    Hello friends,

As if this process was not long enough, I just realized I made a mistake on DS 260 from. Haven't submit the financial document yet because payment has not been cleared. I dont know what to do because I know if they dont notice, this will create lots of problems.

The passport number entered on the i130 with us is and ds260 were wrong. We filled out the paperwork with a phone picture sent to us through whatup and a number 6 appeared as an 8. So that's what we had in all the documents until we had to submit the civil document when we had them send us a scanned passport page which was a headache to get with haiti no technology. That's when we noticed the .mistake. what do we do???

DID YOU submitted the DS-260?? so you can't make changes??

if you did.!!! You have to call NVC and explain the error with the passport number. Just mention the error in the DS-260,  Do not mention the error in the from i-130 (because that's already approved).

They can go ahead and re-open the form DS-260 so you can make changes

    .

The other thing to do if your case gets approved anyway and you can't fix the error is contact the US embassy before the interview date and let them know so they will allow you to fix it the error before interview.

Remember that the information in the DS-260 form has to match the passport information so they can print the VISA

Don't worry now about the i-130 form ( if you mention that you will probably have to start all over again).

I can tell by experience that the embassy would let you make changes. in my case NVC approved everything but once the embassy got the file they reject the birth certificates and they asked me to upload them again.

    Good look.

Congratulations, During interview she was asked about health insurance ?

    Hi,

No they didn't. I saw the news the other day and they said that a judge temporary stop the health insurance law for new immigrants.

Read the following article. I think that the law is not in effect yet  because of that.

    hi

the account with homeland security will not show any update.

you can use the receipt number on your NOA1, mine is src****** and plug it in https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

    no need for creating account.

    hope it help.

    Hi,

That's what I did after NOA2 approval letter but https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do was not showing any updated status. That's why I decided to create an account with USCIS then I put the SRC*** number and then I could see the real status of the application.

I mentioned before that I used to tracked the petition everyday and nothing was updated I found out that the case was approved because I got the NOA2 in the mail.

But the case in the USCIS tracking web page was never updated.

Hope this can help to those that don't see the update online call USCIS to get a real update.

    Best,

Congrats for approvals, how do we know that case is sent to NVC?

I had to crate an account online with USCIS to check the real status of my petition because the app and the regular tracking page was never updated.

once I registered I could see the real status of the application and it says (Case Was Sent To The Department of State) I think is the NVC.

I used to check the  USCIS app and web page every single day and nothing had changed. I found out the Approval because of the letter in the mail.

but the status of ( Case was received) never change online.

  8. Hi everybody just joined the group.

I sent the i-130 petition for my mother on August 13, 2018.

It took exactly 9 months to get the approval.

I was checking the USCIS app and also web page to track the case and their system was never updated.

I found out that the case was approved because I got the letter in the mail.

Call to USCIS just to follow up the status. .

The regular tracking page and app was never updated.

  9. You shouldn't have to wait 2 weeks. You should have been entered into the database at POE.

Errr, well they are right about needing the I-94 record and the completed SS5.

    Did he bring those?

He had only the application.! but yes they were right but why this lady didn't say that at the first place. She said NOO he can not get a SS card with this kind of visa you need to bring the green card.

then i sent him back and they said YES but we need this this and that.

we will try again tomorrow. we got our i_94 today

  10. Anyone went to get ss#? We went a bit earlier while I wasn't in the database yet, they person said he'll verify later and will call me.

Now I'm checking the SAVE case check site and there is a case on me, with just one entry saying Case Returned to Agency (Maryland SSA). Does it mean that everything's ready, anyone knows? It appears to be the mystery of the century, I could't find any comprehensive list of steps/statuses that thing would show.

    Hey,

My fiance went to SSA in New Rochelle NY. the lady told him that for that kind of visa he can not get a SS card so he called me because I was working and I told him go back and tell her to go on line and check that YOU CAN..!!! and don't move until you get her supervisor. Then they told him that he needs to bring the I-94 exits and entries record https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home and the SS-5 application https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf.

