You can file 90 days before your third anniversary of your first green card, if marriage based. In doing so, your i-751 and N400 will run concurrently and most likely be interviewed for both at the same time

Been told that nowadays they want you to have that 10 year GC or the citizenship will take much longer

How will this effect us? Also my wife did had Medicaid for first 4-5 months then changed to regular Health insurance. Will this new law effect my wife's process?

This is scary.  I would hope that this is not yet set in stone.  That article is a little confusing as we don't know whether that really concerns those who already have their temporary cards.

I'm now a little worried about what they mean by little supporting evidence. Our lives barely changed after getting married (We were already living together for 2 years before getting married, had joint accounts but lazily used) and so sent in a lot of repeated information. The only thing that changed was that we got a car & car loan together, another cat, and a bunch of travel tickets and pictures and weddings that we had attended. Obviously all sent in, but it can certainly look minimal under someone's who's looking for mortgage, children, insurance change..etc..

Don't worry.  I am certain they are trying to weed out those who are not serious.

I'm not sure what you mean by placeholder an application.

We will see I suppose. If people are making use of the system, I don't think it's bad to have more stringent rules in place. However, leaving it to "their discretion" just leaves much to be abused.

Honestly CNN is most probably the most unreliable news outlet out there. I would be interested in seeing an official announcement from the government, if any.

We aren't allowed to utilize the google doc as per VisaJourney rules. Been posted about many times in here.  From everything I've gathered, no CSC filers after April 6th have received biometrics.   I've called and was told somethingwould be done and sent to "action"...2 weeks and one day later...still nothing.

Same problem here: no news about biometrics and got NOA before yours. Called USCIS and they don't provide any clear reply ...anyone else can clue us in?

Yes it is not very clear . I heard that a person  did get their second NOA with the 18 month extension.

Did you call the helpline number to check as to when they  would be sending out the biometric letter ? I filed in VSC in May 2018 and have already completed my biometrics

I called twice and was told "oh yes we are aware of the delays , just wait more".

My response was regarding the biometric letter. We are at CSC and they received our packet on April 9th and my husband still hasn't received his biometric letter.

Responding to your question, according to the USCIS site they will issue a new NOA that states 18 months. However, I am slightly confused whether it only for those that filed from June 11, 2018 and after because later in the article it says those that still have pending I-751 will also be sent a new letter. Again, confused if we April filers are part of that "pending" or if they mean those that filed last year and are still waiting.

Same, I am confused by their announcement. As per the biometrics, still nothing received when NOA is dated May 18th.