    First they said NOOOO.!

They really need to hire people and teach them how at least google stuff.!

hope this can help. We will try again tomorrow morning with all those documents.

  11. Oh, I was so tired and excited that I forgot to update) POE 10.08 New York. Already back together for 2 days after roughly 5 months.

Was worried about the border, heard that they can deny you even with perfect paperwork and visa, just because but all went fine. On top of that I went to a separate line at customs, with no one in front of me, which is crazy as the shortest line I've ever stood in on my previous visits was an hour long))

    Hey Welcome.!!!

Whats the process at the POE?? if you can give me an idea?

Thanks ! My fiance will arrive on Wednesday 12th

  12. Hi, I just want to share our interview experience. (We are a same sex couple).

    Interview date : September 21, 2016 at 7:40am

As the petitioner I decided to go to Ecuador to be at the interview with my fiance. I think that was the best decision I have ever made. the interview was so hard that I was losing my hope.

We got there around 7:00am (we wait until 8 am outside).

I guy came out and ask the beneficiaries name and then he asked (who are yo) I said the petitioner "we are a couple" then he said ok "go to security with this ticket.

The security lady did not say "Hi or Good morning" she goes like "do you have a cell phone) we said YES she said take them back home and come back. I was like ####### we are going to miss our interview if we do that. (before they used to put the cellphone in a lil box and when you finish the interview they return the phone to you). I called friends to see if they were close by. After all (we decide to ask an stranger who was offering his services for passport photos to hold our phones and we will pay him something. at that point I was like I prefer to lose 2 iPhones and not the interview. (so we thrust him - but he was nice he gave us the phones back and we paid him $20 bucks) thank God he was honest.

Inside they asked for the ticket and they let us in into a waiting area (green Chairs)again a security point. Another security lady asked us to take everything out from our pockets and I asked her "should I take the belt off too" and she said very rude "I said things from your pockets" and then she look at the other guy and she said in Spanish "IS MY SPANISH not understandable" she was mad Ecuadorian by the way. I was looking for her name to report her attitude but I completely forgot after all.

We sat and wait for like 45 minutes a very kind Latina Ecuadorian lady called us and she asked for PASSPORT, 1 PASSPORT PHOTO, THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE and MEDICAL EXAM and also a couple questions like ** Where and when we meet, how long we been together, how many times I went there to visit my fiance she asked me to tell the months and years. then she took my fiance's finger prints and she said Please have a seat somebody else will call you so we sat again.

After around 25 minutes a Man called us to a window and he said "I'm going to start with the interview. Note: I was married before(petitioner)and he start asking me question about my last marriage" I was like #######" I'm here to talk about my fiance and our relationship not about my last relationship. anyway I decide to answer.

    Question for Petitioner:

How long have you been married

Where did you meet your ex "smh"

Do you have kids with your ex

    Where are you from

Did you get your citizenship through your last marriage

    why you get divorce

you and you ex used to live together

    is your ex from Ecuador

why do you want to marry him

how long have you been together

when / where did you meet

when did you start your current relationship

how many times have you visit your fiance (explain dates)

why you want to bring him to the US if you can come en visit him

give me a copy of you divorce

    where do you work

what do you do for living

why do you want to move to US you can't be with him here? "we said no because of the discrimination that exist".

what kind of discrimination are you talking about? can you explain

have you ever submit a petition for somebody else before

where is you fiance going to live?? "stupid question"

how many years do you have in the US

    Question for Fiance

Where and when did you meet

have you ever been in the US

have you traveled to another countries

what do you do for living

    where did you work before

    how old are you

    how old you fiance is

    are you single

did you applied for a VISA before? he said YES

why did you put in that application that he was your friend and not your fiance.

why did you lie about it

so you signed the application and you put a lie about your relationship

how many times did you apply for a tourist VISA "3 times in less than a year"

why did you applied so many times for it

how many times your fiance came to visit you

    and some more.

At that point I was so ###### tired of the question that I decide to tell him "listen we can not be here together" I want to marry him and live him in the USA.

He was like thinking and thinking looking at the pictures once twice

looking at the paper work "he had the originals that I sent to USCIS".

then he said YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED. HAVE A GOOD DAY

I was like OMG thank GOD this is over

    we were so happy.

he gave us back all the original paper work that we send to USCIS.

    on Friday September 23, 2016

my fiance received a phone call from the Consulate

they asked him to go back on Monday September 26, 2016

because the system did not save his finger prints and they need

to take the finger prints again in order to print the VISA

finally he went there and everything was OK

now we are waiting for the visa.

For me it was not a good experience starting from security and then brunch of question that he made some of them stupid.!!

but we got approved I hope this experience can help to others if you applied for a VISA before the interview GET READY they will pull out all the old applications to ask you WHY this and that. get ready with an accurate answer.

    Good luck..!!!

Sorry about some typo I'm working and doing this at the same time

  14. Did anyone notice the i134 form on the UCIS website is expired?

    Google search for i134 - https://www.google.com/?ion=1&espv=2#q=i134

3rd link from the search above directing to UCIS site - https://www.uscis.gov/i-134

    What did y'all use?

I just called USCIS and they told me that we have to use the one from USCIS web page it doesn't matter if its expired. that's the last version and the only one available. so your are good

    =)

  15. hi had a lot of doubts about the process after the case arrived to the US Consulate so I contacted them thru email. and they answer all my questions. if you don't know what to do call them or asked them they have to give you an answer. Following the question that I made:

Note: I'm actually happy they responded in just a few hours

Thank you for your message. Please find attached our responses.

    · My question is the US Consulate in Guayaquil has to send me or my fiancé any letter?? Or we are OK to go for the interview on September 21st

Your fiancé can come for his interview on September 21. However, more information you will find at: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate-spanish/u-s--embassy-consulate-general-specific-information.html

    · Do we have to send something to the US consulate first before the interview?

You do not need to submit documents in advance.

    · In the receipt intrusions after the payment that we made says that we have to go to the interview date with the letter that we received from the Consular Section (we didn’t received any) but we are ready to go with all the paper work. Can you confirm if we need the letter from the Consular Section? If we do can you email it to me?

Please find below the letter information.

    · I’m the petitioner I will be travelling to Ecuador to be there for the interview with my fiancé. Do I have to make an additional appointment for me?

You can be present during the interview, if you would like to come to Ecuador.

If you need to contact us again, please include this message in your new inquiry. This way we will be able to serve you better.

    Sincerely,

    Immigrant Visa Unit

  16. we havent received packet 3 yet:( my case has been in beruit since 8/12 . they havent even contacted us

    should i be worried??

check your embassy or consulate instructions. In my case I set up the interview by myself i didn't wait for package 3.

the package 3 is on line you can download it from the embassy webpage.

if your case says READY at the NVC web page that means that the embassy have your case ready for interview.

  17. heres why I am scared that it may expire. My fiance submitted it on tuesday. he was going to pay the fee and schedule interview/medical today however he had some urgent work that came up at his job. so he wont be scheduling the interview not before Monday. Will this cause any problem ?

it won't be a problem the application is in their system you don't have to schedule an interview the same day if you do it by next week. it will be fine.!

  18. Thank you so much for responding. have you done the ds160 yet? its a pain :(

I did..!! I know some of the question are confuse at least you have you case ready to go mine is stuck at NVC for almost 2 weeks now. they gave me the case number on Aug 15 but they don't send the case to the embassy 2 weeks waiting my case moved faster at USCIS they also send it faster to NVC now they decide yo keep there doing nothing because I have a case number already.

Im so mad ..!!! Good luck to you
